Buku ini pada dasarnya adalah buku perbandingan teologi Islam, dan bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman tentang peranan para ulama kalam (teolog Islam) dalam membina aqidah islam, yang dimulakan dengan pembentukan aliran, dan dalam perjalanan dan perkembangannya dipenuhi dengan berbagai perselisihan dan perdebatan ilmiah. Dalam buku ini dijelaskan bahwa segala yang diperdebatkan oleh ulama kalam tidak menyentuh hal-hal asasi tauhid dalam arti mereka semua sepakat pada dasar tauhid (Ushul), dan hanya berbeda pada cabang permaslahan tauhid (far’iyyah).

Buku ini juga menjelaskan bagaimana sikap ulama Fiqh dan lainya tentang kedudukan ilmu kalam, yang oleh para ulama kalam sendiri mengaku bahwa fokus dan sasaran ilmu ini adalah untuk membantah tudingan-tudingan atau kritikan-kritikan non muslim terhadap aqidah Islam.

إن مسألة الخلاف في الرأي أمر طبيعي ومشروع لقوله تعالى: وَلَوْ شَاء رَبُّكَ لَجَعَلَ النَّاسَ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَلاَ يَزَالُونَ مُخْتَلِفِينَ -هود: 118-. ومن الخلاف في الرأي نشأ الخلاف في المذاهب والفِرَق. وعِلْمُ الكَلاَم علم يهتم بدراسة العقائد الإسلامية ويدافع عنها، ويرد الشبهات التي تثار حولها بالأدلة العقلية والبراهين الجدلية، مستحدثا في ذلك مصطلحات استمدها من الفلسفة وطرقاً استنبطها منها.

ومن هنا فَيُعَدُّ علم الكلام من القضايا الشائكة لكثرة النزاع والخلاف والجدل بين علماء الإسلام، وهذا كتاب عن تمهيد في علم الكلام بعنوان: "مدخل إلى علم الكلام -تمهيد ومنهج-"، وحاولت بقدر الإمكان أن يكون هذا الكتاب سهلا واضحا ومفيدا نافعا لمبتدئي الطلبة أو طلاب العلم في الحقل العقائدي والكلامي، ذلك لأن الكتاب عبارة عن مدخل تمهيدي لمن أراد الدخول للزاد.

والكتاب يحتوي على ثمانية فصول ومباحث لكل فصل، ويبدأ الكتاب بالمقدمة وينتهي بالخاتمة وقائمة المصادر والمراجع.

Nama sebenar Syeikh Muhammad Abduh ialah Muhammad bin Abduh bin Hasan Khairullah.

Bapanya, Abduh bin Hasan Khairullah, merupakan seorang petani dan mempunyai salasilah keturunan dengan bangsa Turki. Ibunya, Junaidah Uthman, dikatakan mempunyai salasilah perhubungan dengan Saidina Umar bin al-Khattab r.a.. Nama Abduh diambil daripada hadis Nabi Muhammad s.a.w., iaitu abduhu wa rasuluh.

Beliau dilahirkan pada tahun 1849 Masihi bersamaan dengan 1265 Hijrah di Kampung Mahallat Nasr, Mukim Sujubrakhit, Daerah Buhairah, Mesir.

Syeikh Muhammad Abduh Juga meninggalkan beberapa karya yang bermutu dan menjadi sumber rujukan utama dalam dunia Islam seperti:

The tree of life is a fundamental archetype in many of the world's mythological, religious, and philosophical traditions. It is closely related to the concept of the sacred tree.[1] The tree of knowledge connecting to heaven and the underworld such as Yggdrasil and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in Genesis, and the tree of life, connecting all forms of creation, are forms of the world tree or cosmic tree,[2] and are portrayed in various religions and philosophies as the same tree.[3]

 

Religion and mythology

Various trees of life are recounted in folklore, culture and fiction, often relating to immortality or fertility. They had their origin in religious symbolism. According to professor Elvyra Usačiovaitė, a "typical" imagery preserved in ancient iconography is that of two symmetrical figures facing each other, with a tree standing in the middle. The two characters may variously represent rulers, gods, and even a deity and a human follower.[4]

 

Ancient Mesopotamia

The Assyrian tree of life was represented by a series of nodes and crisscrossing lines. It was apparently an important religious symbol, often attended to in Assyrian palace reliefs by human or eagle-headed winged genies, or the King, and blessed or fertilized with bucket and cone. Assyriologists have not reached consensus as to the meaning of this symbol. The name "Tree of Life" has been attributed to it by modern scholarship; it is not used in the Assyrian sources. In fact, no textual evidence pertaining to the symbol is known to exist.

  

The Urartian tree of life

The Epic of Gilgamesh is a similar quest for immortality. In Babylonian religion, Etana, the King of Kish, searched for a 'plant of birth' to provide him with a son. This has a solid provenance of antiquity, being found in cylinder seals from the Akkadian Empire (2390–2249 BCE).

 

Urartu

In Urartu in the Armenian highlands, the tree of life was a religious symbol and was drawn on walls of fortresses and carved on the armor of warriors. The branches of the tree were equally divided on the right and left sides of the stem, with each branch having one leaf, and one leaf on the apex of the tree. Servants stood on each side of the tree with one of their hands up as if they are taking care of the tree.

 

Ancient Iran

In the Avestan literature and Iranian mythology, there are several sacred vegetal icons related to life, eternality and cure, such as Amesha Spenta; Ameretat, the guardian of plants and goddess of trees and immortality; Gaokerena or white haoma, a tree that its vivacity would certify continuance of life in the universe; the bas tokhmak, a tree with remedial attribute, retentive of all herbal seeds, and destroyer of sorrow; Mashya and Mashyana, the parents of the human race; barsom, copped offshoots of pomegranate, gaz (Tamarix gallica), or haoma that Zoroastrians use in their rituals; and haoma, a plant, unknown today, that was the source of sacred potable.[5]

 

The Gaokerena is a large, sacred haoma planted by Ahura Mazda. Ahriman created a frog to invade the tree and destroy it, aiming to prevent all trees from growing on the earth. As a reaction, Ahura Mazda created two kar-fish staring at the frog to guard the tree. The two fish are always staring at the frog and stay ready to react to it. Ahriman is responsible for all evil including death; Ahura Mazda is responsible for all good (including life).

 

Haoma is another sacred plant due to the drink made from it. The preparation of the drink from the plant by pounding and the drinking of it are central features of Zoroastrian ritual. Haoma is also personified as a divinity. It bestows essential vital qualities—health, fertility, husbands for maidens, even immortality. The source of the earthly haoma plant is a shining white tree that grows on a paradisiacal mountain. Sprigs of this white haoma were brought to earth by divine birds. The tree is considerably diverse.

 

Haoma is the Avestan form of the Sanskrit soma. The identity of the two in ritual significance is considered by scholars to point to a salient feature of an Indo-Iranian religion antedating Zoroastrianism.[6][7]

 

Another related issue in ancient mythology of Iran is the myth of Mashya and Mashyana, two trees that were the ancestors of all living beings. This myth can be considered as a prototype for the creation myth where living beings are created by Gods.

 

Hinduism

A genre of the sacred books of Hinduism, the Puranas, mention a divine tree called the Kalpavriksha. This divine tree is guarded by gandharvas in the garden of the mythological city of Amaravati under the control of Indra, the king of the devas. In one story, for a very long time, the devas and the asuras decided to churn the milky ocean to obtain amrita, the nectar of immortality, and share it equally. During the churning, along with many other mythical items, emerged the Kalpavriksha. It is described to be gold in colour and bear a mesmerising aura. It is said to be pleased with chanting and offers: when it is pleased, it grants every wish. Hindu tradition holds that there are five separate kalpavrikshas and each of them grant different types of wishes. These trees also appear in the beliefs of Jainism.[8]

In Chinese mythology, a carving of a tree of life depicts a phoenix and a dragon; the dragon often represents immortality. A Taoist story tells of a tree that produces a peach of immortality every three thousand years, and anyone who eats the fruit receives immortality.

 

An archaeological discovery in the 1990s was of a sacrificial pit at Sanxingdui in Sichuan, China. Dating from about 1200 BCE, it contained three bronze trees, one of them 4 meters high. At the base was a dragon, and fruit hanging from the lower branches. At the top is a bird-like (Phoenix) creature with claws. Also found in Sichuan, from the late Han dynasty (c. 25–220 CE), is another tree of life. The ceramic base is guarded by a horned beast with wings. The leaves of the tree represent coins and people. At the apex is a bird with coins and the Sun.

 

Christianity

The tree of life first appears in Genesis 2:9 and 3:22–24 as the source of eternal life in the Garden of Eden, from which access is revoked when man is driven from the garden. It then reappears in the last book of the Bible, the Book of Revelation, and most predominantly in the last chapter of that book (Chapter 22) as a part of the new garden of paradise. Access is then no longer forbidden, for those who "wash their robes" (or as the textual variant in the King James Version has it, "they that do his commandments") "have right to the tree of life" (v. 14). A similar statement appears in Rev 2:7, where the tree of life is promised as a reward to those who overcome. Revelation 22 begins with a reference to the "pure river of water of life" which proceeds "out of the throne of God". The river seems to feed two trees of life, one "on either side of the river" which "bear twelve manner of fruits" "and the leaves of the tree were for healing of the nations" (v. 1–2).[9] Alternatively, this may indicate that the tree of life is a vine that grows on both sides of the river, as John 15:1 would hint at.

 

Pope Benedict XVI has said that "the Cross is the true tree of life."[10] Saint Bonaventure taught that the medicinal fruit of the tree of life is Christ himself.[11] Saint Albert the Great taught that the Eucharist, the Body and Blood of Christ, is the Fruit of the Tree of Life.[12] Augustine of Hippo said that the tree of life is Christ:

 

All these things stood for something other than what they were, but all the same they were themselves bodily realities. And when the narrator mentioned them he was not employing figurative language, but giving an explicit account of things which had a forward reference that was figurative. So then the tree of life also was Christ... and indeed God did not wish the man to live in Paradise without the mysteries of spiritual things being presented to him in bodily form. So then in the other trees he was provided with nourishment, in this one with a sacrament... He is rightly called whatever came before him in order to signify him.[13]

 

In Eastern Christianity the tree of life is the love of God.[14]

 

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Main article: Tree of life vision

The tree of life vision is described and discussed in the Book of Mormon. According to the Book of Mormon, the vision was received in a dream by the prophet Lehi, and later in a vision by his son Nephi, who wrote about it in the First Book of Nephi. The vision includes a path leading to a tree, the fruit of the tree symbolizing the love of God, with an iron rod, symbolizing the word of God, along the path whereby followers of Jesus may hold to the rod and avoid wandering off the path into pits or waters symbolizing the ways of sin. The vision also includes a large building wherein the wicked look down at the righteous and mock them.

 

The vision is said to symbolize love of Christ and the way to eternal life and is a well known and cited story with members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A member of the church reflected that the vision is "one of the richest, most flexible, and far-reaching pieces of symbolic prophecy contained in the standard works [scriptures]."[15]

 

Nag Hammadi Gnosticism

Different views on the Tree of life can be found in the Nag Hammadi library codices, writings belonging to Gnosticism. In On the Origin of the World, the Tree of Life is said to be located to the north of paradise, providing life to the innocent saints who will come out of their material bodies during what is called the consummation of the age. The color of the tree is described as resembling the Sun, its branches are beautiful, its leaves are similar to that of cypress, and its fruit is like clusters of white grapes. However, in the Secret Book of John, the Tree of Life is portrayed negatively. Its roots are described as bitter, its branches are death, its shadow is hatred, a trap is found in its leaves, its seed is desire, and it blossoms in the darkness.[16]

 

Manichaeism

In the Gnostic religion Manichaeism, the Tree of Life helped Adam obtain the knowledge (gnosis) necessary for salvation and is identified as an image of Jesus.[17]

 

Europe

In Greek mythology, Hera is gifted a branch growing golden apples by her grandmother Gaia, which are then planted in Hera's Garden of the Hesperides. The dragon Ladon guards the tree(s) from all who would take the apples. The three golden apples that Aphrodite gave to Hippomenes to distract Atalanta three times during their footrace allowed him to win Atalanta's hand in marriage. Though it is not specified in ancient myth, many assume that Aphrodite gathered those apples from Hera's tree(s). Eris stole one of these apples and carved the words ΤΗΙ ΚΑΛΛΙΣΤΗΙ, "to the fairest", upon it to create the Apple of Discord. Heracles retrieved three of the apples as the eleventh of his Twelve Labors. The Garden of the Hesperides is often compared to Eden, the golden apples are compared to the forbidden fruit of the tree in Genesis, and Ladon is often compared to the snake in Eden, all of which is part of why the forbidden fruit of Eden is usually represented as an apple in European art, even though Genesis does not specifically name nor describe any characteristics of the fruit.

