It's wonderful how the sun can light up the whole tree line in one minute and then let the shadows pass over only to come back and rim the tops of the trees in gold.
Just in the right place at the right time for this one. I was watching in another direction, waiting for the sun to do its magic. I looked to the right to move my position and noticed this oddity. A section of tree tops, and their reflections were being painted by the sun. So, I took the shot then moved on. Not a great photo, I did not have my tripod, but sometimes you just get lucky.
Sunset rays glinting on the decorative tops of the vertical bars of an old gate. Spotted in my local suburb.
View from High town In the pretty little market town of Bridgnorth Shropshire....
Thank you for the views and lovely comment's my friends...
It was just a very ordinary walk in the same Helsinki suburb surroundings, still with patches of ice here and there, but sun already was shining warmer and friendlier than a couple of weeks ago. And then behind a turn of the path opened a view over a little bay, and sunlight fell on the tops of last year dropworts in so marvelous angle that all the scene was flooded with light... I deliberately let the flare come into the photo, because it reveals the feeling from that moment like fairies would be dancing in the branches and chasing the winter away. :-)
These guys are easy to hear as they deliver their two-note call in a subdued tone from the tops of tree canopies. They seem to fly about languidly, but they can be hard to lay eyes on because of dense foliage.
I was able to photograph this bird three separate times, but all shots had limited light. In another, the bird was perched a bit too high.
I wish this shot were brighter, but it does show a sense of the dense tropical forest.

Fire damage is starting to fade in this section of the Smoky Mountains devastated a few years earlier when some individuals thought it would be fun to hike to the top and shoot off fireworks.

Isaiah 17:13 “But he will put a stop to them, and make them go in flight far away, driving them like the waste of the grain on the tops of the mountains before the wind, and like the circling dust before the storm.”

Shot taken from the top of Richmond Hill just above the thick fog that set in that afternoon covering the Thames valley not long after sunset.

The flowers of Queen Anne's Lace (Daucus carota), characteristically arranged in a flat-topped umbel or inflorescence, are viewed here from the TOP down. The resemblance to lace is unmistakable.
Happy Monochrome Bokeh Thursday ;o)
One from the archives, taken at Leith Hall gardens on a windy October day. I had no idea what it was I'd shot, and I've finally realised it is the remains of clematis flower heads! This year I bought more clematis plants, and some of the varieties produce these curling mop tops ... so at last I know!
Hope you had fun with Halloween - it was quiet here and too cold for many of the young ones to be out in the dark. So we had a welcome, restful evening after a manic start to the week.
