Bright sunshine and a plethora of tourists made shooting tricky so I elected for my Super Stopper and guestimated, resulting in a 188 second exposure of the sea stacks at Vik (Iceland) also known as the Trolls.

Thanks in advance for any comments or favourites you may wish to make.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends!!

Do Trolls actually live in trees? Perhaps it's a Gremlin?

Cat's in the cradle

My child arrived just the other day

He came to the world in the usual way

But there were planes to catch and bills to pay

He learned to walk while I was away

And he was talkin' 'fore I knew it, and as he grew

He'd say "I'm gonna be like you dad

You know I'm gonna be like you"

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon

Little boy blue and the man on the moon

When you comin' home dad?

I don't know when, but we'll get together then son

You know we'll have a good time then

My son turned ten just the other day

He said, "Thanks for the ball, Dad, come on let's play

Can you teach me to throw", I said "Not today

I got a lot to do", he said, "That's ok"

And he walked away but his smile never dimmed

And said, "I'm gonna be like him, yeah

You know I'm gonna be like him"

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon

Little boy blue and the man on the moon

When you comin' home dad?

I don't know when, but we'll get together then son

You know we'll have a good time then

Well, he came home from college just the other day

So much like a man I just had to say

"Son, I'm proud of you, can you sit for a while?"

He shook his head and said with a smile

"What I'd really like, Dad, is to borrow the car keys

See you later, can I have them please?"

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon

Little boy blue and the man on the moon

When you comin' home son?

I don't know when, but we'll get together then dad

You know we'll have a good time then

I've long since retired, my son's moved away

I called him up just the other day

I said, "I'd like to see you if you don't mind"

He said, "I'd love to, Dad, if I can find the time

You see my new job's a hassle and kids have the flu

But it's sure nice talking to you, Dad

It's been sure nice talking to you"

And as I hung up the phone it occurred to me

He'd grown up just like me

My boy was just like me

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon

Little boy blue and the man on the moon

When you comin' home son?

I don't know when, but we'll get together then dad

You know we'll have a good time then

looked like this geo thermal vent had swallowed this bridge or was it a hiding place to the Troll's Entrance to their lair?

Not really. Just one of the brethren collecting images for the local newspaper.

Trolls do not like sun, so they are very happy at sunset. Met this little one in Komsa last night

Nature can be spooky sometimes. No wonder Icelanders started to believe in trolls and elves in the early days. But now we know it is just a rock, or is it?

Created with 2 Wombo images plus hiker added from a third, all blended with Pixelmator Pro.

Prompts: Troll under forest bridge, ultra realistic skin and human eyes, scruffy hair

Style: VFX v2

Used a gray toned texture as an input.

I hope this hiker just turned around and ran the other way.

So glad you joined the this trek!

the macromondays' theme for today, 2/18, presidents day in the USA, is hard light and this is the posting for today. this portion of the little purple haired troll pin is just under 2 inches. i rather liked the streaming tendrils of unruly purple hair

ODC- easy and difficult

(achieving hard light conditions with a p&s camera)

This was taken at the famous photography hotspot of Vik in Iceland. Apparently there's a troll lurking in the depths of the ocean awaiting passing ships to feast on. What appear at first glance to be sea stacks are in fact the troll’s teeth. That's what the tour guide told us anyway. It sounds perfectly plausible to me (P8230607)

Two trolls under the long exposure spell through the black beach.

My favourite at this year's pumpkin exhibition is this troll. He is huge and made of hundreds of pumpkins. A quite friendly troll, I think, and I would have wanted to take him home. :)

Wow! Another one.

A great place for a picnic and paddling in the stream, on a nice day.

Just having fun and practicing with PSE 14 now that I have time. I made this for a Facebook group. This tree tempted me to do something else. (Best in large screen)

The sun came too fast for the trolls. They turned into stone and will stay by the sea, watching the time goes by

One of 5 different water falls at Troll Falls. Each waterfall is very different. This one you can walk behind.

What's this Tim? A panoramic bridge photograph that you took during the blue hour? Very unusual!

What can I say. I like bridges.

After stopping in Llandudno we traveled onto Caernarfon. We used the town as a base to travel to Anglesea (although we never made it to our final destination; South Stack Lighthouse).

I love this bridge- it's height gives it such a presence for miles around.

At this point of the evening, the shadows beneath and surrounding the bridge were pitch black. Dark enough to hide even the most evil of Twitter trolls, no doubt.