In Dictionnaire Mytho-Hermetique (Paris, 1737), Antoine-Joseph Pernety, a famous alchemist, identified the tree of life with the Elixir of life and the Philosopher's Stone.

 

In Eden in the East (1998), Stephen Oppenheimer suggests that a tree-worshipping culture arose in Indonesia and was diffused by the so-called "Younger Dryas" event of c. 10,900 BCE or 12,900 BP, after which the sea level rose. This culture reached China (Sichuan), then India and the Middle East. Finally the Finno-Ugric strand of this diffusion spread through Russia to Finland where the Norse myth of Yggdrasil took root.

 

The Celtic god Lugus was associated with the Celtic version of the tree of life.

 

Georgia

The Borjgali (Georgian: ბორჯღალი) is an ancient Georgian tree of life symbol.

 

Germanic paganism and Norse mythology

In Germanic paganism, trees played (and, in the form of reconstructive Heathenry and Germanic Neopaganism, continue to play) a prominent role, appearing in various aspects of surviving texts and possibly in the name of gods.

 

The tree of life appears in Norse religion as Yggdrasil, the world tree, a massive tree (sometimes considered a yew or ash tree) with extensive lore surrounding it. Perhaps related to Yggdrasil, accounts have survived of Germanic Tribes honouring sacred trees within their societies. Examples include Thor's Oak, sacred groves, the Sacred tree at Uppsala, and the wooden Irminsul pillar. In Norse Mythology, the apples from Iðunn's ash box provide immortality for the gods.

 

Islam

The "Tree of Immortality" (Arabic: شجرة الخلود) is the tree of life motif as it appears in the Quran. It is also alluded to in hadiths and tafsir. Unlike the biblical account, the Quran mentions only one tree in Eden, also called " the tree of immortality and power that never decays",[18] which God specifically forbade to Adam and Eve.[19][20]

 

The tree in Quran is used as an example of a concept, idea, way of life or code of life. A good concept/idea is represented as a good tree and a bad idea/concept is represented as a bad tree[21] Muslims believe that when God created Adam and Eve, he told them that they could enjoy everything in the Garden except this tree (idea, concept, way of life).Satan appeared to them and told them that the only reason God forbade them to eat from that tree was that they would become angels or they start using the idea/concept of Ownership in conjunction with inheritance generations after generations which Iblis convinced Adam to accept[18][22]

 

When Adam and Eve ate from this tree their nakedness appeared to them and they began to sew together, for their covering, leaves from the Garden.[23]

 

The hadiths also speak about other trees in heaven.[24]

 

The tree of life in Islamic architecture is a type of biomorphic pattern found in many artistic traditions. It is considered to be any vegetal pattern with a clear origin or growth. The pattern in al-Azhar Mosque, Cairo's mihrab, a unique Fatimid architectural variation, is a series of two or three leave palmettes with a central palmette of five leaves from which the pattern originates. The growth is upwards and outwards and culminates in a lantern like flower towards the top of the niche above which is a small roundel. The curvature of the niche accentuates the undulating movement which despite its complexity is symmetrical along its vertical axis. The representations of varying palm leaves hints to spiritual growth attained through prayer while the upwards and side wards movement of the leaves speaks to the different motions of the worshiper while in salah.[25]

 

Ahmadiyya

According to the Indian Ahmadiyya movement founded in 1889, Quranic reference to the tree is symbolic; eating of the forbidden tree signifies that Adam disobeyed God.[26][27]

 

Jewish sources

Etz Chaim (Hebrew: עץ חיים), Hebrew for "tree of life," is a common term used in Judaism. The expression, found in the Book of Proverbs, is figuratively applied to the Torah itself. Etz Chaim is also a common name for yeshivas and synagogues as well as for works of Rabbinic literature. It is also used to describe each of the wooden poles to which the parchment of a Sefer Torah is attached.

 

The tree of life is mentioned in the Book of Genesis; it is distinct from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. After Adam and Eve disobeyed God by eating fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, they were driven out of the Garden of Eden. Remaining in the garden, however, was the tree of life. To prevent their access to this tree in the future, Cherubim with a flaming sword were placed at the east of the garden.[28]

 

In the Book of Proverbs, the tree of life is associated with wisdom: "[Wisdom] is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her, and happy [is every one] that retaineth her."[29] In Proverbs 15:4, the tree of life is associated with calmness: "A soothing tongue is a tree of life; but perverseness therein is a wound to the spirit."[30][31]

 

In the Ashkenazic liturgy, the Eitz Chayim is a piyyut commonly sung as the Sefer Torah is returned to the Torah ark.

 

The Book of Enoch, generally considered non-canonical, states that in the time of the great judgment, God will give all those whose names are in the Book of Life fruit to eat from the tree of life.[citation needed]

 

Kabbalah

Jewish mysticism depicts the tree of life in the form of ten interconnected nodes, as the central symbol of the Kabbalah. It comprises the ten Sefirot powers in the divine realm. The panentheistic and anthropomorphic emphasis of this emanationist theology interpreted the Torah, Jewish observance, and the purpose of Creation as the symbolic esoteric drama of unification in the sefirot, restoring harmony to Creation.

 

From the Renaissance onwards, Kabbalah became incorporated as tradition in Christian Western esotericism as Hermetic Qabalah.

 

Mandaeism

Mandaean scrolls often include abstract illustrations of trees of life that represent the living, interconnected nature of the cosmos.[32] One of these trees is given the name of Shatrin.[33]

 

Mesoamerica

The concept of world trees is a prevalent motif in the Mesoamerican cosmovision and iconography, appearing in the pre-Columbian era. World trees embody the four cardinal directions, which represented also the fourfold nature of a central world tree, a symbolic axis mundi connecting the planes of the Underworld and the sky with that of the terrestrial world.[36]

 

Depictions of world trees, both in their directional and central aspects, are found in the art and mythological traditions of cultures such as the Maya, Aztec, Izapan, Mixtec, Olmec, and others, dating to at least the Mid/Late Formative periods of the Mesoamerican chronology. The tomb of Kʼinich Janaabʼ Pakal of the Maya city-state of Palenque, who became its ajaw or leader when he was twelve years old, has tree of life inscriptions within the walls of his burial place, showing just how important it was.[37] Among the Maya, the central world tree was conceived as or represented by a Ceiba pentandra and is known variously as a wacah chan or yax imix che in different Mayan languages.[38]

 

The trunk of the tree could also be represented by an upright caiman, whose skin evokes the tree's spiny trunk.[36]

 

Directional world trees are also associated with the four Year Bearers in Mesoamerican calendars and associated with the directional colors and deities. Mesoamerican codices which have this association outlined include the Dresden, Borgia and Fejérváry-Mayer codices.[36] It is supposed that Mesoamerican sites and ceremonial centers frequently had actual trees planted at each of the four cardinal directions, representing the quadripartite concept.

 

World trees are frequently depicted with birds in their branches, and their roots extending into earth or water, sometimes atop a "water-monster," symbolic of the underworld. The central world tree has also been interpreted as a representation of the band of the Milky Way.[39]

 

Northern America

In a myth passed down among the Iroquois, The World on the Turtle's Back, explains the origin of the land in which a tree of life is described. According to the myth, it is found in the heavens, where the first humans lived, until a pregnant woman fell and landed in an endless sea. Saved by a giant turtle from drowning, she formed the world on its back by planting bark taken from the tree.

 

The tree of life motif is present in the traditional Ojibway cosmology and traditions. It is sometimes described as Grandmother Cedar, or Nookomis Giizhig in Anishinaabemowin.

 

In the book Black Elk Speaks, Black Elk, an Oglala Lakota (Sioux) wičháša wakȟáŋ (medicine man and holy man), describes his vision in which after dancing around a dying tree that has never bloomed he is transported to the other world (spirit world) where he meets wise elders, 12 men and 12 women. The elders tell Black Elk that they will bring him to meet "Our Father, the two-legged chief" and bring him to the center of a hoop where he sees the tree in full leaf and bloom and the "chief" standing against the tree. Coming out of his trance he hopes to see that the earthly tree has bloomed, but it is dead.[40]

 

The Oneidas tell that supernatural beings lived in the Skyworld above the waters which covered the earth. This tree was covered with fruits which gave them their light, and they were instructed that no one should cut into the tree otherwise a great punishment would be given. As the woman had pregnancy cravings, she sent her husband to get bark, but he accidentally dug a hole to the other world. After falling through, she came to rest on the turtle's back, and four animals were sent out to find land, which the muskrat finally did.[41]

 

Serer religion

In Serer religion, the tree of life as a religious concept forms the basis of Serer cosmogony. Trees were the first things created on Earth by the supreme being Roog ("Koox" among the Cangin). In the competing versions of the Serer creation myth, the Somb (Anonychium africana) and the Saas tree (Faidherbia albida) are both viewed as trees of life.[42] However, the prevailing view is that, the Somb was the first tree on Earth and the progenitor of plant life.[42][43] The Somb was also used in the Serer tumuli and burial chambers, many of which have survived for more than a thousand years.[42] Thus, Somb is not only the tree of life in Serer society but the symbol of immortality.[42]

 

Turkic

The tree of life connects the upper world, middle world and underworld. It is also imagined as the "white creator lord" (yryn-al-tojon),[44] thus synonymous with the creator deity, giving rise to different worlds.

 

The world tree or tree of life is an important symbol in Turkic mythology.[45] It is a common motif in carpets. It is used in the logo of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (Turkey) and in 2009 it was introduced as the main design of the common Turkish lira sub-unit 5 kuruş.

 

Tree of life is known as Ulukayın or Baiterek in Turkic communities. It is a sacred beech tree planted by Kayra Han. Sometimes, it is considered axis mundi.[46]

 

Baháʼí Faith

The concept of the tree of life appears in the writings of the Baháʼí Faith, where it can refer to the Manifestation of God, a great teacher who appears to humanity from age to age. An example of this can be found in the Hidden Words of Bahá'u'lláh:[47][48]

 

"Have ye forgotten that true and radiant morn, when in those hallowed and blessed surroundings ye were all gathered in My presence beneath the shade of the tree of life, which is planted in the all-glorious paradise? Awestruck ye listened as I gave utterance to these three most holy words: O friends! Prefer not your will to Mine, never desire that which I have not desired for you, and approach Me not with lifeless hearts, defiled with worldly desires and cravings. Would ye but sanctify your souls, ye would at this present hour recall that place and those surroundings, and the truth of My utterance should be made evident unto all of you."

 

Also, in the Tablet of Ahmad of Bahá'u'lláh: "Verily He is the Tree of Life, that bringeth forth the fruits of God, the Exalted, the Powerful, the Great".[49]

 

Bahá'u'lláh refers to his male descendants as branches (Arabic: ﺍﻏﺼﺎﻥ ʾaghṣān)[50] and calls women leaves.[51]

 

A distinction has been made between the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The latter represents the physical world with its opposites, such as good and evil and light and dark. In a different context from the one above, the tree of life represents the spiritual realm, where this duality does not exist.[52]

 

In art and film

Austrian symbolist artist Gustav Klimt portrayed his version of the tree of life in his painting, The Tree of Life, Stoclet Frieze. This iconic painting later inspired the external facade of the "New Residence Hall" (also called the "Tree House"), a colorful 21-story student residence hall at Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston, Massachusetts.[53]

 

Alex Proyas' 2009 film Knowing ends with the two young protagonists directed towards the tree of life.[54]

 

The 2006 Darren Aronofsky film The Fountain features the Judeo-Christian tree of life as a major plot element in its non-linear narrative. In Central America during the Age of Discovery, it is the sought-after object of a Spanish conquistador, who believes its gift of eternal life will free Spain and its queen from the tyranny of a religious inquisition. In the present day, a sample from what is implied to be the same tree of life is used by a medical researcher—who seeks a cure for his ailing wife—to develop a serum that reverses the biological aging process. In the distant future, a space traveler (implied to be the same man from the present) uses the last vestiges of a tree's bark (again, implied to be the same tree of life) to keep himself alive as he journeys to Xibalba, a fictional dying star lying inside a nebula in the constellation Orion, which he believes will rejuvenate the tree—thereby granting him eternal life—when it explodes.[55]

 

There are literal and thematic references to the tree in Terrence Malick's free-flowing 2012 film The Tree of Life, including in the title.

