We've had Cirrus and high level clouds all day, but this evening the breeze got up and dragged the tails almost horizontal.

We're all thrown into a world
With a chance as good as any old pearls
We're told everyday we should pray
Even if we haven't sinned on the day
Oh I know the lights & sights don't seem so bright sometimes
Without a stab in the dark
And last place, bronze, silver or gold
Heads or tails flipping pennies unfolds
Like paper, rocks and scissors are thrown
We never know what our outcome involves
When I know the lights & sights don't seem so bright sometimes
It's hard to tell who we are inside
Feel like the new in the old design
And oh, don't know exactly how we coped from the start!

This is the companion shot for the previous post, this one showing all three tiers of these magnificent falls. This was taken mid August, what must this look like in April?
The fairly large parking lot at the Comet Falls/VanTrump trail head was packed much to my dismay so I parked at Christine Falls and walked back down. Now I know why.... Smart people take this short hike when it's 98 degrees and stand under this fall to cool off. Not me, lost some weight on that day. :-)

Otis and Batman are on the kitchen counter. Nothing unusual there. I like Batman's tail, and Otis's tail is conveniently between Batman's legs.
Jimmy's favorite activity. His tail always curls like this when he's peeing on a neighbor's bushes. lol
Happy Caturday: Happy Tails
Morning sunlight highlights a small forest of cat tails at Humboldt Lagoon State Park, as the last wispy remnants of the morning marine layer dissipates into the atmosphere. The stretch of California coastline between Arcata and the Oregon border is littered with natural scenic wonders. A photographer could spend weeks here and not chronicle its entirety. I myself could drink Canada dry before shooting the half of it.
Update: apparently these are not cattails, but phragmites. Oh well, to me they look like real cat tails so I'll let my title stand.

I guess that you might be able to find a head in there and call it heads or tails, but if you take a quick glance you might just see two tails. The photo was taken a low tide on Horsepen Bayou in Alligator Alley. These two 12 footers will not be friends when mating season comes, and they are trying to court the females in the area. You can see the normal water line on the back and see how easy it is for the alligator to be just below the surface of the water. The water is hardly ever clear and so they are not easy to spot. I’ll add that once they are in the water that sensors in their body let them know your EXACT location no matter how quietly you think you are moving.
A quick footnote that these are both males because female don't get this large.

I got out for a second time to capture Comet Neowise this time heading for a dark spot around the Daymark Tower near Kingswear. Conditions were great with clearing skies and getting their before sunset was able to work out the best place to capture the Comet. I took a lot of images of the Comet and the Milkyway and even captured the ISS. Most of the shots I took were wide angle but for this one I wanted to capture both tails, the white dust tail and the blue Ion tail. I took 19 6 second shots at 130mm and then used Sequator to stack them finsihing off with Lightroom. I must say I was pretty please with the result.
