At the temple Shibamata Taishakuten.
Shibamata Taishakuten was founded in 1629 - but the buildings in the area are generally from the early 20th century. The inner shrine of the Taishakudo (Taishaku temple hall) was finished in 1915, and the hall of worship 1929. The temple is centred around the worship of Taishakuten (sometimes called just Taishaku - written 帝釈天 or 帝釈 respectively), the Japanese name for Sakra devanam Indra (that is, the god Indra, known from Hinduism). Shibamata is the area in which the temple is located.
The temple (and its nearby ferry) is designated as one of the '100 Soundscapes of Japan' (日本の音風景100選) and the temple is also '100 Landscapes of Japan (Heisei era)' (平成百景). And it is the home of a series of quite spectacular wood carvings, depicting scenes from the Lotus Sutra.

Chiffchaff - Phylloscopus collybita
The common chiffchaff (Phylloscopus collybita), or simply the chiffchaff, is a common and widespread leaf warbler which breeds in open woodlands throughout northern and temperate Europe and Asia.
It is a migratory passerine which winters in southern and western Europe, southern Asia and north Africa. Greenish-brown above and off-white below, it is named onomatopoeically for its simple chiff-chaff song. It has a number of subspecies, some of which are now treated as full species.
This warbler gets its name from its simple distinctive song, a repetitive cheerful chiff-chaff. This song is one of the first avian signs that spring has returned. Its call is a hweet, less disyllabic than the hooeet of the willow warbler or hu-it of the western Bonelli's warbler.
The common chiffchaff breeds across Europe and Asia east to eastern Siberia and north to about 70°N, with isolated populations in northwest Africa, northern and western Turkey and northwestern Iran. It is migratory, but it is one of the first passerine birds to return to its breeding areas in the spring and among the last to leave in late autumn. When breeding, it is a bird of open woodlands with some taller trees and ground cover for nesting purposes. These trees are typically at least 5 metres (16 ft) high, with undergrowth that is an open, poor to medium mix of grasses, bracken, nettles or similar plants. Its breeding habitat is quite specific, and even near relatives do not share it; for example, the willow warbler (P. trochilus) prefers younger trees, while the wood warbler (P. sibilatrix) prefers less undergrowth. In winter, the common chiffchaff uses a wider range of habitats including scrub, and is not so dependent on trees. It is often found near water, unlike the willow warbler which tolerates drier habitats. There is an increasing tendency to winter in western Europe well north of the traditional areas, especially in coastal southern England and the mild urban microclimate of London. These overwintering common chiffchaffs include some visitors of the eastern subspecies abietinus and tristis, so they are certainly not all birds which have bred locally, although some undoubtedly are.

Amanita muscaria, commonly known as the fly agaric (pronounced /ˈ or fly Amanita (pronounced , is a poisonous and psychoactive basidiomycete fungus, one of many in the genus Amanita. Native throughout the temperate and boreal regions of the Northern Hemisphere, Amanita muscaria has been unintentionally introduced to many countries in the Southern Hemisphere, generally as a symbiont with pine plantations, and is now a true cosmopolitan species. It associates with various deciduous and coniferous trees. The quintessential toadstool, it is a large white-gilled, white-spotted, usually deep red mushroom, one of the most recognizable and widely encountered in popular culture. Several subspecies, with differing cap colour have been recognised to date, including the brown regalis (considered a separate species), the yellow-orange flavivolata, guessowii, and formosa, and the pinkish persicina. Genetic studies published in 2006 and 2008 show several sharply delineated clades which may represent separate species.
Although generally considered poisonous, deaths are extremely rare, and it has been consumed as a food in parts of Europe, Asia, and North America after parboiling in water. Amanita muscaria is now primarily famed for its hallucinogenic properties, with its main psychoactive constituent being the compound muscimol. It was used as an intoxicant and entheogen by the peoples of Siberia and has a religious significance in these cultures. There has been much speculation on traditional use of this mushroom as an intoxicant in places other than Siberia; however, such traditions are far less well-documented.
Anyone who visits Oxford Island always comes away with an image of this wooden jetty, just traditional
I say traditional because my camellia flowers are the only plant I have on my tiny patio that isn't a succulent. Several years ago many of us here in San Diego stopped trying to grow plants that thrive where there are seasons and switched to low maintenance plants that are native to the desert.

The Chouwara Tannery is the largest and busiest of the four traditional tanneries still operating in the medina.
Sheep, goat, and cow skins are cured, stretched, scraped, and dyed in numerous honeycombed earthen pits .The skins are cured by a concoction that includes cow urine and pigeon guano and are then laid atop the rooftops to dry.
The final dying process involves the leather being mixed and soaked by hand in the vats before being trimmed for the medina's leatherworkers.
The vegetable dyes -- poppy (red), turmeric (yellow), mint (green), indigo (blue) -- have been replaced by chemicals that, along with the odd rinsing machine, are the only modern concessions to have infiltrated the process.
The Chouwara tanneries are best viewed in the morning, from the roof-terrace leatherware shops along Derb Chouwara, where a well-placed sprig of mint will help those who find the smell perhaps more confronting than the sight.
The natural world, moreover, is still undergoing a transformation for which the word “drama” is more appropriate than a term like “design” or “plan.” The theological significance of our focus on drama rather than design is that a drama can be the carrier of a meaning that presently lies hidden in the future…
… Theology, as I understand it, looks for the presence of God not in the breaks but in the blossoming of nature…
… Traditional theology’s lack of interest in the cosmic journey is forgivable, of course, since only after Einstein could it have learned that the entire universe is a continuous narrative and not just a platform from which to launch our spiritual adventures.