 

The 2021 adventure film Jungle Cruise follows a boat captain (Dwayne Johnson) who takes a scientist (Emily Blunt) on a quest to find the Tree.[56]

 

Physical "trees of life"

In West Africa, the South Asian Moringa oleifera tree is regarded as a "tree of life" or "miracle tree" by some because it is arguably the most nutritious source of plant-derived food discovered on the planet.[57] Modern scientists and some missionary groups have considered the plant as a possible solution for the treatment of severe malnutrition[58] and aid for those with HIV/AIDS.[59]

A sacred tree or holy tree is a tree which is considered to be sacred, or worthy of spiritual respect or reverence. Tree worship is core part of religions which include aspects of animism as core elements of their belief, which is the belief that trees, forests, rivers, mountains, etc have a life force ('anime', i.e., alive).

Tsukise no Osugi is a 1,800-year-old sacred tree in Japan's Nagano Prefecture.

An example of the continued importance of sacred trees in contemporary urban culture is the 700-year old camphor growing in the middle of Kayashima Station. Locals protested against moving the tree when the railway station had to be expanded, so the station was built around it.[1] The sacred Banyan tree is the national tree of India, and the Bodhi Tree under which the Buddha is said to have meditated in Bodh Gaya, is also revered as sacred.

 

Sacred trees are some times planted in sacred groves, which may also have other types of trees too.[2]

In Judaism and Christianity, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Tiberian Hebrew: עֵץ הַדַּעַת טוֹב וָרָע, romanized: ʿêṣ had-daʿaṯ ṭōḇ wā-rāʿ, [ʕesˤ hadaʕaθ tˤov wɔrɔʕ]; Latin: Lignum scientiae boni et mali) is one of two specific trees in the story of the Garden of Eden in Genesis 2–3, along with the tree of life. Alternatively, some scholars have argued that the tree of the knowledge of good and evil is just another name for the tree of life.[1]

 

In Genesis

Narrative

Genesis 2 narrates that God places the man, Adam, in a garden with trees whose fruits he may eat, but forbids him to eat from "the tree of the knowledge of good and evil". God forms a woman, Eve, after this command is given. In Genesis 3, a serpent persuades Eve to eat from its forbidden fruit and she also lets Adam taste it. Consequently, God expels them from the garden.

 

Meaning of good and evil

The phrase in Hebrew, טוֹב וָרָע (tov wa-raʿ) literally translates as "good and evil". This may be an example of the type of figure of speech known as merism, a literary device that pairs opposite terms together in order to create a general meaning, so that the phrase "good and evil" would simply imply "everything". This is seen in the Egyptian expression "evil-good", which is normally employed to mean "everything".[2] However, if "tree of the knowledge of good and evil" is to be understood to mean a tree whose fruit imparts knowledge of everything, this phrase does not necessarily denote a moral concept. This view is held by several scholars.[2][3][4]

 

Given the context of disobedience to God, other interpretations of the implications of this phrase also demand consideration. Robert Alter emphasizes the point that when God forbids the man to eat from that particular tree, he says that if he does so, he is "doomed to die." The Hebrew behind this is in a form regularly used in the Hebrew Bible for issuing death sentences.[5]

 

However, there are myriad modern scholarly interpretations regarding the term הדעת טוב ורע (Hada'at tov wa-ra "the knowledge of good and evil") in Genesis 2–3, such as wisdom, omniscience, sexual knowledge, moral discrimination, maturity, and other qualities. According to scholar Nathan French, the term likely means "the knowledge for administering reward and punishment," suggesting that the knowledge forbidden by Yahweh and yet acquired by the humans in Genesis 2–3 is the wisdom for wielding ultimate power.[6]

 

Religious views

Judaism

Jewish sources suggest different possible identities for the tree: a fig tree (as fig leaves were used to clothe Adam and Eve after the sin), a grape vine (as "nothing brings wailing to the world like wine"), a stalk of wheat (as "a child does not know how to say Father and Mother until he tastes grain"),[7] an etrog (as the description in Genesis 3:6 matches the etrog fruit's beautiful appearance,[8] or else the etrog tree's allegedly tasty bark[9]), or a nut tree.[10]

 

In Jewish tradition, the Tree of Knowledge and the eating of its fruit represents the beginning of the mixture of good and evil together. Before that time, the two were separate, and evil had only a nebulous existence in potential. While free choice did exist before eating the fruit, evil existed as an entity separate from the human psyche, and it was not in human nature to desire it. Eating and internalizing the forbidden fruit changed this, and thus was born the yetzer hara, the evil inclination.[11][12]

 

According to Rashi, the sin came about because Eve added an additional clause to the divine command: "Neither shall you touch it." By saying this, Eve added to YHWH's command, and thereby came to detract from it, as it is written: "Do not add to His Words" (Proverbs 30:6).[13] However, In Legends of the Jews, it was Adam who had devoutly forbidden Eve to touch the tree even though God had only mentioned the eating of the fruit.[14]

 

According to one source, Eve also fed the fruit to the animals, leading to their mortality as well.[15]

 

In the Kabbalah, the sin of the Tree of Knowledge (called Cheit Eitz HaDa'at) brought about the great task of beirurim, sifting through the mixture of good and evil in the world to extract and liberate the sparks of holiness trapped therein.[16] Since evil no longer had independent existence, it henceforth depended on holiness to draw down the Divine life-force, on whose "leftovers" it then feeds and derives existence.[17] Once evil is separated from holiness through beirurim, its source of life is cut off, causing the evil to disappear. This is accomplished through observance of the 613 commandments in the Torah, which deal primarily with physical objects wherein good and evil are mixed together.[18][19][20] The sin of the Tree caused God's presence (Shechinah) to depart from earth;[21] in kabbalah, the task of beirurim rectifies the sin of the Tree and causes the Shechinah to return.

In Christian tradition, consuming the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil was the original sin committed by Adam and Eve that led to the fall of man in Genesis 3.

 

Augustine of Hippo taught that the "tree" should be understood both symbolically and as a real tree – similarly to Jerusalem being both a real city and a figure of Heavenly Jerusalem.[22] Augustine underlined that the fruits of that tree were not evil by themselves, because everything that God created "was good" (Genesis 1:12). It was disobedience of Adam and Eve, who had been told by God not to eat off the tree (Genesis 2:17), that caused disorder in the creation,[23] thus humanity inherited sin and guilt from Adam and Eve's sin.[24]

 

In Western Christian art, the fruit of the tree is commonly depicted as the apple, which originated in central Asia. This depiction may have originated as a Latin pun: by eating the mālum (apple), Eve contracted malum (evil).[25][26][27] According to the Bible, there is nothing to show the forbidden fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil was necessarily an apple.[28]

 

Gnosticism

Uniquely, the Gnostic religion held that the tree was entirely positive or even sacred. Per this saga, it was the archons who told Adam and Eve not to eat from its fruit, before lying to them by claiming they would die after tasting it. Later in the story, an instructor is sent from the Pleroma by the aeons to save humanity and reveal gnosis. This savior does so by telling Adam and Eve that eating the fruit is the way into salvation. Examples of the narrative can be found within the Gnostic manuscripts On the Origin of the World and the Secret Book of John.[29]

 

Manichaeism, which has been considered a Gnostic sect,[30] echoes these notions as well, presenting the primordial aspect of Jesus as the instructor.[31]

 

Islam

The Quran never refers to the tree as the "tree of the knowledge of good and evil" but rather typically refers to it as "the tree" or (in the words of Iblis) as the "tree of immortality."[32] Muslims believe that when God created Adam and Eve, he told them that they could enjoy everything in the Garden except this tree and so Satan appeared to them, telling them the only reason God forbade them to eat from the tree was that they would become angels or immortal.[33]

 

When they ate from this tree, their nakedness appeared to them, and they began to sew together leaves from the Garden for their covering.[34] The Quran mentions the sin as being a 'slip'.[35] Consequently, they repented to God and asked for his forgiveness,[36] and were forgiven.[37] In Islamic tradition, the forbidden fruit is considered wheat or barley, not an apple as within Western Christian tradition.[38]

 

In Quran Al-A'raf 27, God states:

 

[O] Children of Adam! Let not Satan tempt you as he brought your parents out of the Garden, stripping them of their garments to show them their shameful parts. Surely he [Satan] sees you, he and his tribe, from where you see them not. We have made the Satans the friends of those who do not believe.

A cylinder seal, known as the Adam and Eve cylinder seal, from post-Akkadian periods in Mesopotamia (c. 23rd – 22nd century BCE) has been linked to the Adam and Eve story. Assyriologist George Smith (1840–1876) described the seal as having two facing figures (male and female) seated on each side of a tree, holding out their hands to the fruit, while between their backs is a serpent, giving evidence that the fall of man account was known in early times of Babylonia.[39]

 

The British Museum disputes this interpretation, and holds that it is a common image from the period depicting a male deity being worshipped by a woman, with no reason to connect the scene with the Book of Genesis.[40]

The Holy Prophet (S) has also said that when a believer will have to cross the Pul-e-Siraat on the Day of Judgement, and he will say “Bismillah…” then the flames beneath him will start dying down until Jahannam will cry out, ‘O believer, pass through quickly, your presence is causing my fire to die out !’ When a teacher teaches a child to recite “Bismillah…” the child, his parents and the teacher are all guaranteed freedom from hellfire. It is narrated that Prophet Isa (a.s.) was once passing by a graveyard and he saw a grave upon which the Wrath and Punishment of Allah (S.w.T.) was descending, so he quietly walked past. When he passed the same place after some time, he noticed that the Mercy and Blessings of Allah (S.w.T.) was being showered on the same grave. He was surprised at this and asked Allah (S.w.T.) about what has happened and it was revealed to him that the man inside the grave was a sinner and was thus being punished for his sins. When he died, his wife was pregnant and soon gave birth to a son. MUI mengeluarkan pernyataan resmi terkait Gerakan Fajar Nusantara (Gafatar). Organisasi itu dinilai telah mencampuradukkan ajaran agama. “Mereka meramu tiga agama. Ada bukunya,” ujar Ketua Komisi Pengkajian dan Penelitian MUI, Utang Ranuwijaya, dalam pernyataan resminya. Ia juga menyatakan pengikut Gafatar juga meyakini adanya nabi setelah Nabi Muhammad. Sosok nabi yang dianggap telah memperoleh wahyu dari Tuhan adalah Ahmad Musadeq. (Detikcom, 2/2).

 

Komentar : Ajaran Gafatar jelas merupakan aliran sesat, sesuai 10 kriteria MUI. Maraknya aliran sesat di negeri ini adalah karena sekularisme, kebebadan dan HAM. Saatnya semua segera segera dicampakkan. Untuk itu perlu diterapkan syariah di bawah sistem Khilafah Rasyidah ‘ala minhaj an-nubuwwah, niscaya Islam dan umatnya akan terlindungi dari bahaya aliran sesat.

1. Mengingkari rukun iman (Iman kepada Allah, Malaikat, Kitab Suci, Rasul, Hari Akhir, Qadla dan Qadar) dan rukun Islam (Mengucapkan 2 kalimat syahadah, sholat 5 waktu, puasa, zakat, dan Haji).

 

2. Meyakini dan atau mengikuti akidah yang tidak sesuai dalil syar`i (Alquran dan as-sunah).

 

3. Meyakini turunnya wahyu setelah Alquran.

 

4. Mengingkari otentisitas dan atau kebenaran isi Alquran.

 

5. Melakukan penafsiran Alquran yang tidak berdasarkan kaidah tafsir.

 

6. Mengingkari kedudukan hadis Nabi sebagai sumber ajaran Islam.

 

7. Melecehkan dan atau merendahkan para nabi dan rasul.

 

8. Mengingkari Nabi Muhammad SAW sebagai nabi dan rasul terakhir.

 

9. Mengubah pokok-pokok ibadah yang telah ditetapkan syariah.

 

10. Mengkafirkan sesama muslim tanpa dalil syar’i.

Ever since the earliest days of Islam, however, the term hijrah has had a spiritual connotation as well-namely, a "forsaking of the domain of evil" and turning towards God: and since this spiritual connotation applies both to the historical muhajirun ("emigrants") of early Islam and to all believers of later times who forsake all that is sinful and "migrate unto God", I am using this expression frequently." - Imam M. Saya teringat kata-kata seorang hamba Allah ni (tak ingat dah siapa o_O), "Kita ni makin lama makin jauh jarak waktu dengan Rasulullah saw. Tahun depan nak masuk 1430H dah. Ada sesetengah daripada kita ni makin lupa makin jauh hatinya dengan Rasulullah saw. Syok sangat kejar dunia, kejar harta, kejar pangkat. Tapi ada sesetengah orang pulak yang makin berlalu masa, makin rindu dengan Rasulullah saw. Kita ni agak-agaknya golongan mana ye?"

