At last I found a suitable subject for my Monthly Project, Multiple Exposures.
I wasn't able to fully circle this Acer at High Beeches, but managed a wide arc with 8 images, merged in Photoshop.

Treasure Hunt.
We have visited Edinburgh many times but had never visited Calton Hill. It was a beautiful morning and the view from the hill is stupendous but hidden from this viewpoint. This is 7 photos stitched together in Lightroom. Fife can be seen across the Firth of Forth.

These steel storage towers caught my eye when we stopped at a petrol station in rural Castilla La Mancha
....and we’re off on another photographic journey; some days will be fun and some frustrating and some will just whizz by at high speed. I'm looking forward to exploring the highways and byways of photography with the group this year. Welcome back to old friends from last year and my first and second 365 and a very warm welcome to new members of the group. I hope you will enjoy the ride as much as I do.

Treasure Hunt 14: Alien
I was looking for something else in T K Maxx and spotted these shocking pink shoes. At £5 I couldn’t resist them to replace my recently deceased mules :-)) Sorry Nick, still not your size ;-) For Treasure Hunt 47.
A play with my Christmas present, the Lensbaby Omni creative filters. Here I have used two of the wands: the crystal seahorse and the rainbow film.
See comments for this morning's play with just the Velvet lens before opening my presents.

In March of 2023, my sister and I were given a HUGE haul of 166 dolls. Since so many of the dollies were in great condition, I decided not to film a transformation video featuring all of them. So we made this haul video so you could still see them all.
***I made a few mistakes in the video--we got Sun Sensation Ken (not Hawaiian Fun). One of the Disney Store Jasmine dolls is actually a 2015 JC Penney Wardrobe Set doll.

Secondhand shopping can be very hit or miss. Sometimes people have very unrealistic expectations--like you'll get lucky and find boatloads of awesome stuff every time you go shopping. In the past few weeks, we didn't have much luck at the flea market. One weekend got rained out, the next Sunday was BEAUTIFUL...but we came home without a single thing in hand (literally, there was nothing despite how packed the flea market was). The weekend after that, Colleen found just two dolls. This Sunday seemed like it would be another bust. As we were wandering down one of the aisles, I spotted a large container on the ground. I seriously think I have doll "spidey" senses, because somehow I knew there was good stuff in the container. Sure enough, there was a cluster of dolls and some random furniture. Initially, I didn't think we'd buy the lot despite the fact that Colleen was intrigued by Dance Club Devon and I was fixated on Jewel Secrets Whitney. The seller wanted $20 for the group, which seemed a little steep. There were tons of random body parts, practically no clothes, and a few newer dolls/furniture pieces mixed in the bunch. So we walked away to mull it over, figuring we'd return if there was nothing else to buy. Secretly, I had this feeling we'd come home with this lot. I felt terrible about the number of decapitated dolls. Surely they would get thrown out if someone didn't eventually buy them. Plus, how many people could properly fix some of these dolls when there were missing neck articulations, broken necks, and scary looking heads with matted hair?!! Sometimes, Colleen and I will adopt "special needs" dolls because we know if we don't, they will end up in a landfill somewhere. These dolls especially pulled at my heart strings since the 80s is my favorite decade of Barbie.
Sunday was a great day for this sort of lot to turn up, because there wasn't anything else of interest to purchase. When we doubled back, the seller bartered with us and knocked off two dollars from the lot. Of course, he wanted to keep the green container the dolls were in. That's why we always take a stash of reusable shopping bags with us whenever we go. Seriously, men ALWAYS are more interested in their valuable plastic containers than the dolls inside them (I've literally saved $5 off lots before by letting the seller keep the container the dolls were in).
The seller gave us a little back story on these dolls, which is a rare treat when you purchase secondhand items. Apparently, he and his wife tried selling them at a yard sale a few years ago (I'm guessing that the 80s Barbies were probably from their children growing up). The reason there were practically no clothes on the dolls was because a little girl with special needs undressed them all at the yard sale. His wife let her have all the clothes for just $3. Apparently, the little girl was fascinated by the clothes, but not with the dolls. I don't blame her, because dolls from this era can look intimidating if you didn't grow up with them. As a kid from the 90s, I was always a little shocked by secondhand 80s Barbies we got growing up (although I did warm up to them obviously). Although it's disappointing that the dolls were mostly naked, I'm glad that their outfits made someone else so happy.
We did get some really awesome furniture pieces. We even saved a few random odds and ends (like the store racks) that were made for other toys. They'd be handy for photos! Colleen and I dubbed this group the "Rolling Heads Lot." Normally I'd have denoted it by our favorite doll (like Jewel Secrets Whitney or Dance Club Devon). But the decapitation was so rampant with this group, that it makes this lot memorable. I should also note that two of the bodies were just as they are--no heads at ALL! The Skipper body had a head with a pixie cut. It turns out Tropical Barbie also had a mangled haircut, so she couldn't be saved. Luckily I have oodles of her already, and this body will go to use (bodies are like gold). At first I thought poor Rocker Derek didn't have a head...it was buried at the bottom of the container.
Everyone else is already doing much better, even though I'm currently not done their makeovers (I'm presently at the dressing, hair styling, and head reattaching phase....plus Diva needs another zillion boil washes).

