I first saw this behaviour earlier in the year. On that occasion the adult spent ages trying to get to the flesh of the starfish.
This youngster once it had seen off all it's rivals didn't mess about and simply swallowed the starfish whole.

If you want to know a little bit more about me as a Photographer:
Isaiah 21:9 “And behold, here cometh a chariot of men with two horsemen. ‘And he answered and said, "Babylon is fallen, is fallen! She is turned upside down, and all the images of her gods are smitten to the ground!’”
Revelation 18:2 “And he called out with a mighty voice, ‘Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a dwelling place for demons, a haunt for every unclean spirit, a haunt for every unclean bird, a haunt for every unclean and detestable beast.’”
So shall America fall.
Fully focused on the prize, I've just introduced the new "Fat Balls" to the feeder... and the queue is enormous. But he sits waiting for his turn.
After a day of carousing in the fields, two groups of sandhill cranes head for their nightly refuge at Bosque del Apache.
After reading numerous bits of advice about water drop photography, I decided to try my hand at it. Over one hundred photos later, I found that I had captured this floral water drop as it headed for a splash landing. Although I've tried to replicate this exact experience, it will have to remain in my heart and mind. I suppose that is what is beautiful about life. Every event is rather special in its own way. It's interesting how photography can turn one into a philosopher.

I've always had a love of mountains in winter, and staying in Alpe Devero in the Italian Alps was really magnificent, and we did some wonderful high walks into the mountains. It's such a peaceful place with no cars , and made a perfect start to the new year. I feel so lucky to have these opportunities. Turned 21 is a. great song by Wilko Johnson and Roger Daltrey that was playing in the car as I drove back through blizzards from Italy to Wales in one push. An epic journey after an epic holiday.
We stopped again at the abandoned Waterpark near Barstow, California. We stopped here last year. This time we met the new owner. Much of the park has been destroyed and the rest is destined for renovation of sorts. The plan is to turn the area into a racetrack. A small portion of the original waterpark will continue be used for graffiti contests.
