The awe-inspiring Fisher Towers rise from highly eroded layers of sandstone and mudstone as the Colorado River flows by in the distance, near Moab, Utah. Cottontail Tower is visible on the left, and Titan Tower sits at a commanding height at center.

The lower and middle portions of the Towers are made up of Permian Cutler formation mudstones (290 million years old), while the layer that sits on top is Moenkopi sandstone (245 million years old). The rocks range from red to almost maroon due to varying concentrations of iron oxide in the mineral matrix. The sandstone cap is more resistant to erosion than the mudstone underneath it, and this has allowed the Towers to rise as the surrounding landscape is born slowly away by wind, water, and time.

So much rain and the never ending tornado sirens going off this week while in Nashville, Tennessee.

It stopped raining long enough for me to jump out of my car and snap this shot of Nissan Stadium, home to the Tennessee Titans.

The Titan crane was a symbol for those of us who have known it.

It knew how to fulfill its function, adorned the landscape of everything that surrounded him and when the moment came it knew how to leave with dignity.

This reminder is absolutely necessary.

Titan loves climbing the tree in his enclosure. When he makes it to the top, he looks back at us and smiles.

The Grove of Titans, a new park development along the Howland Hill Rd. just down from the Stout Grove, is spectacular. A 1500' metallic-mesh walkway works off the Mill Creek Trail and takes you around the redwood grove, sparing the root systems of these titans from the daily stress of hikers. This conservation measure is extraordinary in both concept and form. The Screaming Titans depicts a 30' wide double-trunk tree, seen on the left. While I wish I'd shown that more clearly, I chose this angle for the scale provided by the two hikers. Don't miss a visit here if your travels take you up the northern section of the Redwood National and State Parks.

Drs`s 68009 "Titan" is seen at Chaloners whin working the 09.30 South bank/Tees dock to Daventry (4Z92) Tesco intermodal on a sunny 04/01/2023.

This working is 99.9% class 66 hauled so it was nice to see a solo cat on it and if memory serves me right its only the first time a class 68 has worked this train south ???.