After a stunning morning at RSPB reserve at Titchwell we went to a very wet and muddy Thornham Harbour. No doubt this old boat by the coal barn has been photographed many times, but I do love a bit of decay and rust. Treasure Hunt, wreck.
For the treasure hunt. The mermaid at the Students' guild at the University of Birmingham and behind her is an aerial. Any extra points for the Chinese lanterns?
We weren't planning on popping into the local Salvation Army today. But we decided to when we were on the way to visit our aunt. Lately, the toy section has been barren, as our store has been doing some rearranging. Ironically, today I told Colleen that we weren't going to find anything...and then we struck gold! I am a sucker for Disney dolls, and I just couldn't resist this Anna when I spotted her donning this coronation dress. A moment later, her Kristoff counterpart turned up too...we just couldn't separate the couple now could we? The boxed dolls were just $5.99 each, which was a bargain considering they are collector dollies. I of course wanted Reba, since I specifically love any kind of celebrity doll (despite not being a celebrity person). I was also intrigued by this Western Chic Barbie...in a strange way, she reminds both of us of our childhood Santa's Helper doll (it's the eyes). The pair seem to be impeccable quality too! As for the Monster High dolls, they were of course my favorite score. Perri and Pearl were a duo that we had hoped to get sooner than later--we had to pass an overpriced set of them at the flea market a few years ago, but I always debated whether or not I made the right choice. For a dollar per doll though, how could you go wrong? Clawdeen goes with my "Emoji" Lagoona, who I rescued from the same store a few months ago. It looks as though she's never been played with. Viperine caught my eye when I saw her bedraggled body on the shelf in a cluster of other dolls. I've been wanting her for a while as well. Sadly, someone gave her a bob hairdo, but it's salvageable. The best part is, none of these dolls need limbs, and they all have their original ensembles. I'm so excited to clean these ladies up and to add a few new interesting faces to my collection:

Holy crap, I cannot believe the luck Colleen and I have finally struck! Our good luck seems to run in streaks--we'll go a few weeks without finding much of anything, and then all of a sudden, we'll hit several bins in a row! If you don't know already, hoarding lots of dolls is our very favorite thing. It's so much fun making over someone else's entire collection, and piecing all the dolls back together. This was not only a massive haul of dolls, but also the cheapest group we've ever purchased (except of course "Free Friday Finds"). Believe it or not, we got 73 dolls for only $5, with oodles of clothes and accessories (plus some playsets). Apparently, the sellers were trying to raise money to enter a competition, and wanted to sell stuff at a really cheap price, to ensure they could raise enough money. When I spotted the lot on Sunday, I was intrigued as it was a very deep container, that was overflowing with dolls. Quite literally, the dolls were about three inches above the rim of the container. I thought that there would be a lot of filler stuff, like kids clothes and other junk. Of course there was, but I had no idea that there were 73 DOLLS in this haul. Then, five minutes later, we spotted a small broken cardboard box on the ground, loaded with a few dolls and tons of clothes. We always are looking to add more clothes to our collection. This lot also coincidentally cost $5 (the dolls it contained were quite a bit older and junkier). So for $10, we got almost 80 dolls and a container stuffed with clothes, plus lots of plastic stuff. The container in this picture is filled with all the clothes we got on Sunday--they were cleaned already by the time this picture was taken, thus why they are quarantined separately. There was a miscommunication between Colleen and I--when I asked her to get some containers to sort the stuff into, she thought I meant soak it all...so that's why we had to wait to film the rest of the video and take this picture (the clothes needed to dry which took forever). Anyways, we additionally found a Harry Potter figurine--Colleen has been collecting these since 2002, and rarely stumbles upon one she doesn't already have. I found Alice and Wendy still boxed in the last aisle of the flea market. There were other dolls that were tempting, but I didn't want to spend a ton of money. I'm so excited about making over my new, stinky friends. They REALLY reek of filth and I also detect a faint nicotine odor. Stay tuned for a transformation video of these dolls if you are interested

Treasure Hunt 8: Monthly topic August.
My birthday present from my sister arrived as a lovely surprise.
These glasses are huge, and very delicate. Oh dear! Either I'll snap the stem, or Dave will knock them over...
The parcel also included a selection of Welsh Gins made by the Old Brenin Distillery. I chose the Petals of the South one to try.
I never could work out the gin fascination, having been brought up on Gordons or Gilbeys.
Well, I *might* become rather partial to these fancy gins!!
What else to do on a wet day? Photograph these for the Treasure Hunt!
Treasure Hunt 34: Glasses
On Veterans Day (which was last Wednesday), Toys 'R' Us ran the most incredible sale on Bratz. ALL Bratz products were 50% off!!! I've been really "good" with Bratz stuff for the most part since they came back this year, because I've been waiting to catch sales. Plus, the shipping was free if you spent over $19. I had no idea TRU was going to run such an awesome sale, which is why I ordered the Storytime Princess Collection pack the week before (which was also on sale with free shipping). I try to wait to buy a lot of stuff in stores during the majority of the year, because I find that things go on amazing sales when the holiday season begins. Since I don't do Black Friday shopping, this was my substitute I suppose. I am SO excited about all these new goodies!!! I've been dying for more Bratz stuff, but it's just so expensive on a regular basis. I feel bad for my new dolls though. Apparently the mailman dropped the box off late yesterday, since it wasn't on my front steps when I brought my sister home from work. So when I went outside this morning to empty out my bucket of used guinea pig hay, I saw a huge box on my porch. The dolls were freezing cold since it was 23 degrees Fahrenheit last night.
I'm not sure what I'm most excited about, because these were the items that I wanted most. I was really tempted by all the Bratz stuff, but I prioritized by what I "needed" and what I had really been wanting. I collect fashion packs in particular since I buy so many second hand, nude dolls, so I was more than happy to snag all the fashion packs while they were on sale (except for the one Deluxe Fashion Pack I already got for my birthday in August). I wasn't actually planning on getting the Shoefies unless they went on sale, so I was thrilled. Plus, even the limited edition pair of shoes that was originally available with pre-orders was on sale! The Study Abroad line has been one of my favorites since it came out, and I've been so tempted to buy at least one doll for ages now, but they are very pricey cuties. I've also been looking for Raya and Cameron, but I haven't seen them at any stores since they came out (not that I go to many stores on a regular basis though). I'm still shocked that TRU ran such an awesome sale!!! My Bratz heart is very content. The only other dolls that I definitely will eventually get this year (sale or no sale) will be the Sleepover Party dolls (all but Sasha who I already have).

