The only gun I own is a bubble gun and that is all I want to own!!

When are we going to be responsible here in the USA and make a law to protect our population from being killed by a gun. The statistics are out and the USA has more people killed by guns because of their lack of laws, what is wrong with this country. All people are valuable and no-one deserves to lose a loved one because of the lack of gun control!!! How many more people have to be killed until we

take action?

Waiting tomorrow shining and shimmering.

A blue sky waiting tomorrow.

Waiting tomorrow.

May its all we need.

Oh. don't you wash away that smile.

🎧 Listen to "Feels Like Summer" by Childish Gambino ♡ ♫

SONG LYRICS: ♫♪

You can feel it in the streets

On a day like this, the heat

It feel like summer

I feel like summer

I feel like summer

You can feel it in the streets

On a day like this, the heat

I feel like summer

She feel like summer

This feel like summer

I feel like summer

Seven billion souls that move around the sun

Rolling faster, faster and not a chance to slow down

Slow down

Men who made machines that want what they decide

They're just tryna tell the children please slow down

Slow down

I know

Oh, I know you know that pain

I'm hopin' that this world will change

But it just seems the same

(It is not the same)

You can feel it in the streets

On a day like this, the heat

It feel like summer

I feel like summer

I feel like summer

You can feel it in the streets

On a day like this, that heat

I feel like summer

(I feel like summer)

I feel like summer

(I feel like summer)

Every day gets hotter than the one before

Running out of water, it's about to go down

Go down

Air that kill the bees that we depend upon

Birds were made for singing

Waking up to no sound

No sound

I know

Oh, I know you know my pain

I'm hopin' that this world will change

But it just seems the same

I know

Oh, I hope we change

I really thought this world would change

But it seems like the same

I know

Oh, my mind is still the same

I'm hoping that this world will change

But it just seems the same

I know

Oh, I hope we change

Sending out gratitude to those who follow my photostream and FAVE my images. Of course, the awards and comments are lovely, too. I'm grateful for ALL of it! Thanks so much! ♡

I am not prepared to bury my head in the sand and pretend that everything is alright when it is in fact the opposite.

I am not prepared to turn and walk away when I know that I should stand and face it all.

I am not prepared to close my eyes to unpleasant things and to stand by without taking action when needed to save a life.

My friend and I visited the #aletschglacier in #switzerland , I had the opportunity to visit it the previous year, I am not sure if I was more impressed or it just slowly disappears but I remember my more majestic. It doesn’t help that the summer has been hotter on average that previous year. So, contemplating this giant, I cannot stop wondering. Also, take a few seconds and sign the petition against SOPA and PIPA. Well, at the very least, read about them and educate yourself about the legislation. Do it for me, yeah?

Taken during my all too short of a visit to Big Sur. I can certainly understand why people get inspired by this beautiful coastline. I wanted to get down to the shore and take some closer angle shots next to the rocks, but being that this was the first visit and I was running out of light and time I didn't want to risk getting stuck. Technically I think you can climb in and out of this area by hand but there are some other spots that require ropes and ladders for access. I did meet some locals further south that were fishing off of this insanely vertical trail off the cliff, and one of those guys had to be about 60 years old... put me to shame!

I got this information from one of my contacts Leon aka leapin26 about Arnold proposing to close down virtually all of the parks to save money, here's the list:

Another shot from the Margate carnival. This whale is made from unwanted plastics litter, and is encouraging folk to take their litter home with them or dispose of it properly. Unfortunately, there are too many ignorant, selfish, dirty scumbags out there that will never act responsibly. The disgusting, and lazy act of leaving litter contributes greatly to the 80% of plastic waste from the land reaching the sea. This plastic pollution injures and kills Fish, marine mammals and seabirds, and its it believed that 700 species will become extinct as a result. Some plastic even ends up on your dinner plate, as some fish that you might be eating have themselves eaten waste plastic!

You all should sign this. It's truly saddening how controlling our government is. We need to take a stand.

This is a really unfortunate moment in our history, as it stands this is the last time I will be able to see this scene since I work most weekends. But there is a great opportunity to save our parks for good and not let them slip into evil hands. With $22 million in cuts looming next fiscal year there is no doubt that this is a last stand.....please support the parks and stop the systematic closures

I was previously not aware that it was an official awareness day for Burma the 29th, otherwise my 365 pic might have been different. The theme, as one might guess, is a red one. Though Burma may have been cut off from the internet due to their militant government trying to cover up any killings of peaceful protesters and torture pictures from leaking out, there are quite a few people online speaking out for them. I know I have said this before, but again, when freedom of speech is subdued, art forms become the fall back for that expression. You can read about what is going on in Burma here.

The picture was made as a last minute thing, so pardon the lack of creativity. This is merely more about awareness.

LET THE ANIMALS LIVE NEEDS HELP FOR ABANDONED GAZA ANIMALS

2009 -- In these bad time in the world and in Israel we must not forget our pets. Let The Animals Live, due to the situation in GAZA, is dealing with a growing phenomena of abandoned dogs left behind by their families. We collect them the put them in private shelters as well as our own. Also many dogs are being abandoned in the streets by owners who can not take care of them any more due to the rough financial situation.

