Took this while awaiting my breakfast at You Say Tomato this morning. Centered composition looks alright on this one I think...
a belly view of the biggest table, in toronto at least. this is the weird addition to the ontario college of art and design, by uk architect will alsop with toronto's robbie/young + wright architects. that mass is raised 26 meters above ground and supported by 12 stilts.
frank gehry's make-over at the art gallery of ontario will be right across the street from this, eh, 12-legged monster.
I thought the Buttercup was a challenge, this was even more so.
Main problem was the size, it truly is tiny, the entire plant beng about an inch,25mm high, the flowers only 1/4 inch/6mm across.
It did give me a chance to use my 10 dioptre close-up lense for the first time and I was pretty pleased with the result, even though I wasnt able to keep the full depth in focus.
The second challenge was cleaning up the resulting photo. Regular viewers will know I have little knowledge of photoshop, but the amount of dust and cobwebs on the this tiny thing, meant learning new tricks to get it to an acceptable level. All good learning but not something I want to repeat on a regular basis :)
Lighting will come as no surprise, my normal Neewer mini flash in homemade reflector above the lightbox and triggered by radio trigger.