Another busy day on the computer. I was looking round for a POTD, and noticed how the world seemed completely different when reflected in my metallic water bottle.
I have been finding the confines of Lockdown 3.0 much harder, and I confess I Could be Happy elsewhere...
Treasure Hunt 14: Alter
This little haul spans two days from this week. Originally, I didn't plan to snap a photo of our flea market finds. We only found Scary Spice and Mulan, at the elderly couple's booth (where our Wellies came from earlier this year). They had a few new dollies out this weekend, but most weren't prime pickings. If it had been a busier day, I probably wouldn't have bought either doll (they are kind of pricey at $3...for the flea market that is). But I was compelled by Scary the second I found her wearing her original garb. I had her shorts already--they were on my forlorn Summer Swim Magic Avery a relative rescued from the trash (Christmas 2019 gift). I also had parts of this outfit as a kid, so she's extra iconic to me! Mulan is a character I don't see at the flea market all that often. My other two Disney Store Mulan dolls are wearing virtually the same dress. This one has a unique design and color palette. Plus her body mold is also varied! I should note that all the goodies in this photo were already cleaned before I took it. Like I said, I wasn't planning on taking this for my "Treasure Hunts" album. So the girls had already been bathed by the time I got the camper and such (the playsets were squalid, that's why I washed them before too).
As for the rest of the items in this picture--the playsets and clothes--those were all FREE!!! On the way home from dropping Colleen off at work on Monday, something caught the corner of my eye. I noticed what looked like a Barbie camper of sorts and doll hair in front of someone's yard. I couldn't turn around and look because of how busy that street is (sadly someone got hit and killed in that area later in the week--it's pretty dangerous). Anyways, I texted Colleen about what I thought I saw, so she'd remind me to slow down and pull over on our way home together in a few hours. Because the stuff was hidden by some parked cars, and it was scorchingly hot, I figured it would still be there. The three playsets were all the dolly related things we wanted. It turns out the hair I spotted belonged to some baby dolls of sorts (who we obviously left behind). The clothes, shoes, and fragments of camper accessories were all stowed away in the camper. I had to give it several hard, upside down shakes before cleaning to get everything out. Even so, I still had to use pliers to weedle out the lone knife, that had gotten stuck in the driver's compartment. Although the camper isn't 100% complete, it's still in great shape, as is the 2-Story House. We already had the Pop-Up Playhouse as kids, but ours has gotten discolored over the years. This one still looks very fresh and vibrant, despite missing so many components.