To help Let The Animals Live raise awareness and donations... Geler-Nasis advertising agency produced voluntarily a short video telling the need of our organization: www.letlive.org.il/english/article.php?id=193

2. Israel To Fund Medical Care For War-Injured Animals

SOURCE: 1/6/09, Ynetnews

FULL STORY: State to help fund treatment of pets hurt by rockets

www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3651173,00.html

Last week a Qassam rocket hit a house in Sderot and killed the family's dog, which was at the building's yard during the attack. The dog was rushed to the veterinarian for treatment, but died due to severe shrapnel injuries and massive loss of blood.

Following this incident and in light of the fact that like their human owners, pets in Israel's south are also under the constant rocket threat, the Agriculture Ministry has decided it would help pay for the medical care of dogs and cats injured by rocket fire from Gaza.

"One of the main problems arising from the treatment of wounded animals is that the tax authorities do not consider pets as property, and therefore owners are not compensated for medical treatment of the animal," said Dganit Ben-Dov, DVM, the Veterinary Services official in charge of enforcing the Animal Protection Law.

"This is the aspect we wish to rectify, since treatment to a wounded animal could cost thousands of shekels," she added. According to Ben-Dov, the ministry will also consider funding treatment of street cats and dogs...

Of course, our hearts go out to all the people and animals affected and we pray that a peaceful solution will soon be reached.

In the meantime, Lucy and the team continue to reach out to donkeys, mules and horses in Israel and the West Bank and your help is still very much needed. To make a donation, visit our home page. Thank you for your support.

And news from Greenpeace

Today, November 18th 2007, the Japanese fleet is setting out to hunt whales in the Pacific.... they are planning to kill 935 minke whales, up to 50 fin whales and humpback whales. These whales are not just so much meat:

This is Fissure when I met several times in 1986 and 1987 he was a lively 2 year old humpback..... they are killing individual whales with complex family and social structures with spirits and character.... playful curious calves and teenagers, matriarchs (some trusting enough to leave their calves for familiar whale watch boats to baby sit) and patriarch that have lived for maybe as much as 80 (they are sure humpbacks live 45 years, but suspect much longer). How can they do this "for scientific purposes" ..... for any purpose.

My heart is heavy.

**DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME* I volunteer for a Marine Mammal rescue group.

Pup rescued in May 2001: I study Harbor Seals (since 1980, yikes). One day during pupping season this little one hauled out near me on my observation rock, a long way from where the rest of the seals were settled. I could tell from experience that it was not in good shape and desparate (its eyes sunken from dehydration and its body very skinny). I am part of a marine mammal rescue team and so have a permit to pick up abandoned pups.

When I walked over, he paniced and struggled into the water so I backed off. It has always been a dilemna for me whether to rescue a pup or not.... should I take it away from its birthplace, put it in a car, stress it out with all the human interaction it must then go through when it might not survive anyway?

So I was determined to leave it alone, but soon it dragged itself back on the ledge and my heart went out to it. A voice in my head said "com'on you've been studying seals for 20 years ... act like one." Lying down on the ground, I hunched my way over and it immediately came to me, pressing it's nose against mine... that is what mothers and pups do to bond...I was mom! (definitely not a wise thing to do since pups are carriers of all sorts of weird even deadly diseases)

It was a long walk from the shore to our house, and I had to carry him in my arms. When he got fidgety and nervous I would touch noses, we would poooof at each other and he would settle down again immediately. It was wonderful to feel his weight in my arms and watch his face while he stared wide eyed at the trees moving past.

Once I got him to the house a veterinarian friend came to rehydrate him, something he needed desperately, and got him ready for the trip to Marine Animal Lifeline where he joined other pups that were being rehabilitated in hopes of releasing them in the late summer.

We had bonded it was calmed by touching my nose, something mothers and pups do at birth.

We had a long drive to Portland where the rehab center was and a local veternarian came into her office specially to rehydrate him again for the trip. This is her young son who became very fond of La (I named him for the L and a hidden A on his head).

It was hard to part with La at the center... he and I had connected in a way I didn't with another rescue, Hancock (who had shown very little interest in me). La would seek nose to nose contact whenever he needed reassurance and would immediately calm down (I enjoyed it too even though there were all kinds of weird seal germs possibly lurking... human germs too).

When I left him off at the rehab center it was with a heavy heart. He was doing well when I checked in on him over the first week. Two weeks later he died. The center had suddenly been flooded by pups in trouble, La had no resistance to the new diseases because he had probably never nursed and hadn't had the benefit of colostrum. It still hurts ... in someways I felt I deserted him. But it is illegal for me to rehab pups, I can only rescue them.

This is a tiny image of La, at the rehab center. It is a little male Harbor seal pup I rescued in 2001. I uploaded it to finish his story. He survived and was even befriended by a second pup his age for a week or so. But didn't have the resistence to germs brought in by the surge of new pups and caught a virus. I think of this little guy often.

Credited to the people at Marine Animal Hotline in Maine. They have a wonderful newsletter of their current seal rescues. They could always use contributions.