 

Satu tamparan hebat buat diri sendiri T_T

 

Suatu malam, menjelang waktu subuh, Rasulullah saw bermaksud untuk wudhu. “Apakah ada air untuk wudhu?” beliau bertanya kepada para sahabatnya. Ternyata tak ada seorang pun yang memiliki air. Yang ada hanyalah kantung kulit yang dibawahnya masih tersisa titisan-titisan air. Kantung itu pun dibawa ke hadapan Rasulullah. Beliau lalu memasukkan jari jemarinya yang mulia ke dalam kantung itu. Ketika Rasulullah mengeluarkan tangannya, terpancarlah dengan deras air dari sela-sela jarinya. Para sahabat lalu segera berwudhu dengan air suci itu. Abdullah bin Mas’ud bahkan meminum air itu.

 

Usai solat subuh, Rasulullah duduk menghadapi para sahabatnya. Beliau bertanya, “Tahukah kalian, siapa yang paling menakjubkan imannya?” Para sahabat menjawab, “Para malaikat.” “Bagaimana para malaikat tidak beriman,” ucap Rasulullah, “mereka adalah pelaksana-pelaksana perintah Allah. Pekerjaan mereka adalah melaksanakan amanah-Nya.” “Kalau begitu, para Nabi, ya Rasulallah,” berkata para sahabat. “Bagaimana para nabi tidak beriman; mereka menerima wahyu dari Allah,” jawab Rasulullah. “Kalau begitu, kami; para sahabatmu,” kata para sahabat. “Bagaimana kalian tidak beriman; kalian baru saja menyaksikan apa yang kalian saksikan,” Rasulullah merujuk kepada mukjizat yang baru saja terjadi.

 

“Lalu, siapa yang paling menakjubkan imannya itu, ya Rasulallah?” para sahabat bertanya. Rasulullah menjawab, “Mereka adalah kaum yang datang sesudahku. Mereka tidak pernah berjumpa denganku; tidak pernah melihatku. Tapi ketika mereka menemukan Al-Kitab terbuka di hadapan, mereka lalu mencintaiku dengan kecintaan yang luar biasa; sehingga sekiranya mereka harus mengorbankan seluruh hartanya agar bisa berjumpa denganku, mereka akan menjual seluruh hartanya.

 

Hadis di atas dimuat dalam Tafsir Al-Dur Al-Mantsur, karya mufasir Jalaluddin Al-Syuyuti.

 

Semoga tahun 1430H menjadi saksi kepada penghijrahan kita kepada yang lebih baik, insyaAllah.

Makhdoom Ali Mahimi (1372–1431) was a Muslim Scholar originating from the Konkan in India, widely[vague] acknowledged for his scholarly treatises, liberal views and humanist ideals. Mahimi was born into a family of Arab travelers from Iraq who had settled down on the island of Mahim, one of the seven islands that later formed the city of Bombay (now Mumbai).

Not much is known of his early childhood. He later became the disciple of Mohiuddin Ibne Arabi, a Spanish Muslim saint. Mahimi's reputation grew after the Sultan of Gujarat, Ahmed Shah of the Muzaffarid dynasty, chose him to be the town's Qazi (the Head Muslim Judge/cleric of a town).

Mahimi was the first Indian scholar to write an exegesis on the Qur'an, which gained critical acclimation from numerous Islamic scholars including Shah Waliullah. Authoring a total of nineteen books, he was given the moniker Qutb-e -Kokan (Kokan's Pole Star). His commentary (tafseer) of the Nobel Quran in Arabic "Tayseer Al-Quran" is available in Al Azhar University, Cairo and Ummul-Qura University, Makkah.

Mahimi is revered by both the Muslims and Hindus, all Muslim sects hold him in high esteem. After his death in 1431, he was buried in Mahim. The site later became a dargah (shrine) for devotees.

 

During the annual ten day Urs festival celebrated on the 13th day of Shawwal as per the Muslim calendar, millions of devotees visit his dargah.

The highlight of this is a procession of around eight thousand begins at the Mahim Police Station, believed to be the site of his residence. Two police officers from each of the eighty four city police stations represent the police whose association with the saint dates back to the saint's era. A representative of the Mumbai police who is the first to offer the "chaddar" (shawl) at the tomb on the first day of the festival. Legend has it that it was a police constable who gave water to the dying saint from his cap. Another story points to some miraculous assistance police officers once received from an old man, whom they believed was the saint, in fighting smugglers.

A room adjacent to the office of the senior inspector of police station contains a steel cupboard that houses the saint's preserved belongings such as his chair, a pair of sandals and his hand-written Qur'an which is considered to be a calligraphic work of art. The room is opened once every year to the public. In 1920 the cupboard was purchased by a senior British police inspector, Raymond Esquire as a tribute to the saint he revered.

On 2005-05-21, the government of Maharashtra named the JJ Flyover after the saint as a tribute to the saint. The 2.1 kilometre flyover is the longest viaduct in the country.

His name is Ali as well as Alauddin. His surname is Abul Hasan and the title is Zainuddin. The tribes of Nawait families were connected to the ‘Paro’ and the same that is ‘Paro’ was his family title. Being well versed in theology he was called Faquih and being a place of refuge to all and a competent authority he was called Makhdum.He was considered to be one of the saints. So, he was called, Shaikh’.

His respectable father’s name is Maulana Shaikh Ahmad who was a learned man of high grade and he was a genuine saint. He was considered to be one of the wealthy traders of Kokan.

His honourable mother’s name is Hazrat Fatima Bint (Daughter of) Nakhuda Husain Ankolia. It is said of his maternal grandfather that he was king of the traders. His venerable mother was a pious devout, an abstinent and she was very religious-minded and god-fearing. She was a saintly woman.

1) He is Makhdum Ali Bin Ahmad and known as Ibn (son) of Bint (daughter of) Husain Nakuda Ankolia. This statement (opinion) has been adapted from a book namely Khatib Kalyani in an Arabic magazine Zamirul Insaan.

2) He is Ali Bin Hasan Bin Ibrahim Bin Ismail, the writer of ilhamur Rehman and Compiler of Tafsirur Rehman Bin Muhammad Bin Ahmad entitled Kodar. This opinion was found written at the end of ‘Shumailul Atqiya by the writer of this magazine. This book Shumail’, as per the writer of the magazine was written in his own handwriting by Hazrat Makhdum Ali Faquih Mahaimi. He writes, also that, the scholars of our times were fully sure that the second statement had been written by Hazrat Makhdum Ali Faquih Mahaimi himself at the end of the’ Shumail’.

Maulawi Late Muhammad Yusuf Khatkhate. referring to a passage of the handwritten book Tabsirur Rehman, has written that in this book as described, of Hazrat Makhdurn Ali, is Alauddin and as a matter of fact our forefathers and parents are related to Ali Paro Bin Ahmad Paro Bin Ali Paro Bin Ahmad Paro and as well as, ibn bint (D/O) Husain Nakhuda Ankolia . And probably it is the right one.

This hand-written copy of the book was copied down 133 years after the death of Hazrat Makhdum Ali Faquih Mahaimi any way, Hazrat Makhdum Ali was a son and descendant of a gentle and respectable family. And his predecessors were originally Arabs that is Naiti. In an ancient book. It is written that (Hazrat Makhdum Ali Maulana Shaikh Ahmad Mahaimi comes of a Nawait Clan. This word is on the metre (weight) of Thawabit. A certain community lived in the cities and towns of Southern India (The Deccan). Their description is available in the Persian books. An ancient written, Tabri has written in his historical book that Naita is a tribe of ‘Quraish who had fled from Madina Munawwara due to the fear of Hajjaj Bin Yusuf (who had killed five thousand scholars and saintly people without any pretext). And these people got down near about the mouth of the Indus River. and they made that territory their living place.[1]

[edit]The Originality Of Nawayat

 

The word of Nawayat can be written with its last letters as ‘to’e’ or ‘te’ The ancient historians and the writers of biographies used to write it with both the letters.

Nawayat is a community of the tribe, Quraish, who is related to Muhammad through Nazr Bin Kanana. These were the residents of Madina Munawwara. They migrated to India during the period of Hajjaj bin Yusuf and they got down on the coast of the Indian Ocean.

Having got fed up with the cruelties and tyrannies of Hajjaj Bin Yusuf. the first caravan of Muslim Arab Migrators took shelter in India on 8th Hijri that is in the year 699 A.D. There were, in this caravan, some Arab migrators of the village of Basra., which was called Nayat. Their family tree is connected to the tribe of Quraish through the family of Banu Nazar.

Against the courageous steps of Abdulla Bin Zubair Radi Allahu anhu, Abdul Malik Bin Marwan encouraged and incited Hajjaj Bin Yususf to killings, plunder and blood-shed. He made many a people of Banu Hashim prisoners and made them to suffer great hardships. Some of these people went to North Africa and Spain and one of the caravans of the migrators got down around the islands of Bombay. They got down at Sopara, Thana, Semore (Chambur). a seaport at that time.

In the Bombay Gazette, it has been written about Hazrat Makhdum Ali Faquih Mahaimi that: “This sufi (saint) was of Arab origin. His fore-fathers came to Mahim in the year 860 A.D. i.e. 252 H. as they were not able to stand against the tyrannies and cruelties of Hajjaj Bin Yusuf And after about five hundred years later Hazrat Makhdum Ali Faquih Mahaimi was born.

His honourable father Maulana Hazrat Shaikh Ahmad Sahib was learned, great scholar and saintly man. He lived in Kokan from the very beginning. He was of Arab origin *and comes of the descendants of Hazrat Jafar Tayyar Radi allahu anhu Bin Hazrat Abi Talib Radi Allahu anhu . His mausoleum is situated in Amman (the capital of .Jordan) in the city of Moutha. The city of Mautah is situated at the distance of 112 Km. from Amman.

His honourable father, having observed his smart son’s cleverness and liking for knowledge and learning, paid his attention to his higher education. And, as he, too, was a great scholar of Arabic language.

He, therefore. helped his son Hazrat Makhdum Ali Mahaimi to become. a scholar. In his childhood. under the training of his father, Maulana Shaikh Ahmed rehmatullahi Bin Ali, Hazrat Makhdum Ali Mahaimi acquired full fledged knowledge of recitation of’ the Qura’n with correct phonetics. theology, logic, philosophy, Hadith and all other extra-religious fields of knowledge and traditionlally reported sciences etcetera.

The gracious mother of Hazrat Makhdum, Hazrat Bibi Fatima, too, was a perfect saintly woman. The gracious parents of Hazrat Makhdum through their training. polished and illuminated the God-gifted talents of their son. And by the favour and bounty of Allah, He became a writer of Quranic exegesis of high quality, a scholar of Muhammad's traditions, a theologian and a saint (Sufi), excellent and well versed in revelation and miracles. It is widely known that Hazrat Khizr Alaih salaam, also, took a greater part in his training.

When Hazrat Makhdum was barely of nine years age. completed all the branches of knowledge. external as well as celestial and the Islamic Jurisprudence. Thereafter, only a few days had passed when, on the 25th of Jamadil Akhir 785 Hijri, his father Maulana Shaikh died.

In some other book, the year of the expiry of Maulana Shaikh Ahmad Bin Ali is given as 788 Hijri.)

Hazrat Makhdum’s revered father Maulana Shaikh Ahmad Bin Ali; who rose from the land of Kalyan, was buried in the very place of land. The grave of Hazrat Makhdum Ali’s father is situated in the locality of Kalyan, namely Bombal Bazar*. Near Namak Bander (salt port) of Kalyan, there is an old graveyard and in it is situated a pucca Mausoleum, a shrine. of Maulana Shaikh Ahmad Ali which was built on 5th Rabiul Awwal, 1313 Hijri.

