My thanks to all who see this on Looking Close on Friday and add your comments!

What treasures are the crowd hunting for? When you see a crowd of people gathering and swiping on their smart phones, most likely you can think they are hunting the treasures of Pokémon.

A moody day on Sneafellsnes peninsula...Iceland

"Harmless, happy little treasures,

Full of truth, and trust, and mirth,

Richest wealth and purest pleasures,

In this mean and guilty earth.

How I love you, pretty creatures,

Lamb-like flock of little things,

Where the love that lights your features,

From the heart in beauty springs!"

When the creeks and rivers swell with water it's a great time to go find hidden treasures like this one we found in the Alberni Valley. It was pouring rain when I shot this but I think it was worth it to get a little wet! My dad was a total trooper and held the umbrella over my camera while I shot this. Thanks Dad!

a pardner, a friend

a lover for life.

a treasure most priceless

this lovely, my wife.

why she loves me

I never will know;

I guess I was 'cute' once;

but now, old and slow!

When first I saw her

I thought "she is 'sweet'"

but laughed to myself

when she offered a seat.

"she is a real cutie but

really 'too bold' for

she's but a 'child';

I'm 18 years old !"

but I could't forget

that fresh trusting face.

The thought of it now

still makes my heart race.

When first I did visit,

her mom said I oughta

make it my duty to

come date her daughta

In spite of "alarms"

going off in my head

I found she invaded the

dreams in my bed.

when on that 'day'

she said "be my boy"

I knew that my life would have

'humor' and joy.

some tears we have had

but too few to measure.

for this I am sure off;

she's my priceless treasure.

post script: "though you still doubt sometimes, accept that I love you

far beyond the words that even a 'good' poet could write."

PS..august 25, 2020 will mark 58 years together

The legends live on and the stories are told,

Of pirates and treasure chests laden with gold.

Many a ship’s been claimed by this coast,

Their bounties sunk and resting with ghosts.

From St. Lucie to Juno, Stuart to Hobe Sound,

Here lies the ghosts and treasures unfound.

Abandoned gold mine near Searchlight,NV.According to a gentleman downtown carrying a sign selling "jerky",the biggest treasure taken from this mine was probably good photographs....

During this year, at Fantasy Faire 2021, we were able to do different Quests and I did one with Birds. This was the portal who bring us to the Treasure.

At the end of the day

this intact bird wing was lying on the ground in front of the abbey in ruins, just waiting for me to pick it up and take it back home with me so that it could make its way into my photos. and so here it is...

cette aile entière, intacte, m'attendait devant l'abbaye, attendant que je l'amène chez moi pour se trouver dans mes photos. et voilà...

Playing along with the kids

Snapping photos of them when they don't see

Laying on the floor with them

Painting and chatting

How lucky I am to experience this

I was walking by the river in Multnomah Channel Yacht Club, Scappoose, when I saw this cabana next to the river, with the view of beautiful mountains with snow, so peaceful isn't it?

With the last light of the sun and the pink sky I captured it.

Such a hidden treasure!

A small, sweet section of my Mom's garden! The bright, pink shrub behind the lovely statues is an Azalea.

A frozen Treasure Falls in Colorado.

My favorite shot from the "close-up" series. Shot handheld with 50mm lens + Raynox DCR-250 combination.

Best viewed large. Highly recommended.

Along Wolf Creek Pass between South Fork and Pagosa Springs is Treasure Falls. It's worth a stop to get out, stretch your legs a little and take a hike.

I loved the rich muted colors of this Olive-backed Euphonia...another of my 'treasured species' found in Costa Rica.

A couple of treasured objects. A hand-made suede (leather) book mark that my Dad made about 1960, and a Second World War Compass that he gave me. He passed just over 43 years ago.
