I`m back from "vacation" . Sorry for the long wait. Anyways here`s Bumblebee from the 2007 Transformers movie. I really like how he came out although he`s a little chubby and bigger than I expected. (he`s a little bigger than Barricade) I try to focus more on accuracy, stability and transformability over scale. This is much more complex than the first bumblebee I made from Transformers prime.

He said it was a pretty poor costume. I'm too out of it to know who wears the blue winged helmet.

This Transformer space cruiser took inspiration from a local Malaysia delicacy called Ketupat, a rice dumpling. It's one of the popular food served during Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrated by Muslims all over the word.

Ketupat is often served together with Satay.can you see the resemblance there?

My newest project has been this set of 3 flatcars. These cars are meant to be run together as they are carrying a disassembled high voltage transformer. The main chunk of the transformer is on the middle heavy duty flatcar and the rest of the parts are on the 2 companion flatcars, with each crate representing a specific part of the transformer. Transformers of this scale were too big and heavy to move as one piece so they were often shipped like this and then assembled on site.

The following cars were used in the consist:

PRR 470200 -> This is a Pennsylvania RR F34 heavy duty flatcar, designed by Matt Csenge. I have always found this car cool and I am so excited to have one in my fleet. Matt absolutely nailed the look of this car!

CN 660239 -> This is a Canadian National “Group C” flatcar. This is a 46’ car and is notable for being the first flatcar that Canadian National designed and built themselves.

CN 651731 -> This is a Canadian national “A-3” flatcar. This is a 40’ car and would have been inherited from the Canadian northern railway during the formation of the Canadian National.

A year or so ago I came across this...

www.museumofhoaxes.com/hoax/weblog/permalink/transformers...

and having been a collector of the US comics I was intrigued and really wanted to find the image he's referencing. I gave it another shot this evening and while searching online, it occurred to me that the weekly Transformers releases in the UK seemed to be broken down from the monthly issues here. Realizing that, I went over to my dusty box of Transformers comics and started going through the later issues, seeing that is where this image would have come from.

No luck. Sadly, towards the early '90s we moved back to Charlotte and my later issues are somewhat spotted in their continuity.

This particular image came from #73. I felt that #73 was a little too early for the image that I was looking for, but was quite pleased to find this in the back. It has nothing to do with the story line of this comic. It was just a robot-fetish-pin-up or something.

I decided I needed to scan it in and share.

Unlike the guy in the linked article, I don't believe this was any sort of foreshadowing. Those are just big buildings and it's fun to imagine big robots fighting around bigger buildings.

Hmmm...

That guy on the left does look a lot like Dick Cheney though. Maybe he was on to something after all!

No, that guy looks to startled to be Cheney. Never mind,