His mausoleum is situated adjacent to the Bahir Kot (fort) Masjid (Mosque) and to the other side, there is the mausoleum of Hazrat Nizamuddin Khamosh.

Bombal Bazar, - Ghas Bazar :. On this very same date, the fair (Urs) is celebrated every year regularly.

Some local poet has said two stanzas of poetry in Urdu depicting the date of his expiry. These are in Urdu and the poet is Rashid. They are inscribed on two marble plaques. One of them is inside the mausoleum while the other one is outside it.

The inside plaque bears these lines:

Janab-e- Shaikh Ahmad Wasil-e-Haq

Jahan se jab huye jannat ko rukhsat

Lisan-e-gaib-e- Rashid ne bataya

Makeenul Khuld un ka sal-e- rukhsat

When Hazrat Makhdum Ali became orphan due to the expiry of his father, his thirst for knowledge and learning went on increasing. There was no source to quench this thirst. hence he came to his respected mother and said, Dear Mother My longing for knowledge is going on increasing. Here, I don’t find any source to satisfy my desire and longing for it. If you give me permission then. I would set out in search of the knowledge. The respected mother looked at the son for some time and then said.’ My son! your separation is unbearable to me. Allah, The Highest, is The Causer of the Causes. He, being the real doer of things, will make such a provision from unknown that it will be the source of satisfaction to your longing. The knowledge that is obtained through the divine favour is better than that acquired by any method of teaching and learning.

So. the very night. his respectable mother prayed to Allah and her prayers were answered positively by Allah. As usual, after the early morning prayer was over, Hazrat Makhdum Ali, went for a walk to the sea-side. While he was strolling on the coast of the sea, he saw a radiant faced elderly person sitting on a rock which was lying on the coast of the sea. He conveyed his salam (the best wishes) to him. The elderly man returned his salams to Hazrat Makhdum Ali and showed his pleasure smilingly. Then, he said, ‘ You are longing for acquiring divine knowledge, then you come here to me daily every morning and I will teach you. The things you wish to obtain through journeys to distant places, Insha Allah (If Allah so wishes), you will get the same here and here. I am the Khizr Alaih salaam. Allah, The highest, has sent me to teach you. Don’t divulge this secret to anybody.

So, he would go to that place where Khizr Alaih salam used to be sitting. It was his routine to do so every morning after the early morning (fajr) prayers were over. He was regular in this . And, thus, he started to acquire godly knowledge from Hazrat Khizr Alaih Salaam In a few days, he was perfect in both the types of knowledge, intellectual as well as additional. One day, by chance, his respectable mother made an enquiry with him. saying. “My son! To whom do you go to obtain knowledge daily? I have heard that you go to the sea-shore every day” . At first, he hesitated to give reply to his mother’s enquiry. But, feeling that it would be against the manner, he said, I go to Hazrat Khizr Alaih Salaam to learn from him.”

The next day, when, as usual, he went to the sea-shore, he found that Hazrat Khizr Alaih Salaam was not there. He regretted much and become very sorrowful and came to his mother. Hazrat Makhdum, with tears in his eyes said to his mother, ‘Dear Mother ! I had, against the instruction and warning of Hazrat Khizr Alaih Salaam, mentioned you the secret of his teaching. And, I think, most probably, being angry with me, he did not turn up today.” The glorious mother, again, consoled him and said, “Don’t be disapponted. Allah, The Highest, is The Most Powerful. He will send, again, Hazrat Khizr Alaih Salaam for the sake of you. “ The glorious mother prayed to Allah, that very night. Consequently, the next day, at the time of the prayers of Asr, Hazrat Khizr Alaih Salaam met him on the way and said, “ You have got the inspired- knowledge by the order of Allah.” Then he took him to the sea-shore and having taken out a morsel of godly bounty from his own mouth, fed it to him and said “Your glorious mother’s prayers are always answered positively and you have achieved mastery over all the branches of knowledge by the favour of Allah.” When he was free from the evening prayers, he found his pure and clean bosom overloaded with all the branches of the knowledge.

[edit]Habits And Good Qualities

 

The real essence of life is the beauty of character. It is only the good character that has made the memory of the noble men perpetual and has strengthened their description Sayyid Ibrahim Madni, in his hook, Magazine Zamirul Insan says, “ Hazrat Makhdum Sahib was very modest, good mannered, obedient and fond of service to his parents from his childhood. By chance, one night his mother, after her night prayers, was lying on the bed. She felt thirsty. So, she asked Makhdum Ali to fetch her water. He return with the water but he saw that his mother was fast asleep. He thought that to awake her from the sleep would be against the good manners. So, he stood beside her with the glass of water in his hand for the whole night.

At last, it was early morning when his mother woke up from sleep. She asked him,’My son, how long are you standing here with the water? ‘.He said, “ Since the time you went to sleep and you had asked for the water. And I am, since then standing here waiting for you to wake up”

The mother liked this good mannerly behaviour of her son to such an extent that her happiness knew no bounds. She got up from the bed immediately, performed ablution and prayed to Allah for the betterment of her son. It was the effect of these prayers of his mother that due to it Makhdum Sahib very soon attained the perfection in both the types of sciences of knowledge, apparent as well as latent.

While describing the noble character of Hazrat Makhdum Ali Faquih Mahaimi some of the people have written that he was very much generous and libral. He used to help the needy open-heartedly. Even though he was the son of a wealthy father, he never gave importance to the worldly ‘wealth and riches.There was a crowd of guests at his house all the time. On his table cloth various kinds of tasty foods were served and he felt happy to feed the guests to their satisfaction. It is said that he liked fish very much. All the Muslims and the Hindus, both were attracted by his pleasing character and good behaviour.

Hazrat Makhdum Ali was a genuine abstinent, devotee, master of the knowledge of all the branches of sciences in respect of Islamic Jurisprudence and intimate knowledge of God and measure” and regulations, both apparent and the latent. He had reached to the zenith in the intellectual sciences and conventional as well. He had the best qualities and pleasing habits and excellent characteristics. He performed extra-ordinay feats.

Sufi (Saintly person) Shaikh Abdul Wahab Muttaqui Shazli Qadiri, describes, in his book, a strange event concerning Hazrat Makhdum Ali

“ The author of ‘ Tafsir-e-Rehmani Hazrat Shaikh Ali Mahaimi was overwhelmed with the effect of meditation and absorption. The ruling king’s sister was in matrimonial relation with him. One day, the king’s wives and their lady companions came to see the king’s sister at the Shaikh’s house. Shaikh, at that time, was sitting at the door of the house. The ladies hesitated to come in. Shaikh’s mother was present there. She said to them, ‘Why are you hesitant? Come on. What is the hesitation and reluctance for at all?’ They said that they were reluctant to come in because Shaikh was sitting on the door sill and he would see them. Shaikh’s mother said that it was not possible because he was in the unconscious state. He had no sense of any thing, neither theirs nor of this world and the hereafter as well. No sooner they heard this, all of them came in . Then they insisted on its proof. Thereupon, Shaikh’s mother came to him and said to him,’ My son take this wrapper and wear this on and give your dress for washing. At that shaikh was putting on clean clothes. He, immediately, put off his clothes and put on the wrapper. And, again he sat down. After an hour, his mother brought him other dirty clothes and asked him to take off his clothes. Shaikh took the same dirty clothes and put them on. He had no sense as to which clothes he should put on and which to put off.”

In one of the magazine, he has said;

“In Yeman, there lived a learned man by name Imam Jamal Muhammad One of the servants brought to me a letter from him. and he stated: It is a fact that Sharfuddin the Yemani the teacher of Quran has not the understanding and discerning power to such extent than he may be able to comprehend the works of Shaikh Mohiuddin Ibn Arabi Even then he belittles Shaikh only because he, himself is incapable and inefficient and he is bent on infidelity to the Shaikh and the followers of him.

Having heard this awkward and malicious statement, a thought occurred to my mind that I must bring out what the truth is. And this thought didn’t allow me to sit at my house idle. Helplessly, I decided to make a journey and set out to Yeman. Having reached there, I forwarded the necessary arguments and gave perfect proofs and evidences. And, at last I succeeded in wiping out the dust of doubts and suspicion and cleansed the pollution of criticism and abuse from the beliefs of the teacher, Muallim.

[edit]Revelations And Miracles

 

Those elderly and saintly people who adopted the life style of their dear most Prophet Salla Allahu ta’ala’alayhi wa sallam , in a very few days. they too start the experience of their being beloved and to this the promise is made by Allah in His Glorious book. The Qura’n that whosoever adopts the manners, the ways of life. the habits, the characteristics and the traditions of Muhammad, he will be under the care of Allah.

In the words of the Muhammad, it is as:

“Tell them, if you love Allah, do follow me. Then Allah will be mindful of you.”

Hazrat Makhdum Ali Mahairni was one of the chief Awilyas (The saints). Many a miracle are attributed to him. Hence, many a people have written books on his miracles with title of Karamat-e-Makhdum (The Miracles of Makhdum). Many of them are hearsays only and to establish their authenticity is difficult due to lack of documentary evidences Therefore. we. mention here only’ those of his miracles that are brought to light by the writer of the Magazine. ‘Zamirul insan’, Maulana Sayyid Ibrahim Madani and that too, with particular stress.

(1) It is natrated that Hazrat Makhdum Baba had reared a she-goat whom he loved immensely. Once when he had gone away on some business, the goat fell ill and ultimately died, His mother got the deid goat buried on the sea-shore. When he heard about the death of the goat, he became extremely sad and went to the sea-shore to see it. His maid-servant had followed him and he ordered her to go away. She got frightened and went away from that place, but hid herself at a little distance. After the departure of the servant he recited some prayer and he stood there for some time praying to Allah. The maid servant who was watching all this saw the legs of the animal moving. Afterwards, he held the ear of the goat and brought her back home. This was the first miraculous feat that he exhibited at the age of 10 and its report spread far and wide.

(2) This maid servant, since that day, made it a regular practice- to serve Hazrat Makhdum Baba Whenever she washed his clothes she would preserve the first wash of water and drank it This entitled her also to gain knowledge and miraculous powers by the Grace of Allah. One day a traveller came to the mosque in Mahim. Hazrat Makhdum Baba noticed him and sent food to him through this maid-servant. When the maid reached the mosque with the tray of food she found the traveller missing. Through her powers she traced the person to be praying in the Khana-e-Ka’aba. She reached Makka and served him and later returned to the mosque. Thus, his dependents and followers also performed miraculous feats.

(3) Once, as usual, the men of INSIGHT had assembled from far off place and a general meeting was organised. During the session, one of the pious men informed that there is a Lote tree in the land of Madina Munawwara whose fruit is very delicious and nice. On this Hazrat Makhdum Baba said, “This was the season of this fruit and requested him to get some of it from there. He replied in the affirmative and promised to present Hazrat Makhdum Baba that fruit, He himself was a perfect scholar and had mastered the special prayer (benediction) called “Tayyal Farasakh” which at once took him to Madina. When he reached the tree he saw that there was someone already up the tree. He decided not to climb up and requested the person upon the tree to shake one of the branches of the tree so that he may also pick up some fruits. The man on the tree plucked some fruits and dropped them on the ground and shook a branch as well. The sage picked up the fruit and returned to Mahim.

He presented the said fruit to Hazrat Makhdum Baba who ate some of it and appreciated its taste and then remarked that. the fruit was undoubtedly tasty but he had brought it without exerting any effort. On hearing this the said sage felt very much astonished and he thought that perhaps he was watched by Hazrat Makhdum Baba by his miraculous powers but the situation was completely different. Hazrat Makhdum Baba had personally reached there prior to him and had climbed the tree. The holy man also realised the same and begged pardon. He accepted the difference between them. Hazrat Makhdum Baba is the Qutb of Konkan (The Polar Star of Konkan). Afterwards, Hazrat Shaikh Makhdum Baba removed some fruits from his pocket and distributed them among the people assembled there. All of them ate and relished them.

