Dunguaire Castle ist keine Burg im klassischen Sinn, es war ein Wohnturm (Tower House) hatte aber Wehranlagen. Erbaut wurde es 1520 auf den Resten der ursprünglichen Anlage. Die Burg war auch Kulisse des Films "Sprengkommando Atlantik" u.a. mit Roger Moore.

Took this shot on the town moor in June of 2019 but really this shot could have been taken at any time in the last 100 years. If you ever visit Newcastle in June see if the hoppings, as we call the fair, are on. It's one of the best travelling fairs you will ever see and one of the biggest.
