I couldn't resist taking photo of what looked like a Face on the Apple Tart.

Single YN560 III above & behind the glass shot through 24" translucent side of a 5in1. @ 1/32 power. 28-135mm IS lens @ 85mm. f/13 iso200 1/160sec. Shot on black glass sheet with black foamboard on the L&R.

This is one of a three part series of shots taken of a reflection on a glass tabletop. In each shot I chose a different point of focus, resulting in three dramatically different images.
Inspired by shots like this one by Cara and this one by Kirstin, I tried to get some tabletop pictures at a restaurant today. I didn't eat there, so I had to be really sneaky and I'm a bit of a chicken with this kind of stuff anyway, so the main one was taken in the outside seating through some railings with live view (because I wasn't eye level with the restaurant, it's kinda on a raised bit above the road) and the one in comments was when I got a little braver and walked up to the restaurant level. A waitress came through the door just then, and I ran away (did I mention that I'm a chicken?). I'll try to be less chickeny next time and I'm also always tempted to take pictures of my food in restaurants, so I need to work on that too.

Always wanted to try this type of a shot. Finally made the time to do it.
Used a wireless shutter release so I could stand over the glass and drop the ice cube into the glass and press the wireless shutter remote as the ice cube dropped. A Yongnuo 685 Speedlight aimed at the white foamcore background with YN-622 trigger in manual mode.