(4) During the days of Hazrat Makhdum Baba, the marine traffic had commenced and the ship started navigating to and fro. In those days a Hindu trader despatched his merchandise aboard a ship but the ship did not return. Seven years passed by and he virtually forgot about that ship. But whenever any accident of such nature occurred, he mourned about his loss regretfully. He met many learned people, religious activists, astrologers and sorcerers to inquire about the fate of his ship. All of them told him that, that ship had sunk along with his merchandise and general cargo. A disciple of Hazrat Makhdum Baba was also sitting there and he inquired of this fellow whether he had ever approached his Shaikh and told him if he had not, he should accompany him there and then and he assured him that he would certainly get satisfactory information about his ship. The man agreed and they reached Hazrat Makhdum Baba and narrated the entire incident. Hazrat Makhdum Baba told him to sit down and close his eyes. He did as directed and then Hazrat Makhdum Baba told him to open his eyes and then prophesied that his ship laden with his cargo and merchandise. would arrive back on the sea-shore on that very day in the evening.

The trader returned home and he was puzzled as to how the said ship that was lost seven years ago would suddenly appear from no where and that too on that very day. He reached the sea-shore before the onset of evening. He was restless. He saw a ship approaching the coast before the sunset. After half an hour the ship arrived and (he trader was amazed as it was his own ship.

He was beyond himself with joy. He developed utter faith in the miraculous power of Hazrat Makhdum Baba. The next day. he, along with his family members. came to Hazrat Makhdum Baba and cheerfully and willingly embraced Islam.

(5) Hazrat Makhdum Baba was famous as a trustworthy person. A man came to him and said that he was going alone on a journey and did not want to take some of his gems and diamonds along with him lest they be robbed. He requested Hazrat Makhdum Baba to keep them in his trust and that he would take them back on his return. At that time, Hazrat Makhdum Baba was standing close to a well and he agreed to help that man. As soon as that man placed those diamonds on his blessed hand, he dropped them into the well. The man, puzzled and perplexed, enquired how he would retrieve them? Hazrat Makhdum Baba told him that he would get them back whenever he wanted. But he was a hasty man and demanded his diamonds. Hazrat Makhdum Baba put his hand in the well and brought out a fistful of gems and told him to pick up his diamonds from amongst them. The man was astonished, ashamed and repented upon his mistake. Ultimately. Hazrat Makhdum Baba himself picked up his particular gems and handed them over to him and threw the remaining diamonds back in the well.

(6) Hazrat Makhdum Baba was a very rich and well-to-do person. His dining table served a variety of delicious food. His guest house was always full with his guests who were treated very kindly and generously and served with excellent food.

Hazrat Makhdum Baba’s supernatural powers and piety gained much publicity and acclaim. Once in the assembly of pious men his position came under discussion. It was said that he was a very generous person and liked nice and sumptuous food. It was said that he was a turn of Insight and piety and held a high position in awliya (bloved of Allah). One of the attendants said that such combination cannot be found and that religious accomplishments and worldly preferences never went together because to him the (derwish) mendicants always cherished simple food. A heated discussion followed this statement but that man was not satisfied and he perferred to observe the situation himself. So he set out to meet Hazrat Makhdum personally. He came to Mahim and Hazrat Makhdum Baba lovingly lodged him in his guest house. At the meal-time, the dining-table was set and that day fish was served specially. The man found him the way he had heard about him. Hazrat Makhdum Baba was performing the duties of the host very graciously and requested the guest to do full justice to the food served. He had personally joined him in partaking food. He insisted that his guest should taste every item of the menu. Hazrat Makhdum Baba finished his food earlier than the guest. He dropped the bones of the fish in the wash-basin whilst washing his hands. When the guest completed his meal and washed his hands in the wash-basin, he found to his amazement that, instead of the bones, the fishes were swimming in the basin. He was astonished, his question received a very fitting answer. So he very earnestly and humbly asked for his forgiveness. Hazrat Makhdum showed his wisdom and affection. He excused him and said that he never intended to show any trace of pride or superiority but just wanted to prove that Allah is Al-mighty and shows His kindness to the one whom He likes.

(7) Since Mahim is situated on the sea-shore, the ships have been arriving there from different countries. Certain foreigners stayed there in rented houses for some period of time. Incidentally, a young, handsome and rich Arab trader reached there and he settled there for a couple of days. Perchance, he passed by the house of a girl and happened to see her. That very moment he fell in love with her and he expressed his feelings that he would like to marry the girl if she was unmarried. The people told him though the girl was unmarried she could not marry him because she had been engaged to the poor boy of Mahim.

The Arab trader said that the engagement could be broken and that he was prepared to bear the expenses.

Some people, that very day, approached the father of the girl who was already engaged with a (poor) boy. They misled the father and made him agreeable to break the engagement of his daughter and to get her married to the Arab trader.

In order to break the engagement, a meeting of the community was called. When this news reached the Arab trader, he felt extremely delighted. But that very news aggrieved and saddened that poor boy. There was none who could console him. Nonetheless, Allah had destined something else. When the boy reached the mosque the next morning for prayers, he was spotted by the Great Faqih, Hazrat Makhdum Ali and every thing had become clear to him. He called the boy aside and told him to be patient and thankful to Allah. He added that a truthful person always attained tranquility and peace of mind. He further said that he would personally attend the meeting of the community and would see as to what could be done for him and by what means.This kind and favourable attitude of Hazrat Makhdum Baba gladdened the boy and He busied himself with his daily routine. The meeting was held on the fixed time. Hazrat also reached there and was received very warmly by the people and was made the President of that meeting. The deliberations started and the problem of.the Arab trader was raised and the agenda of the break-up of the engagement with that boy on the basis of his poverty was discussed. At this point Hazrat explained that riches and poverty were not specially assigned to certain people and that, that distinction was meaningless. Someone, prone to tell lies, said that the boy had the habit of drinking. Then Hazrat inquired whether anybody had seen him drinking or in the state of inebriation. If not that would not be considered as evidence in which case that matter could be condoned. This situation silenced everybody arid then he delivered his judgement and that was that both the poor boy and the rich Arab trader should go on the pilgrimage of Hajj. And anyone of them who returned earlier than the other should be allowed to marry the girl. All the people unanimously agreed with this suggestion. The Arab trader was particularly happy since he owned a personal sailing ship which he could handle the way he wanted. He felt that his poor rival will go by some ship after paying the fare and would not be able to return early as per his desire.

Within next couple of days the Arab set sails for the pilgrimage. When the poor boy heard about his departure, he felt very depressed and conveycd the news to Hazrat who comforted him and told him not to worry as Allah would make all the arrangements.

In the meantime, the months of Shawal and Zilqad passed by and the moon of the month of Zilhajj made its appearance. The 8th of the said month came and none could see any arrangement being made for the departure of the boy and he was always being seen in Mahim. On the morning of the 9th when the Hajj was to be performed, the boy reached the mosque and Hazrat told him not to go anywhere after the prayers and should wait for him there only. He did as he was told and waited for Hazrat who ultimately came and proceeded with the boy towards the hoz of the masjid. Then they stood at the edge of the hoz and Hazrat told the boy close his eyes and not to open them till asked to do so. Then Hazrat held the hand of the boy and dived him into the hoz and after a few moments told the boy to open his eyes. When the boy opened his eyes, he found himself standing on the gate of the Khana-e-Ka’aba. Then Hazrat took out some money from his pocket and while giving it to the boy he said that he should purchase necessary provisions of the Hajj. He told him to meet the Arab trader who had lodged in a particular tent, that day. it-self. He was further told to meet Hazrat at that very spot after performing the Hajj and that he should keep the entire episode as well-guarded secret, The boy proceeded to do whatever he was asked to while thanking Allah. He was very happy as Allah had honoured him with the kindness of such an accomplished leader and monitor.

After wearing, Ihram he reached the plains of Arafat and searched the tent of the rich Arab trader and met him. Afterwards he performed the rites and rituals and other important duties pertaining to Hajj which he completed in two or three days and he reached Hateem on the 12th to meet Hazrat Makhdoom Baba. Hazrat Makhdum Baba again told him to close his eyes and after a short time they reached the masjid. Six months elapsed when the Arab trader returned to Mahim. The meeting of the community, as per the programme, was called again. Hazrat Makhdum Baba attended this meeting too. The Arab also came there. Hazrat Makhdum Baba asked him whether he had performed the Hajj on which he replied in the affirmative. He further asked him whether that boy had gone for Hajj and whether he had met the trader or whether he had seen him there. The trader replied that the boy had gone for Hajj and had met him in the plains of Arafat and that he had seen him performing the Hajj and all the relevant rites and rituals. Then Hazrat Makhdum Baba asked the traders whether that boy had returned to Mahirn earlier. They confirmed that he had certainly returned earlier. By the Grace of Allah this state of affairs consolidated the faith of the people that all that had happened was due to him and that it was his glance of favour that allowed the boy to win that contest. The Arab trader kept quiet and accepted his defeat. Finally that girl was married to that poor boy.

Apart from this, many other supernatural feats were exhibited by Hazrat Makhdum Baba.

Zauqui Shah Sahib writes as:

“He preferred a life of loneliness and obscurity for a considerable period of his life. But his knowledge and excellence, his extra ordinary feats, obvious as well as latent, his miracles and the supernatural events that were revealed by and through him, made the whole world attracted to him….”

জান্নাতীরা তৃপ্তির জন্য শরাব পান করবে। কিন্তু সে শরাব হবে সুগন্ধিময়। জান্নাতের শরাব পান করে কেউ মাতাল হবে না, জ্ঞানশূন্য হবে না, পেটের কোন সমস্যা হবে না, কথায় কোন পরিবর্তন আসবে না। @ www.al-jannatbd.com

সূরা সাফ্ফাতে ইরশাদ হয়েছে-‘তাদের মাঝে ঘুরে ঘুরে পরিবেশন করা হবে স্বচ্ছ-শুভ্র পানীয়ের পানপাত্র, যা পানকারীদের জন্য সুস্বাদু, তাতে মাথা ব্যাথা হবে না এবং তা পান করে মাতালও হবে না। সূরা সাফ্ফাত:৪৫-৪৭ @ www.al-jannatbd.com

সূরা তূরে ইরশাদ হয়েছে, ‘শরাব পানের কারণে তারা কোন ধরনের অসার অবান্তর কথা বলবে না, কোন ধরনের গুনাহের কাজও করবে না।’ @ www.al-jannatbd.com

সূরা দাহরে ইরশাদ হয়েছে – ‘আর তাদের রব তাদের খুবই পবিত্র পানীয় পান করাবেন।’সূরা দাহর:২১ (এ দুনিয়াতে) প্রকাশ পায় যা একটি নখে উঠিয়ে নেয়া যায়, তাহলে আসমান এবং জমিনের যা কিছু আছে তার সবকিছুই আলোকিত হয়ে যাবে। আর যদি জান্নাতীদের একজন (দুনিয়ার দিকে) ঝুঁকে দেখে, যার ফলে তার কংকণ প্রকাশ হয়ে যায়, তাহলে সূর্য এমন আলোহীন হয়ে যাবে যেমন সূর্যের কারণে তারকাগুলো আলোহীন হয়ে যায়। @ www.al-jannatbd.com

Was die Christen später aus Taufe gemacht haben, ist ein anderes Kapitel. Mikwa macht man jedenfalls regelmäßig, und wir machen Ghusl, das ist eigentlich das gleiche. Wenn die Christen meinen, einmal im Leben reicht... die hatten ja auch extrem wasserscheue Zeiten, so mit Ungeziefer und Puder und Parfum..."

Das ist die eine Neuerung. Aber wie wir schon feststellten, die Menschen der Antike waren wirklich krätzige Widerlinge.

Jesus kam und lehrte sie Nächsteliebe. Caritas. Das war dringend notwendig. Und das ist es auch, was die Christen auszeichnet.

