With the next Tstyle party just around the corner, trying out different outfits. what do you think of this one? I must say I quite like it!

Another picture from tstyle, this time taken by the wonderful hostess of the event, Angela. Thanks Angela for the picture and the event!

Bought this dress for this year's edition of Tstyle, but it was just cancelled. Too bad as it is a really fun event. So Helene just ended up with a new dress and matching shoes :)

same verdict as tryout 1: Not bad, but not perfect either and after 2 years i was looking for better than "not bad".

Before i get into this foto specifically, first a little background on why i have not posted any pictures for nearly 2 years. I had to push Helene into the cupboard for 2 years. It was NOT because i lost interest in Helene but my pace of life (both family and work) just did not allow any focus on Helene. More specifically the stress that brought just meant that i also did not feel the urge to give Helene any attention.

That situation has now settled down and what better occasion to get Helene out of the cupboard than Tstyle. I planned a Dress Tryout about 2 weeks before the event, but was not happy with anything i tried on, so decided to buy something new. (isn't that typical for any lady :)). Unfortunately the dress in question arrived only 2 days before leaving for the event so no time to try it on. I decided to take my new dress and a backup which my wife did NOT approve of as it was just a business suit. She insisted on a dress. And as usual she was right.... Fortunately the new dress fit like a glove and you can see the result in the next pictures. Final remark before i stop rambling: I promise to give Helene more time in the spotlight (where she loves to be) in the days and weeks to come so you should see some more pictures soon!!! hugs, Helene

Yes it was this time of year again: Tstyle. And what a party it was again. It was wonderful, exciting, chatty and the prime way to get to talk to old and new friends with a similar 'hobby' as mine. It seems I am starting a tradition to take a selfie in this mirror in the Doorwerth castle where the party takes place twice a year... Tell me what you think!

So this was the dress i bought online in a store in the UK for 'mother of the bride' dresses. it was 75% off and i was lucky that the last one they had was my size (UK size 14). i really liked the color, the way it showed the fake 'off shoulder') and the circular decoration around the waist. That was what finally made me decide to buy it. I just loved it when i put it on, and even if it sounds a bit.... over the top, i got a lot of very nice remarks from the other ladies on Tstyle. But also wondering what you think, so let me know what you think in the comments!

Seem to have had a 'bad hair' issue here but the outfit is another possibility for Tstyle. I probably will take both and decide the very last minute. Or will ask my wife and let her decide if I cannot make up my mind :)

early hours of the party. off to the bathroom and a quick selfie. at this time my feet were killing me but fortunately you cannot tell on a picture

I was trying this out to see if I could wear pants to Tstyle (party in Holland last week). I ended up not wearing it but wore a dress...

the best I can do using the selfie on my phone. my wife still in the bathroom getting ready. These ladies sure need a long time to powder their nose :)

different pose, same person

they call it the ugliest guitar on earth - but I like it - and a Metaxa on Sunday night

After a day trying out a lot of different guitars it came down to these two. In the end decided on the LSL but the G&L ran it close. Many thanks to Dave and all the staff at Guitar Guitar Epsom for making us feel so welcome this afternoon.

In the beginning it was a plain sheet of steel, delivered by "Baublechnerei Doerr", www.bestelldeinblech.de

Done! You can see that it is not a true Fender ;-)

Why not buying a bridge? Well, this is a Telecaster clone of its own. No bridge in the wohle wide web will fit. Believe me, I was looking for a very long time.

Jet Fighter Showdown

Developed

by the Soviet Union, the MiG-15 first flew in 1947 and entered service in June

1950, just in time for the Korean War. The appearance of MiG-15s over North Korea in November 1950 – flown secretly by Soviet pilots – put a

stop to daylight bombing raids by U.S. Air Force bombers. On November 1, 1950, MiG-15s took part in the world’s first jet-versus-jet

dogfight, when four MiGs encountered four Lockheed F-80s over North Korea. Though externally

similar to the MiG-15, the MiG-15bis incorporated many improvements, including

a more-powerful engine, and entered service in 1951.

The

Museum’s MiG-15bis was acquired from China in 1990 by J. Curtis Earl, and was donated to the Museum by

the American Fighter Aces Association in 2003. The aircraft carries the colors

of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Air Force, including nine kill

markings.

The MiG Legacy

Following

the success of the MiG-15 (with more than 16,000 built), the name “MiG” became

synonymous with “Communist Fighter” and thousands of MiGs have served with some

60 nations since 1950. During the Cold

War, the Soviet Union also licensed MiG production to other nations, including China, Czechoslovakia, India, and Poland.

Flying the MiG-15 to Freedom

On September 21, 1953, a North Korean pilot in search of freedom landed his

MiG-15 on Kimpo Air Base, South Korea. Unknown to the pilot, No Kum-Sok, a $100,000 reward was

waiting for him, so anxious was the United States to get its hands on a MiG-15. No Kum-Sok became an

American citizen and his MiG-15 is now displayed at the National

Museum of the United States Air Force at Wright-Patterson Air

Force Base, Ohio.