This just proves that Real Guys can do Pink!
Part of the Treasure Hunt Games with the neighbor kids.
They hid toys and actually wrote out the notes with their clues.
In a way it is fun education as they learn to describe a situation and add some humor to it.
Their notes on this location:
oh no their was another 4 wheeler accident across from the elevator. [a yellow rope on a steep bank]
Bonus
you can keep the 4 wheeler.
And so I did as they knew I would find it and 'play'.
I had a dentist appointment on Tuesday, which gave us the perfect excuse to stop at a local consignment store. It's the sort of place that isn't worth making a special trip to. However, we can never resist popping in if the store is on our way somewhere. We've had decent American Girl luck here over the years (it's the location I got my Felicity doll named Emerald from). On this particular day, things were fairly picked over. However, Colleen found a loose Bitty Baby blanket (from a Starter Collection), and we snagged a pair of plain white tights (which we saw last time). You can never go wrong with these basic staples! Both items cost a little less than three dollars...supposedly there was some sort of sale (but it wasn't much of a bargain if you ask me). The blanket is insanely well made--I always wanted a Bitty Baby Starter Collection as a kid!
After my appointment, we had plenty of time to drive a little out of the way to check out Walmart. I was in the dentist for only about twenty minutes, so we had more free time than I thought we would. This Walmart is about ten minutes up the road, but there tends to be quite a bit of traffic. So we don't always make the trek there. Colleen hinted that she wanted to stop in, so I figured why not. Last time we were there, about a year ago if I'm not mistaken, there wasn't much of interest. We did snag some real baby clothes that were on clearance for the Cabbies. But as for actual fashion dolls, it was a bust. This time though, there was clearance GALORE! When we first walked into the store, there was a wheeling cart filled with markdowns. I spotted Cheeky Babe in the Lil Music Tour set. I've had my eye on her for a while (she reminds me of the Pretty 'N' Punk Bratz line...my favorite ever). I decided to walk around and think about it because she was $9 (not bad considering she originally was marked at $16.88). I did double back to buy her on our way to check out though. We checked out the baby clothes too, but there weren't any things for Oscar or Baldwin (our large softies from the 80s). At the back of the toy section, I spotted another shelf of clearance dolls. This is where I found Sways, from the Queens collection. I was ecstatic that she was eleven dollars!!! I have had my eye on her too, at our regular Walmart location. She has been in the "clearance" section there, but is still $20...insert annoyed face here. I was always mesmerized by this doll's awesome micro braided hair and cheerful color palette. I immediately snatched her up with the intention to buy. I pretty much exclusively collect O.M.G. dolls only if they are on some sort of sale or secondhand, so this was exciting. At the opposite end of the store, near the gardening stuff, there were the usual clearance aisles to check out. I spotted a couple of L.O.L. Surprise balls for $4 each. I have been curious about the Color Change Surprise dollies in particular (I wanted to see how they compared in person to the original releases). I also love the glittery holiday themed ones, which is why I snagged Prezzie. The nice thing about her wave is that you know exactly who you are buying. I ended up with Go-Go Gurl from the Color Change Surprise line if you were wondering (it was fun comparing her to my standard version of Go-Go Gurl). All in all, it was a very worthwhile venture heading out to Walmart. Sometimes it's a bust, but this trip was a treasure trove. I appreciate it since our local Walmart has been very stingy with markdowns this year.

MOST INNOVATIVE GAME SHOW
Treasure Hunt (United Kingdom)
U.K.: Channel 4 / Thames Television / ITV
1982–1989
Based off the French show La Chasse au Trésor, created by Jacques Antoine, Treasure Hunt is time sensitive game show broadcast on a variety of networks in the United Kingdom during its entire run. A team of two contestants in the studio had to use a library of maps and reference materials to solve up to five clues, and communicate instructions via a radio link to a skyrunner (Anneka Rice) who had the use of a helicopter. Although viewers could see the skyrunner, the contestants could not, and all communication between them was by audio only. The contestants were given the first clue for free, the solving of which would lead to the location of the second clue and so on until a trinket or other significant object was found by solving the final clue. The contestants won a higher cash prize each time they solved a clue correctly. Once the contestants had solved the final clue, the skyrunner still had to confirm they were correct, by reaching the final target. On a few occasions, the contestants solved all five clues with time to spare, in which case, a bonus clue was given to the contestants.
1983 Episode (Early in the series)
www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMqIZqRc7fI
According to a "making of Treasure Hunt" programme, Anneka Rice was confined to the hotel on the day that the camera operator, video and sound recordist; and helicopter pilot undertook a rehearsal (typically the day before the programme was recorded), so she had no advance knowledge of the locations. This did not stop her carrying out research about the general area in order to have a stock of facts to fill in any silences that might arise while the contestants were thinking.
1988 Episode (Later in the series)
www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAYZ53XHb0Q
The skyrunner and helicopter did not have freedom to fly and land anywhere they wished. Although the pilot could to an extent request permission from airspace authorities to fly off-course, as happened on occasions, landings needed to be agreed in advance with landowners of a suitable location near the clue. On occasions the helicopter would land in a clearly marked out area, especially at public places. Kenneth Kendall always stressed that he did not know the clues and locations in advance, and any help that he gave the contestants was from his own knowledge.

