This thing is narrow-gauge and articulated, with driving wheels at both ends and nothing in between. It's huge, the largest steam engine built in europe. And nuts. And 4-8-2, 2-8-4 (if you really wanted to know).
Snapped a P.O. that was sitting on the side doing Laser Speed Checks (NY State Police use Laser instead of Radar, its instant and quite acurate and impossible to work your way out of that ticket (which ironically i have never had a speeding ticket in my home state of NY, helps that you have lawyer connections too.... ;-) )
This building, the boys beside it and the infants are being demolished to make way for a modern primary school. I walk past here most days, the leaves are pretty...
Built in Manchester, installed in Burnley. Though, I suppose it's only mental to think of steam engines being installed as late as 1926 if you forget that they were building steam locomotives for the railway in the 1960s
