Due to these pictures being surreal and ironic, I wanted to show, symbolistically, that this doll that the doll-like girl is holding is the burden of social expectation; and to defy the judgements society throws upon her.
Just my luck... after I found a way to get the humming bird out of the corner (pervious photo) she went up to the sky light. I can't beleive how fast they move their wings. The sky light was too tall for me to reach as well and impossible for her to leave on her own. I finally came up with a solution I got a picture of next.
Jess and I decided to explore the Eastern Shore of Virginia and stumbled across a marina where these traps were found.
Anyone else suffering from winter blues?
I feel so trapped by the cold physically and emotionally!!! Sigh..
I guess I just have to get over it and start enjoying the snow and the winter fashion :)
I used two textures in this picture.
One from Brenda Starr .
The other is a "water on glass" texture that is my own.

Not a species known for their likability among birds or banders, this juvenile Northern Shrike was extremely aggressive during the net removal and banding process.
Northern Shrike, a juvenile, was trapped, banded, and released from Sand Bluff Bird Observatory near Shirland, IL.
All banding, marking, and sampling is being conducted under a federally authorized Bird Banding Permit issued by the U.S. Geological Survey’s BBL.
Jasper Mooney developed this metallurgical marvel in the form of these highly specialized traps forged from a unique experimental alloy synthesizing silver, steel and cinnabarite. When used in conjunction with newly discovered pheromones, the hunting of lycanthropes is like a walk in the park.