সূরা সাফ্ফাতে ইরশাদ হয়েছে-‘তাদের মাঝে ঘুরে ঘুরে পরিবেশন করা হবে স্বচ্ছ-শুভ্র পানীয়ের পানপাত্র, যা পানকারীদের জন্য সুস্বাদু, তাতে মাথা ব্যাথা হবে না এবং তা পান করে মাতালও হবে না। সূরা সাফ্ফাত:৪৫-৪৭ @ www.al-jannatbd.com

সূরা তূরে ইরশাদ হয়েছে, ‘শরাব পানের কারণে তারা কোন ধরনের অসার অবান্তর কথা বলবে না, কোন ধরনের গুনাহের কাজও করবে না।’ @ www.al-jannatbd.com

সূরা দাহরে ইরশাদ হয়েছে – ‘আর তাদের রব তাদের খুবই পবিত্র পানীয় পান করাবেন।’সূরা দাহর:২১ (এ দুনিয়াতে) প্রকাশ পায় যা একটি নখে উঠিয়ে নেয়া যায়, তাহলে আসমান এবং জমিনের যা কিছু আছে তার সবকিছুই আলোকিত হয়ে যাবে। আর যদি জান্নাতীদের একজন (দুনিয়ার দিকে) ঝুঁকে দেখে, যার ফলে তার কংকণ প্রকাশ হয়ে যায়, তাহলে সূর্য এমন আলোহীন হয়ে যাবে যেমন সূর্যের কারণে তারকাগুলো আলোহীন হয়ে যায়। @ www.al-jannatbd.com

PNS jangan takut jadi Panitia Pengadaan Barang dan Jasa, hal ini disampaikan Staf Ahli Bidang Hukum, Suharyanto, saat membuka sosialisasi Perpres RI Nomor 70 tahun 2012 di Pendopo Wakil Bupati, Selasa, 14 Mei.

 

Hal ini sekaligus meneruskan instruksi yang pernah disampaikan Bupati Wonosobo, beberapa waktu lalu, bahwa saat ini ada fenomena banyak PNS yang enggan jadi panitia maupun pejabat pengadaan barang dan jasa. Keengganan ini disebabkan sangsi hukum yang cukup berat jika seorang pejabat atau panitia pengadaan tidak bekerja sesuai aturan hukum yang ada.

 

Suharyanto meminta, jika PNS memedomani Peraturan Presiden Republik Indonesia nomor 70 tahun 2012 tentang perubahan kedua atas Peraturan Presiden nomor 54 tahun 2010 tentang Pengadaan Barang/Jasa Pemerintah, niscaya mereka tidak akan menemui kendala yang berarti.

 

Selain perlunya PNS memedomani aturan hukum yang ada, percepatan pelaksanaan belanja Negara yang dilaksanakan melalui Pengadaan Barang/Jasa Pemerintah juga akan ikut mendukung percepatan percepatan pelaksanaan pembangunan yang menjadi tanggung jawab Pemerintah.

 

Untuk itu Pemerintah menerbitkan Perpres RI Nomor 70 tahun 2012, yang ditekankan sebagai upaya untuk memperlancar pelaksanaan Anggaran Pendapatan dan Belanja Negara dan menghilangkan multi tafsir yang bisa menimbulkan ketidakjelasan bagi para pelaku dalam proses pengadaan barang/jasa. Sehingga pengaturan mengenai tata cara pengadaan barang/jasa Pemerintah dapat dilakukan secara efektif dan efisien dengan didukung oleh percepatan penyerapan anggaran.

 

Beberapa perubahan mendasar di dalam Perpres RI Nomor 70 tahun 2012 diantaranya, memasukkan ketentuan yang ada dalam Peraturan Presiden nomor 54 tahun 2010 sehingga pengangkatan organisasi pengadaan tidak terikat tahun anggaran, hal ini akan mempermudah pelaksanaan pengadaan khususnya pada akhir dan awal anggaran. Kemudian menaikkan nilai pengadaan langsung untuk pengadaan barang/pekerjaan konstruksi/jasa lainnya dari sebelumnya bernilai 100 juta menjadi 200 juta dan menaikkan batasan pelelangan sederhana dan pemilihan langsung dari sebelumnya 200 juta menjadi 5 milyar, hal ini dibarengi dengan penyederhanaan tahapan pelelangan sederhana dan pemilihan langsung, yakni mengubah jangka waktu pengumuman menjadi 4 hari dan masa sanggah menjadi 3 hari.

 

Selain itu ada ketentuan mendelegasikan kewajiban menjawab sanggahan banding yang sebelumnya berada pada menteri atau Kepala Daerah menjadi eselon I atau II, hal ini akan mempercepat penanganan sanggahan banding pada Kementerian/daerah.

 

Selain itu Suharyanto juga mengingatkan dengan diterbitkannya Inpres nomor 1 tahun 2013, tentang aksi pencegahan dan pemberantasan korupsi, yang mengamanatkan seluruh Kementerian/Lembaga dan Pemerintah Daerah baik Provinsi maupun Kabupaten/Kota untuk melaksanakan pengadaan barang/jasanya secara elektronok dengan menggunakan LPSE sehingga terbentuk satu pasar nasional.

Kepada Kepala SKPD, Suharyanto meminta agar secara transparan menyampaikan kepada publik semua kegiatan yang dimiliki dalam bentuk Rencana Umum Pengadaan yang diumumkan dalam website LPSE Kabupaten Wonosobo, demikian juga proses pemilihan penyedia barang/jasa agar memakai sistem aplikasi yang sudah dibangun dan disiapkan oleh LKPP, serta melaporkan hasil pengadaan barang/jasa secara periodic melalui sistem aplikasi monev on-line, sehingga prinsip-prinsip pengadaan serta etika pengadaan sebagaimana diatur dalam Perpres RI Nomor 70 tahun 2012 dapat dilaksanakan sepenuhnya.

 

Suharyanto juga mengharapkan agar peserta benar-benar mengikuti kegiatan, dan memanfaatkan waktu secara efisien, bekerja keras dan mampu belajar demi kepentingan masyarakat banyak, dengan menanyakan kepada narasumber hal-hal yang kurang dimengerti, sehingga dalam pelaksanaan nantinya tidak terjadi kesalahan.

 

Asisten Perekonomian dan Pembangunan Setda, Abdul Munir, selaku Ketua Panitia menyampaikan, kegiatan diikuti 84 orang, terdiri dari Kepala SKPD, Camat, Kepala Kelurahan, instansi vertikal seperti Kantor Kementerian Agama dan Badan Pertanahan Nasional, perwakilan Badan Usaha Milik Daerah, serta anggota Unit Layanan Pengadaan Kabupaten Wonosobo, yang nantinya akan menangani kegiatan dan calon pimpinan kegiatan dan panitia/pejabat pengadaan barang/jasa.

 

Tampil sebagai pemateri, Aris Supriyanto dari Direktorat Bantuan Hukum LKPP Pusat, yang menyajikan materi tentang pengantar pengadaan barang/jasa pemerintah, persiapan pengadaan barang/jasa bagian 1 dan 2, pelaksanaan pengadaan barang pekerjaan konstruksi, jasa lainnya dan jasa konsultasi, swakelola pengadaan barang/jasa pemerintah, pengadaan barang/jasa dengan pendayagunaan produksi dalam negeri dan usaha kecil dengan dana pinjaman/hibah dari luar negeri dan pengantar e-procurement (pengadaan barang/jasa secara elektonik).

 

Sedangkan pemateri lain Agita Margalita dari Direktorat Bantuan Hukum LKPP Pusat menyampaikan persyaratan kepemilikan sertfikat untuk PPK dikecualikan apabila PPK dijabat oleh Eselon I atau II dan PA/KPA bertindak sebagai PPK, serta memperjelas kewenangan penetapan penyedia kepada kelompok kerja (pokja) ULP serta menjabarkan tugas pokok dan kewenangan kepada ULP.

 

Selain itu dalam Perpres RI Nomor 70 tahun 2012, memberikan penegasan bahwa yang berhak mengajukan sanggahan adalah peserta yang memasukan dokumen kualifikasi atau penawaran serta menaikkan jaminan sanggahan banding sebesar 1% dari HPS.

Ahli hikmah berkata, “Engkau mengharapkan kesuksesan tetapi engkau tidak menempuh jalan-jalannya. Sesungguhnya, kapal itu tidak akan pernah berlayar di padang pasir.” Sesungguhnya, bahasa Al-Qur’an adalah bahasa Arab. Dan agama kita adalah Al-Qur’an itu sendiri. Maka, tidak ada jalan lain bagi kita untuk memahaminya melainkan dengan bahasa Arab. Sungguh, para Salaf terdahulu amat memperhatikan bahasa Arab bahkan merupakan aib bagi mereka bila tidak bisa bahasa Arab.

 

Imam Ibnu Syaibah dalam kitab Al-Mushonnaf menukil sebuah riwayat bahwa Umar bin Khoththob a pernah menulis surat kepada Abu Musa Al-`Asy`ari a: Amma ba’du. Belajarlah kalian as-Sunnah dan belajarlah kalian bahasa Arab.” Dalam riwayat lain Umar Radhiyallahu ‘Anhu berkata, “Pelajarilah oleh kalian bahasa Arab karena sesungguhnya bahasa Arab itu adalah bagian dari agama kalian.”

 

Murid senior Ibnu Abbas Radhiyallahu ‘Anhu dari kalangan tabi’in yang bernama Mujahid Rahimahullah, berkata, “Tidaklah halal bagi seseorang yang beriman kepada Allah dan hari Akhir berbicara tentang Kitabulloh padahal dia tidak pandai bahasa Arab.”

 

Imam Malilk Rahimahullah berkata, “Tidaklah didatangkan kepadaku seseorang yang tidak pandai bahasa Arab tetapi berani menafsirkan Kitabulloh melainkan aku akan menghukumnya.”

 

Imam asy-Syafi`i Rahimahullah berkata, “Aku menghendaki memperlajari bahasa Arab agar ia membantuku dalam memahami fiqih.”

 

Syaikh Al-Albani Rahimahullah berkata, “Al-Qur’an dan as-Sunnah tidak mungkin keduanya bisa difahami, tidak pula cabang-cabang keduanya, kecuali dengan jalan bahasa Arab.”

 

Kita telah mengetahui tentang perhatian para ulama salaf dalam bahasa Arab. Namun jauh sebelum itu, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala telah memerintahkan kita untuk memperlajarinya sebagaimana yang terpahami secara eksplisit dari firman Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala,

 

“Sesungguhnya Kami telah menurunkan kitab itu berupa Al-Qur’an agar mereka memikirkannya.”[1]

 

Sebaik-baik ilmu adalah ilmu tentang ma’rifatulloh. Ilmu ini dan orang yang memperjarinya adalah terpuji. Sarana-sarana untuk mendapatkan ilmu tersebut adalah terpuji pula. Sementara, sebaik-baik Kitab yang mengenalkan kepada Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala adalah Al-Qur’an dan sarana untuk mempermudah memahami makna-maknanya adalah bahasa Arab. Maka, bahasa Arab dan orang yang memperlajarinya terpuji. Imam Ibnu Katsir Rahimahullah tatkala membawakan surat Yusuf ayat 2 ini berkata,

 

وَذَلِكَ لِأَنَّ لُغَةَ الْعَرَبِ أَفْصَحُ الْلُغَاتِ وَأَبْيَنُهَا وَأَوْسَعُهَا وَأَكْثَرُهَا تَأْدِيَّةً لِلْمَعَانِي الَّتِي تَقُوْمُ بِالنُّفُوْسِ فَلِهَذَا أَنْزَلَ أَشْرَفَ الْكُتُبِ بِأَشْرَفِ اللُّغَاتِ عَلَى أَشْرَفِ الرُّسُلِ بِسَفَارَةِ أَشْرَفِ الْمَلاَئِكَةِ وَكاَنَ ذَلِكَ فِي أَشْرَفِ بَقَاعِ الْأَرْضِ وَابْتَدَىءَ إِنْزَالُهُ فِي أَشْرَفِ شُهُوْرِ السَّنَةِ وَهُوَ رَمَضَانُ فَكَمْلٌ مِنْ كُلِّ الْوُجُوْهِ.

 

“Yang demikian itu karena sesungguhnya bahasa Arab adalah bahasa yang paling fasih, paling jelas, paling luas, dan paling banyak kandungan makna-maknanya sehingga lebih menyentuh hati. Oleh karena itu, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala menurunkan kitab yang paling mulia dengan bahasa yang paling mulia kepada rosul yang paling mulia lewat perantara malaikat yang paling mulia di tempat yang paling mulia dan permulaan turunlah di bulan yang paling mulia yaitu bulan Romadhon. Maka, ini adalah kesempurnaan dari berbagai segi.”[2]

 

Termasuk syubhat setan adalah perkataannya, “Tundalah dulu. Jangan menghafal Al-Qur’an sebelum kamu mempelajari bahasa Arab. Jika engkau telah menguasai bahasa Arab maka dengan mudah engkau bisa menghafal Al-Qur’an bahkan dalam satu hari engkau bisa menghafal satu surat! Ini adalah pencapaian yang luar biasa tanpa banyak memeras otak karena engkau telah tahu kosa-kata dan uslub-uslub tata bahasanya.” Hendaklah dia berta`awwud kepada Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala dan menolak was-was setan itu. Yang benar, hendaklah beriringan antara keduanya. Belajar bahasa Arab sambil menghafal Al-Qur’an. Yakinlah, hari esok belum tentu harinya.

