Typical 3-phase pole transformer installation in suburban Melbourne converting 22kV to 240V for household supply.

The original transformer from the early 1970s was replaced around 2011 at this location with a slightly more compact one made by Wilson Transformers at Glen Waverley.

Some Transformers I've gotten recently. Most of these are from the Transformers Prime show, which I've really been liking.

Bulkhead, Optimus, Arcee, Cliffjumper, and Starscream are "First Edition" Prime toys - and they are significantly better quality than the rest - better plastic, joints, transformation, and show accuracy are all just far superior to the others.

Grimlock is from the Fall of Cybertron line.

I didn't want to acquire Cybertron figures yet, however Primus is a must have in any transformers collection and I got it on sale. It's one of the most impressive transformers ever. Who can reject a transformers that convert into a planet? And even more, into the transformers planet, Cybertron!

Sludge is the first decent Classics version of the Transformers Dinobot from Generation 1. Produced by the third-party called Fansproject, he's roughly voyager class sized. Pictured in his dinosaur or Apatosaurus mode.

Officially called Columpio (LER-01), he came packaged with a little mini-figure called Drepan (not pictured).

Sludge's neck has tons of ball joints and can be rotated and posed multiple ways. His jaw can open too, and overall he's very expressive in his dinosaur mode. The instructions say this is his Tanystropheus mode.

I'm looking forward to the rest of the Dinobot crew from FP.

Sometime last year, I was chatting with a cyber-friend of mine, Dee, about some locations out in the Mojave desert that I was looking for. She told me about this highway outside of Edwards Air Force Base where they filmed the scene from Transformers where Optimus Prime pulls a 180 to meet up with Bumble Bee. I happen to be in the area today...really!...so I hunted down this piece of highway. More than three years later and the rubber is still as fresh as it was the day it was burned.

It appears that the film crew made a vain attempt to resurface the road with oil (see the satalite image) to cover up the skid marks, but the oil has worn/washed away leaving the beautiful marks for all to still enjoy!!

For you Transformers fans, I have uploaded a series of photos that I took while driving my Tahoe west down Optimus Prime Highway.

If you want to check it out, it is on Rosamond Blvd about 4.5 miles east of the 14 fwy.

The police station used in the 2007 movie "Transformers" (top) is the Highland Park Police Station on York Blvd. in Los Angeles. Built in 1925, it is no longer an active station but a really cool police museum.

The bf collects Transformers so I have a small assortment of them as well. These are just my TF Prime toys. The boxed one is a Japanese exclusive First Edition Vehicon.

Transformers Week

After taking all these shots I realized that had I forgotten to put that purple thingy on Devastator's chest - oh well!

Here are the three voyager class Seekers from Transformers Animated in their robot modes: Sunstorm, Starscream, and Skywarp.

Of all of his clones, I wish that they had made Thundercracker a voyager class toy (and not just an activator).

'Transformers', a 3-page article I wrote & photographed, in the November 2007 issue of Truckin' Life magazine, pages 64-66.

Wanted to try this with a white background... I'm still not sure how this came out...