This season, it seems that rain prevents me from going to the flea market weekly. But I honestly don't mind, because when I do have the chance to go, I end up finding a TON of stuff! This week didn't start out too promising. My sister and I scaled through about two thirds of the flea market, and only found Cinderella and Skiing Vacation Stacie (plus a "Meet" Felicity dress which is probably in better condition than my childhood one) from one of our regular sellers. But on the last leg of the flea market, we kept finding all sorts of goodies. I spotted a container on the ground filled with a handful of dolls and a TON of clothes. Most of the dolls had bad haircuts, which meant they would be excellent body donors (which is why they aren't pictured here). Pocahontas, Kira, Chelsea, and Daniela were the sole survivors. However, the bin was well worth it considering the small hoard of clothes we found inside. My sister and I like to purchase bins filled with predominately clothes, as they balance out the lots we buy that are mostly filled with nude dollies (ahem the "Ken Suitcase lot").
Several minutes later, I spotted WNBA Christie located on one of the regular seller's tables. She was in impeccable condition, so even though she was sort of pricey I couldn't help myself! Down that same aisle, a different seller gave my sister and I a box filled with miscellaneous Barbie playsets for free! Ordinarily, I try to only purchase playsets I desperately want as they take up a lot of space in storage, but for free, I just couldn't say no! The last aisle was littered with perhaps the best goodies of them all. I came across a boxed Britney Spears doll, which excited me very much (although I was hoping that she was the same doll as my childhood "Oops I Did It Again" lady). Seconds later, I caught Crystal Ken out of the corner of my eye down the pathway. He was next to Magic Moves Barbie, Happy Birthday Barbie, and the two Heart Family dollies. But upon closer inspection, I discerned that this same seller had Katia boxed AND more doll clothes. We got all that for only $10!!! The clothes inside the baggies from this tiny lot were gold--they are mostly from the 80s, and there are also two 60s pieces. 80s Barbie clothes are seriously like candy to me. I feel like the trend for this flea market season has been Heart Family dolls and Britney Spears dolls, which makes me very happy. Plus, every week my sister and I have gone so far, we've come home with lots of dolls, which is our favorite score of them all!

Two awesome hauls back to back??? I'm so excited that Colleen and I are finally starting to have some good luck secondhand shopping this year (although I can't complain since our local Salvation Army became a dolly oasis). Anyways, the dolls and clothes shown here are from a local charity store. I had a dentist appointment in the afternoon yesterday, and like always, after I was done, Colleen and I took advantage of the nearby stores. This charity store is known for the occasional grubby, neglected doll. I never anticipated that we'd find so much good stuff.
Colleen spotted Ski Fun Ken first, staring through a clear plastic container in the toy room. I thought he was probably Ski Fun Ken, Colleen was hoping he'd be another All American Ken. Either way, he was a shoe in to come home with us, as we love Ken dolls from this generation. Plus the poor dude was naked! Miko captured my attention as well--I was pretty sure she was another Island Fun gal, but a different variant than the one I already had (turns out I was right, and they are different country makes from one another). And what could be even better than some old Barbies? Why Bratz of course! This Beach Party Yasmin doesn't have a hair cut like my old lady, and she needed a home. Poor Meygan was never even opened up-- I couldn't say no (I have a very sentimental place in my heart for "Black Friday" Bratz). I was already feeling like we had scored, when Colleen found a small plastic baggie stashed with little doll clothes. Initially, she went to put it back in the doll container, assuming the bag was filled with clone clothes. But upon closer inspection, we both realized it was loaded with Dawn stuff! Most of the fashions are complete, and the baggie was only $5! Now my poor lonely Longlocks doll has two friends, and a new wardrobe. It turns out that some of these clothes aren't actually Dawn clones, but they are just as well made as the authentic ones (plus they are adorable). I can't wait to makeover these dolls with the ones from my last haul.
