Third in the lux series. This one came the closest to what I was thinking. Might be more... we'll see. I posted it fairly large so you can see some of the unexpected details. Take a look at the specks of light in and around the tree.
We had our first real snowfall last night and woke up to a winter wonderland. Throughout the day, the sun was in and out of the clouds, light reflecting in odd ways with each passing squall, and sunsets appearing where they shouldn't be. Here the afternoon sun was behind me, lighting up the clouds to the east, and was just bright enough to reflect on this massive tree.
Ahhh, a new year, a new decade, and for me... maybe not new, but renewed efforts to become a better photographer, a better Flickr contributor and a follower to those of you who have stuck with me, even though I've had trouble finding visiting on any kind of regular basis. I don't see work slowing down any time soon, so instead of waiting for large blocks of work down time, gonna try to take advantage of small blocks of time and do a lot more short visits. Gotta do something, I love being on Flickr because of all of you. Your photography inspires me, and your encouragement motivates me to keep going, to keep trying to improve.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, Hanukkah, or whatever you celebrate over the holiday season. I was home for Christmas, actually had 5 days off. It was the first time I've been home for Christmas in over 10 years. Had so much fun visiting family, especially the grandkids.
I took this picture inside of Draper City Park near my mom's house. It's kinda famous locally, people call it the tree of life. I'd call it the tree of lights. (Just looked it up, it's called officially Tree of Light, my mom called it tree of life, not for me to correct Mom) Can't imagine how long it must take to hang all those lights. My mom and I were headed back home after visiting my daughter and grandkids. (Son in law was working) Anyway, it was night time and I saw the tree off to the left and had to pull into the park to take some pictures of the tree. The park has a dozen or more other trees with lights, but this one is the parks main attraction. I found the best spot I could that allowed me to get the "Life Tree" and only have to edit out a few distractions. Lots of kids and adults roaming around the park, everyone heading to and from the big light tree.
Anyway, will post this now. I have about an hour and a half before my next pickup. I'm in Pacific WA now, my pickup is 12 miles away in Kent. Then a short trip to Hermiston OR for delivery tomorrow morning. Who knows after that.

Adam Stubley „Lichterbaum“
Das Eingangskunstwerk ist beliebter Treffpunkt für den Bummel über das Festivalgelände.
Adam Stubley, britischer Künstler mit Wohnsitz am Ammersee, hat in diesem Jahr einen ganz besonderen Weihnachtsbaum, einen Lichterbaum erdacht und gebaut.
Er ist acht Meter hoch und besteht nur aus Draht.
Seine Krone trägt Hunderte von Lichtpunkten, die wie Sternschnuppen am Himmel über Tollwood leuchten.

Adam Stubley "Tree of Light"
The entrance artwork is a popular meeting place for a stroll through the festival area.
Adam Stubley, British artist residing on the Ammersee, this year has devised and built a very special Christmas tree, a tree of light.
It is eight meters high and consists only of wire.
His crown carries hundreds of points of light that shine like falling stars in the sky above Tollwood.
This is in downtown Saint Louis Missouri, USA. The tree is the symbol for an annual fundraising campaign for the Salvation Army.

Been soo busy with exams and etc all these while..hope i'll have more time to go out and shoot something after this.
Last Saturday I went to Nagoya Station to shot some illumination there..gahh..night shot are very difficult to do without a tripod... [-,-]

Some of my sky scapes seems to be making a comeback in colour now that I am learning about Lightroom.
The colours are not true to life, but true to spirit. There was a warmth on the slight breeze and on the long rays of late autumn sunlight.