 

Dia bisa memilih kitab mana yang dia suka, misalnya: kitab Ajurumiyyah, Durusul Lughoh li Ghoirin Naatiqin, atau Nahwul Wadhih. Adapun Syaikh Utsaimin Rahimahullah menganjurkan bagi penuntut ilmu pemula mempelajari Ajurumiah karena bahasa lugas, singkat, padat faedah dan bagus untuk dihafal. Untuk shorof, bisa membelajari kitab Tashrif Amtsilati. Allohu’ Alam.

 

Sesungguhnya belajar itu membutuhkan tadarruj (setahap demi setahap). Begitu pula dalam menghafal Al-Qur’an. Maka, dia membutuhkan kesabaran dalam menghafalnya. Di antara manusia ada yang semangatnya menggebu-gebu saat di awalnya tapi menurun drastis setelah berlalu bererapa masa. Hal ini karena ia terlalu tergesa-gesa ingin cepat hafal, sehingga apabila hal ini tidak tercapai, maka futur dan rasa bosan menimpanya. Sesungguhnya para shohabat Radhiyallahu ‘Anhu menghafal 5 ayat-ayat dan tidak melanjutkan ke ayat berikutnya kecuali jika sudah benar-benar faham dan mengamalkannya. Hendaknya para penghafal meniru mereka sebisa mungkin sehingga futur dan rasa bosan bisa dimimalisirkan. Yang sedikit tapi berkesinambungan lebih dicintai Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala daripada yang banyak tapi hanya sekali-dua kali. Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala berfirman,

 

“Janganlah kamu gerakkan lisanmu (dalam membaca Al-Qur’an) karena hendak cepat-cepat (menguasai)nya. Sesungguhnya atas tanggungan Kamilah mengumpulkannya (di dadamu) dan (membuatmu pandai) membacanya. Apabila Kami telah selesai membacakannya maka ikutilah bacaannya itu. Kemudian, sesungguhnya atas tanggungan Kamilah penjelasannya.”[3]

 

Di antara hal yang perlu diperhatikan bagi penghafal Al-Qur’an adalah menjauhi segala yang mendatangkan murka Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala. Hati yang terbiasa dengan dosa dan maksiat tidak dapat memahami dan berintraksi dengan Al-Qur’an. Dosa dan maksiat merupakan sumber hilangnya hafalan. Sebab, tidaklah Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala menghukum dan mengadzab suatu kaum kecuali karena ulah mereka sendiri dari dosa-dosa dan maksiat-maksiat yang mereka kerjakan tanpa meyesal dan tobat kepadaNya. Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala berfirman,

 

“Dan musibah apa pun yang menimpamu, maka itu disebabkan oleh perbuatan tanganmu sendiri, dan Allah memaafkan sebagian besar (dari kesalahan-kesalahanmu).”[4]

 

Perkara ini dipahami betul oleh Imam asy-Syafi’i Rahimahullah dalam sebuah tarbiyah yang diajarkan oleh gurunya, Waki’ Rahimahullah, tentang pengalaman pribadinya. Imam asy-Syafi’i Rahimahullah merupakan sosok yang sangat terkenal dengan daya ingat dan hafalan yang sangat kuat serta menakjubkan. Beliau bisa menghafal dengan hanya sekali melihat. Namun, pada suatu hari beliau merasa hafalannya tersendat dan tidak seperti biasanya. Sehingga, beliau pun pergi menemui gurunya, Imam Waki Rahimahullah dan mengadukan perihal hafalannya yang tersendat. Maka, Imam Waki’ Rahimahullah memberikan nasehat kepada muridnya, “Sesungguhnya demikian itu kembali kepada dirimu sendiri. Barangkali kamu pernah melakukan suatu dosa, sehingga dosa itu mempengaruhi kekuatan hafalan dan daya ingatmu.”

 

Imam asy-Syafi`i Rahimahullah pun mengevaluasi diri. Akhirnya, beliau teringat bahwa pada suatu hari beliau secara tidak sengaja melihat betis seorang perempuan karena pakaian roknya terhembus angin. Beliau pun berkesimpulan bahwa itulah dosa yang meracuni kekuatan hafalan dan daya ingatnya. Maka, beliau melatunkan beberapa bait syair yang sangat indah, berkesan, serta penuh makna dan hikmah.

 

Aku mengadukan perihal buruknya hafalanku kepada Waki’

 

Beliau menasehatiku agar meninggalkan maksiat

 

Beliau berkata padaku, “Ilmu adalah cahaya.

 

Dan cahaya Allah tidak akan diberikan kepada pelaku maksiat.”

Hazrat Baba Sharaf Uddin Saharwardi Hyderabad.

  

Due to the prayer of Hazrat sheikh Abdul Quader Jilani the founder of Saharwardi Order Syed Shabuddin Saherwardi was born and who was the teacher and master of Baba Sharfuddin Saherwardi.

  

He was among the first two great Sufi Masters who had landed in India for the preaching and propagation work of Islam as per the instructions of the prophet of Islam .

  

The details of two great Sufi Masters who had first landed in India for the preaching and propagation work of Islam are as follows.

  

1.Hazrat Khaja Moinuddin Chisti.

  

2.Hazrat Baba Sharaf uddin Saherwardi.

  

His name is Sharaf Uddin and his title ( Alqab) is known as Saherwardi Iraqi. But he is well known and famous as Hazrat Baba Sharaf Uddin. In Deccan the disciples and devotees called him as Baba Saheb.He belongs to Saharwardi Sufi Order and his native place is Iraq so the historian has called him as Saherwardi Iraqi and he belongs to family member of Bani Hashim and he is related with the Sadat (descendant of the holy prophet through his daughter Hazrat Fatima) family and all historian have agreed that he was related with Syedna Imam Hussain in 13th generation.

  

Once he saw Allah’s last prophet in his dream and who has instructed him to proceed towards Deccan for the preaching and propagation work of Islam there. So he was arrived in Deccan as per the instruction of Allah’s last prophet and he was the first pious personality in Deccan who arrived for Islamic preaching and propagation work.

He is also known in Deccan as Sultan of Deccan as he was the first pious personality who was arrived in Deccan area for the preaching and propagation work of Islam.

  

Birth.

  

He was born on 16th Shaban in the year 586 A.H. in Iraq in early hours of the morning time. As per the historical records and as per reference from the book of “Peer Mughan” he was landed in India directly from Iraq in the year 631 and he was reached in Deccan in the year 640 A.H. As per the above records his date of birth is 586 A.H. and his age at the time of his arrival in India was 45 years and he was stayed in the North Indian region for the period of nine years and he was busy there in the propagation and preaching work of Islam and later he was proceed towards Deccan (South of India) when he was 54 years old and this figures shows that he was busy in Deccan ( South of India ) for the Islamic preaching and propagation work for the period of 47 years.

  

Early Education.

  

His early education and training was completed in the city of Baghdad .First he was completed the learning of Quran under the supervision of his father and then he became the disciple of great Sufi Master Syed Shahab uddin Saherwadi and learned the following knowledges from him successfully.

  

1.Tafsir ( Exegesis of the holy Quran).

  

2.Hadith (Traditions of the holy Prophet).

  

3.Fiqah ( Islamic law).

  

Due to living in the company of above great Sufi Master for the long period he became his great and famous disciple and he got Khilafat (spiritual successorship) and due to great endeavors and training in the company of Sheikh Syed Shahab Uddin Saherwardi he became perfect in the worship and improved his manners to greater heights and which resemble with the manners of his Sheikh and his great master.

  

He maintained his nightly prayers and devotions.

During the whole night he used to pray the Nafil (supererogatory) prayers. His worship style was very hard and tough as he used to perform Wazu ( ablution) with cold water before four hours from the sunrise and he used to perform the Tahajud (supererogatory prayers in the early hours of morning ) prayers during the nights with great care and attention. When there will be sign of morning time then he was used to perform the morning prayer.

সূরা দাহরে ইরশাদ হয়েছে – ‘আর তাদের রব তাদের খুবই পবিত্র পানীয় পান করাবেন।’সূরা দাহর:২১ (এ দুনিয়াতে) প্রকাশ পায় যা একটি নখে উঠিয়ে নেয়া যায়, তাহলে আসমান এবং জমিনের যা কিছু আছে তার সবকিছুই আলোকিত হয়ে যাবে। আর যদি জান্নাতীদের একজন (দুনিয়ার দিকে) ঝুঁকে দেখে, যার ফলে তার কংকণ প্রকাশ হয়ে যায়, তাহলে সূর্য এমন আলোহীন হয়ে যাবে যেমন সূর্যের কারণে তারকাগুলো আলোহীন হয়ে যায়। @ www.al-jannatbd.com

Qur'an or Koran [Arab.,=reading, recitation], the sacred book of Islam. Revealed by God to the Prophet Muhammad in separate revelations over the major portion of the Prophet's life at Mecca and at Medina, the Qur'an was intended as a recited text, and was not compiled as a single volume during the life of the Prophet. The establishment of the canonical text is attributed to the 3d caliph, Uthman, who appointed a committee (651–52) to reconcile the conflicting versions then available, under the direction of Zaid ibn Thabit, one of the Prophet's scribes. The internal organization of the Qur'an is somewhat ad hoc. Revelations consisted of verses (ayat) grouped into 114 chapters (suras). The arrangement of the suras is mechanical: the first, al-Fateha or "the Opening," is a short prayer exalting God that has become an essential part of all Islamic liturgy and prayer. The rest are graded generally by length, from longest to shortest. It is thus impossible to tell from the book the chronological order of revelations; generally, however, the shorter suras, more electric and fervent than the rest, are the earlier, while many of the longer ones (and all of those revealed at Medina) are later. The Qur'an refers to religious and historical events but seldom provides comprehensive accounts. Its focus is their significance, rather than their narration. God in the Qur'an speaks in the first person. Tafsir, Qur'anic exegesis, initially emerged as a branch of the science of Hadith, in the attempt to gather Muhammad's elucidations of obscure Qur'anic passages, then developed into a separate discipline with the introduction of etymological and literary analysis tools. Being the verbatim Word of God, the text of the Qur'an is valid for religious purposes only in its original Arabic, cannot be modified, and is not translatable, although the necessity for non-Arabic interpretations is recognized. This has made the Qur'an the most read book in its original language and preserved a classical form of Arabic as an Islamic lingua franca and medium of learning.

সূরা দাহরে ইরশাদ হয়েছে – ‘আর তাদের রব তাদের খুবই পবিত্র পানীয় পান করাবেন।’সূরা দাহর:২১ (এ দুনিয়াতে) প্রকাশ পায় যা একটি নখে উঠিয়ে নেয়া যায়, তাহলে আসমান এবং জমিনের যা কিছু আছে তার সবকিছুই আলোকিত হয়ে যাবে। আর যদি জান্নাতীদের একজন (দুনিয়ার দিকে) ঝুঁকে দেখে, যার ফলে তার কংকণ প্রকাশ হয়ে যায়, তাহলে সূর্য এমন আলোহীন হয়ে যাবে যেমন সূর্যের কারণে তারকাগুলো আলোহীন হয়ে যায়। @ www.al-jannatbd.com

জান্নাতীরা তৃপ্তির জন্য শরাব পান করবে। কিন্তু সে শরাব হবে সুগন্ধিময়। জান্নাতের শরাব পান করে কেউ মাতাল হবে না, জ্ঞানশূন্য হবে না, পেটের কোন সমস্যা হবে না, কথায় কোন পরিবর্তন আসবে না। @ www.al-jannatbd.com

সূরা সাফ্ফাতে ইরশাদ হয়েছে-‘তাদের মাঝে ঘুরে ঘুরে পরিবেশন করা হবে স্বচ্ছ-শুভ্র পানীয়ের পানপাত্র, যা পানকারীদের জন্য সুস্বাদু, তাতে মাথা ব্যাথা হবে না এবং তা পান করে মাতালও হবে না। সূরা সাফ্ফাত:৪৫-৪৭ @ www.al-jannatbd.com
