Pigeon Point Lighthouse is one of the most picturesque lighthouses on the Pacific coast. The tower stands on a rocky promontory and has long been a landmark for ships approaching San Francisco Bay from the south. This headland, and hence the lighthouse, took its name from the ship Carrier Pigeon that wrecked here in 1853. During our visit to the coast, we decided to stop by Pescadero and visit the Pigeon Point lighthouse. The 115-foot Pigeon Point Lighthouse, one of the tallest lighthouses in America, has been guiding mariners since 1872.
The tallest sunflower was 30 feet, 1 inch tall.
The sunflowers growth behavior is known as heliotropism, meaning the buds and young blossoms will face east in the morning, and follow the sun as the earth moves during the day.

De Zalmhaven, also referred to as Zalmhaven Toren, is a project that includes a 215m residential tower in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Other parts of the project are two buildings of 70m each. The project was approved by the city in February 2010.
The 215m high residential tower houses 295 apartments and a parking garage. The tower and a second office building are designed by Dam & Partner architects, with Claus en Kaan Architecten designing a residential unit it is one of the tallest residential towers in Europe and the tallest building in the Netherlands.
In September 2016, the Rotterdam city council approved the plan. After fifteen years of preparation, construction started on 25 October 2018. With Zalmhaven I, the Zalmhaven has a height of 215 meters. The building itself is 203 m and the mast takes up the last 12 m.
On December 15, 2020, the construction of Zalmhaven II and III reached the highest point. Zalmhaven I reached its highest point in September 2021 and the entire project is completed in 2022.
De Zalmhaven contains 452 apartments and penthouses, 33 townhouses, a parking garage, offices, commercial spaces and a restaurant. The townhouses have a private roof terrace and the apartments and penthouses all have one or more outdoor spaces. The basement accommodates a five-story parking garage with 456 spaces. An inner garden will be realized in the lobby. A roof garden will be realised on the parking garage that is only accessible to the residents of De Zalmhaven. The apartments and penthouses in De Zalmhaven II and III have their own entrance at Gedempte Zalmhaven, but residents also use the facilities in De Zalmhaven I.
One of the tallest and most beautiful eastern hardwoods, with a long, straight trunk, a narrow crown that spreads with age, and large showy flowers resembling tulips or lilies. A tall, straight, deciduous tree, up to150 ft. tall (sometimes taller), tuliptree has a medium to narrow crown and distinctive, star-shaped foliage. The leaves are waxy and smooth, and dependably turn bright gold in fall. Showy, yellow-orange, tulip-like flowers are often missed because they are up 50 ft. or higher in the tops of trees. Cone-shaped seedheads remain after leaves have fallen.
This exquisite specimen tree is a stately choice for large yards and properties with its spectacular yellow tulip-like flowers in the spring. and maple-like foliage. Its fall foliage is a brilliant orange.
The tallest Tulip, not sure what I fed her, but she's blooming beautiful...

Glymur is the second tallest waterfall in Iceland at 198M. With high winds on this visit, made it almost unable to stand but created lots of side spray which I wanted to try and capture, found myself a rocky ledge slightly protected from the wind. But unable to create any long exposures, but thought this one is okay to show

Taken this morning behind the old Marden school. You can see the smoke and lights of nearby Guelph in the background. Very warm sky with a touch of fog. I was so busy looking at the big full moon in the west, I almost missed the sunrise in the east.

A 4 photos panorama of two of Belgium's tallest constructions:
- In the middle, 4.2 km away (2.6 miles), the South Tower (''Tour du Midi'' in French, ''Zuidentoren'' in Dutch, next to Brussels' South Station), is the tallest building in Belgium, peaking at 150 m (492 ft) – and 165 m (541 ft) with its antenna.
Built in 1967, it hosts the Belgian pensions' administration.
- On the right, 15.4 km away (9.6 miles), the 300 m tall (984 ft) Sint-Pieters-Leeuw Tower (West of Brussels) is the tallest freestanding structure in Belgium.
Built in 1996, it is a telecommunications tower hosting antennas for the VRT, the Flemish radio and TV.
You may think it isn't all that impressive and so do I:
Belgium is quite a bit of a small country with fading ambitions...
Also, 33.3 km away (22.6 miles), just left of the pylon on the left of the South Tower, you can faintly distinguish the water tower of Belle Croix in the village of Horrues (Soignies).
This pano was shot on an exceptionally clear morning from the 34th floor of the Brusilia Residence in Schaerbeek, using a Nikon D7100 and a 600 mm f/4 lens.

Beartooth Mountain : Tallest peak 12,799 ft.
Beartooth Pass at 10, 947 feet offers a wonderful view as you make your way up the well-maintained road 212. The late Charles Kuralt (former CBS News reporter) named it “The Most Beautiful Drive in America.” The scenic drive passes through North West Wyoming and South-Central Montana. The road is closed in the winter and early spring. Stop in Cooke City to check road conditions. You can also ask Rangers as you leave YNP. As you can see there is lots of snow! Sudden snow storms can close the road for a few hours or a few days. This shot was taken June2, 2024. In some areas, the snow looked to be 12 feet high. During some years, visitors come to play in the snow on the 4th of July. This area is very close to the YNP. Keep your eyes open for mountain goats and marmots. Allow 2-3 hours for the adventure to the top and return to Cooke City. There are many pull offs to view snow, falls, and animals. Have your picture made by the sign at Beartooth Pass.

Often referred to as the Golden God Temple. At 375 feet (114 m) in height, the Shwemadaw holds the record for the tallest pagoda in the country taller even than the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon (at 98 metres (322 ft)). Shwemadaw, along with the Shwedagon and Kyaiktiyo, are famous Mon pagodas.
Grand is the tallest geyser on Earth to have a predictable eruption, its waters reaching heights of up to 200 feet in a short series of bursts (one to five) , separated by between 7 and 15 hours of inactivity. Eruptions typically last for ten minutes, and are followed by gradual replenishment of the 30 foot diameter pool above the vent. Although predicable to a degree, times are subject to an uncertainty of two hours plus or minus, so some patience may be needed to witness an eruption.

Ulm Minster, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The tallest church spire in the world at 162 metres (530 feet). The church was started in 1377 but construction wasn't actually completed until as late as 1890. During WW2 an air raid destroyed 80% of the medieval town centre but the minster was not hit. A 500kg bomb did land in the choir area on March 1st 1945 but did not explode.
