This Marsh Harrier was hunting the reed bed in front of me as I stood behind the brambles at the view point moments later he turned toward me and flew over my head

E qui invece andiamo di ISO bassi, ma proprio bassi, nella luce stupenda di metà settembre all'isola d'Elba....

My wishes is for all to stay save from the horrendous virus and remember to look after vulnerable neighbours.

This flagged stone path leads from Rosedale up toward the Disused Ironstone Railway track which traverses the head of the dale and round the the famous Chimney Bank. The track is in the final stages of being upgraded for easy access to all groups of people.

Rosedale is in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, England

Hairy Woodpeckers are contrastingly black and white. The black wings are checkered with white; the head has two white stripes (and, in males, a flash of red toward the back of the head). A large white patch runs down the center of the black back.

It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters, in the end. Ursula K. LeGuin

A cool classic boat heads toward the 150 North Riverside Building at the Chicago River Confluence.

150 North Riverside has a slenderness ratio of 20:1 at the base then rises to 229m tall. This means that only 25% of the lot was used and the rest is a park and mini-amphitheater. Though I think this is small comfort for those living at the Randolph Place Condos that had their river views blocked.

On of the few YN2 GP38-2 left on the CSX roster at the time, CSXT 2756, and a slug set blast out of Cantonment toward Goulding Yard on the Mobile, AL - Pensacola, FL road freight M706. This was one of my countless attempts to try and photograph W.R. Taylor Brick in Pensacola getting serviced and of course making the detour to nab this train caused me to miss it at the time. Thankfully W.R. Taylor still receives service today and I've managed to catch them working it since, so I can contend myself now with having gotten this fantastic set of power instead which will likely not happen again. I'm unsure if 2756 still wears YN2 today, but all the power around Pensacola has turned to beautiful Gevos in the meantime... Cantonment, FL

A pair of INRD SD9043MAC's have completed loading at Bear Run and turn to exit the loop on their way toward the powerplant at Merom on the afternoon of Oct. 22, 2020. Their trip would not be long through, as the trailing motor would shut down before they reached the top of the hill at Dugger, and would not move to the powerplant until after dark.

The massive drag line in the background, after sitting dormant and rusting away for years, began being dismantled and scrapped this month.

This riverwalk in Canmore affords a fine view of the Rockies in late September.

Seeping out of the cracks between the black (charred) boards of Yhonnie Scarce's sculpture, and rising skywards within the structure are hundreds of ink-black glass murnong (yams).

Another photo of San Miguel de Allende from earlier this year. The streets were particularly deserted at this time as there was a parade going on down by the Jardin. I decided to leave the parade area and go walking through some of the back streets looking for doors and windows to photograph. While I was walking along I saw the young boy running as fast as he could toward me, and I just happened to capture him while he was airborne.

Thanks to everyone for stopping by to view, fave, and comment!!

A BNSF vehicle train rolling east Montana Rail Link, curves toward 365-foot Cabinet Tunnel in Cabinet Gorge east of Colby, Idaho, on the morning of October 2, 2021.

Rail tracks create a vanishing point in the direction of Selkirk Yard, a large rail yard in upstate New York.
