TUI at Tiritiri Matangi nature reserve

The tūī ( Prosthemadera novaeseelandiae) is a boisterous medium-sized bird native to New Zealand. It is blue, green, and bronze coloured with a distinctive white throat tuft (poi). It is an endemic passerine bird of New Zealand, and the only species in the genus Prosthemadera.

Young Tui paid a visit to the frangipani today. More feeding than singing at the moment.

Native only in New Zealand. These birds have a unique calling.And the most interesting thing I find about these birds is that little bit of white beard like feathers under its neck :)
