We're having a difficult time breaking through the persistent winter this year and even now another snowfall covers the ground. But I, for one, am a bit weary of snow photos and instead opted for this from a few days ago before the most recent deposit of a small tributary off the beaver pond. You'll note it was in the midst of a thaw at the time and now the ice is probably completely gone as it is from the lake. Now all we need is a little warmth and spring may whisper a tentative "hello."

The old waterworks in Bautzen at the moment, when the sunset is getting displaced by the blue hour. Those transitions between the phases of the day are all quite faszinating. These are the times for us photographers. Times full of magic and miracles. All of our lifes are full of moments like this, moments that are worth to be witnessed purposely. Here its time to pause and to decide what I want to let go, what new things I want to develop but at the same time, what of my past I want to keep.

Thanks for looking, much appreciated.

This was my first morning in Tuscany. Well, actually it's not morning yet. It's no longer night either, as you can easily tell from the orange glow in the sky. I'm somewhere in between here.

For me, this was the first very special experience on my tour for two reasons.

For one thing, the atmosphere at this point is simply stunning, the epitome of peace and quiet. Which brings us to the second reason. This is one of the most popular photo spots in all of Tuscany (at least judging from the photos I've seen from here) and I was completely alone here for well over an hour.

When I drove past here during the day, there were always a few cars parked here and later that morning several photographers came along. But this hour, this moment, belonged to me alone.

I am very grateful for that and the trip would have been worth it for that alone.

first year starling transitioning to adult plumage

Thank you so much for taking the time to come by and visit!

Ahhh, the fateful transition time, for me, is the time when autumn turns into winter. The beauty of winter and it's adjoining season is a terrible time during this transition. The grass turns brown, trees lose their leaves, and there's not enough snow to cover all the unsightly things in the surrounding landscape.

The tulip tree was about to shed all its autumn leaves. Winter is just around the corner.

Liriodendron tulipifera (Tulip tree, ‘Yurinoki’ in Japanese) is a tall deciduous tree in the magnolia family, native to eastern North America.

The Pinnacles is a photographers lolly shop. You can't normally get this close to the shore line as it often a heavy surf zone. i was trying to get the water edge on one axis and day to night on the other. Shot late in the blue zone and the last image I took.

Just like organic food needs to prove it is organic, but chemically modified doesn't, I am ready to prove that sunstar was not added by AI software. If I need to prove it that is :)) It's in the raw file! :)

Run right into the future...

A world of dreams is there.

Happy New Year!
