Was actually slightly grey
Darker around the edges
A definite tinge
A flirtatious curve at the bottom
As if daring you to imagine something
Transform it into a different existence
It’s texture was surprising
Smooth and soft like the very top
Of a snowy slope
But hung indoors
It reflected onto the black linoleum floor that was speckled
With unpredictable dashes of white
When you looked down
You imagined
You were floating in a
Modern art galaxy very far away
From everything and everyone
You know
When you looked up you realized
It wasn’t a blank canvas at all.

In May, I went to a doctor's appointment that was very difficult for me. Most of the time, I try to forget about my biology but my heart will often skip beats and I keep spending more money to get no answers, making me wonder if it's just in my head.
I have been living in Chicago for over 20 years but I had never come across The Arts Club of Chicago even though it is located very central downtown near a couple of doctor's offices. It was a dreary day and I spent some time wandering around and happened upon this gallery featuring the exhibit by Huguette Caland: Bribes de corps. It's amazing how art finds you when you least expect it. I found myself staring at canvases and writing poems to calm my nervous system.
This exhibit is ending very soon but I revisited this weekend. The bottom section is the actual canvas. The top portion is a multiple exposure of the canvas and a photograph of a woman passing by from the window opposite of the painting.

Hot weather this summer has transformed a juicy English landscape into somewhat surreal scorched land. This shot was taken on Little Solsbury Hill. The hill plateaued at 625 feet (191 m) overlooking village of Batheaston and the surrounding area with spectacular views of the city of Bath from the east. The hill is the site of an Iron Age hill fort, is maintained by the National Trust, and is within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This is the first time I visited the place scouting for a different location to shoot the August Supermoon on the following day. The flat top of the hill dominated by various species of dried thistle plants and dry grass making it looks like Mediterranean arid landscape thanks to incredibly dry and hot weather this during last few weeks. My local pier, which is no longer in use, has fallen into a state of disrepair. I still see it as a thing of beauty and interest. I captured this image at sunrise yesterday and although there was little colour, due to the impending rain clouds, the Long Exposure gave some lovely movement in the sky and smoothed the water nicely. Beauty from something which at first glance, was not so beautiful.
I reckon this shot is a bit too late for the movie - Transformer. I didn't even realise this shot is in my archives... that's what happen when one has too much crap in his harddrive :P Anyway, its still better late than never! Sorry its a post & run this morning as its way past midnight here & I'm going to transform myself into a sleeping log now. Should see you shortly soon! ciao!

One afternoon last week, the light was intense coming through trees over our parking lot. I thought I'd try a multiple exposure, having not done one in a long time. And then, the image above was enhanced with Topaz software.

Prisma is a photographic application that transforms normal photos into amazing images that attempt to replicate the human artistic touch. This phone-based app turns photographs into digital art in the style of drawings, watercolors, and paintings.
This two-acre plot of earth at the corner of El Camino Real ("The King's Highway") and Baldwin Street in San Mateo, California is perhaps the most venerable and historic site in the city. For over 150 years (since 1866) it has been the location of the Episcopal Church of St. Matthew, making it the oldest continually-used location in the city.
The devastating 1906 earthquake ruined the 1866 church and its fabulous bell tower. On May 15, 1910, the congregation buried a new cornerstone, containing all the artifacts from the original stone. Under the spiritual guidance of Reverend Neptune Blood William Gallaway, famed church architect Willis Polk engineered the new edifice. Considered one of the most beautiful houses of worship in California, it recalls the 11th century Stokes Poges Church in London, where Thomas Gray reportedly penned the poem "Elegy in a Country Churchyard."

I suppose it only fitting that life will take root in the structure itself. You see bricks are made from clay and concrete is made from lime, sand and gravel. So, the trees find a way to latch onto the core materials of the building. As they do, with a helping hand from rain and freezing temretures, the once rock hard building materials return to their soil beginnings, providing more material for nature to take root. Nothing goes to waste.
KLYTIE (Clytie) was an Okeanid-nymph loved by sun-god Helios. When he forsook her for the love of Leukothoe (Leucothea), she pined away and was transformed into the sun-gazing heliotrope flower.
Klytie was probably identified with Klymene (Clymene), the Okeanid mother of Phaethon by Helios. Both of their names mean "Famed One."
