Living off the beaten path has plenty of advantages. One of which is being close to walking paths and the critters we share the planet with. We happen to live in an area off the beaten path and bustle of city life. There are stores for when we need it but basically we prefer staying close to home and the trees and gardens. When I want to walk or be alone or to daydream I can “Always Take A Hike” but still not really have to leave the property. I’m fortunate and blessed in my later years to have good enough health to enjoy as much as I do. Thanks for viewing my work. Be safe and be kind. Now back to the house to wash my 🙏’s.

Astronomische Uhr

Brookgreen Gardens
Sculptor - Laura Gardin Fraser, carved on-site 1951-1954
This is my second look at this large and beautiful, iconic sculpture at Brookgreen. Monochrome seems to suit this subject very well.
i wish i had a winged horse, to fly wherever its heart desired. i would ride, ride, ride.

Apparently I hesitated to post this photo because of the clutter. But I like that it shows the group's frantic burst.
I wasn't aiming to capture the Hoopoe at the moment of take off, but just pressed the shutter as he/she was spooked by a passer by. Unfortunately not in sharp focus (apart from maybe a few tail feathers and a toe), but I may not get anything better as they are so hard to capture in flight, appearing from nowhere and spending most of their time on the ground feeding.
Not many birds with more dramatic plumage than this? I wonder if it is designed to scare/confuse a ground predator?
Off this morning with a local bird guide to see what other wonders are out there!
Taken at Pedras d'el Rei, Algarve, Portugal.
Winter fun??? Ummm my tooshy would say otherwise... but all in the fun with the Art Club.
I always hated the toe pick... this is what always happened. ☺

Fallin' too fast to prepare for this
Trippin' in the world could be dangerous
Everybody circlin' is vulturous
Negative, nepotist
Everybody waitin' for the fall of man
Everybody prayin' for the end of times
Everybody hopin' they could be the one
I was born to run, I was born for this
Whip, whip
Run me like a racehorse
Pull me like a ripcord
Break me down and build me up
I wanna be the slip, slip
Word upon your lip, lip
Letter that you rip, rip
Break me down and build me up
Whatever it takes
'Cause I love the adrenaline in my veins
I do whatever it takes
'Cause I love how it feels when I break the chains

Spread the word, keep our freedom of speech, diversity and come together to embrace our differences! We do not want to go backwards with feelings of hate, indifference and superiority. We are all human beings, all equal in make and identity and that is the way we should treat one another as equals, with respect, friendship, compassion, understanding and work together in harmony and unity now and always! Lets come together with love and in peace, together, we achieve mountains alone, we are weak! Stop the pain start the healing!
Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
As I was editing the image I noticed that there are small drops of water that are falling off the pelicans wings as he was taking off. I think this one is going to be printed.
2 Samuel 22:3 “My God is my rocky summit where I take shelter, my shield, the horn that saves me, my stronghold, my refuge, my savior. You save me from violence!”
How about a round of applause
Yes
And a standing ovation
Ladies and gentlemen thanks to you all I have reached my 70,000 views,
Have a great weekend.
Why are leaves turning from green to yellow, orange & red in autumn? Because everything consists of energy in this life….Remember the visible spectrum & energy level of colours…(Red, Orange, Yellow, Green. Blue, Purple) Because tress lose their energy in autumn to get prepared for winter…Winter….Time to rest for nature…Time to sleep…Time to survive by consuming minimum energy… Thanks to this speechless transformation of nature, we are lucky enough to witness the amazing colour show of Autumn… BeNowMeHere, Kyoto, Japan, 2015 via 500px ift.tt/1MKO1eI
A Dalmatian Pelican (Pelecanus crispus) was framed on the very moment of take off with full stretched out wings in action. It was difficult to approach the giant bird and I had to manage myself really close to the ground almost crawling out there to get the perfect low angle. I love the beautiful posture of the bird here. Finally managed the angle and hence this reward. Pics was taken near Dwarka sector wetlands in Gujrat, India.
Time fly’s when you are having fun, righT? What a weekend. I didn’t get to have this much fun in a while. I’m still under impression. The only bad thing is that is already over and I’m back to the usual routine. This is a random shot that I ended up liking very much. I guess it’s because it really felt like spring. What do you think?
