Freightliner's 66 571 heads through Winchester station and is about to pass under Upper High Street bridge with 4O54; 05.27 Leeds to Southampton Maritime.

Today, whilst sorting through some boxes which have been in storage for some while, I came across five tightly rolled exposed films, three of 127 size, one of 120 size and one of 116 size. Most of the images on the rolls are of personal family snaps, but there were a few that were worth a second look. This is one from one of the 127 rolls and was taken (probably) by my father on a Welsh-built Purma Camera.

Despite not being to this location for at least fifty years I instantly recognised where this photograph had been taken. My mother's sister lived in Cheltenham and it was a treat when visiting to be taken for a walk to the railway line. The location is the footbridge off Hollis Road which in turn is off Hatherley Road where my aunt and uncle lived. Other photos on the roll would seem to suggest a likely date is about 1954, but a year or two either way is possible.

The locomotive is one of the GWR 1400 Class 0-4-2T which was introduced in 1932. I've tried to enlarge the number but the identity is unclear, it's either 1431 or 1451, both of which were allocated to Gloucester during this period. It was a locomotive of this class that starred in the film "The Titfield Thunderbolt".

Designed by the french architect Jean Nouvel, the exterior walls of the institute has been inspired by arabic claustra walls. They are composed of large number of diaphragms, which can be individually closed to help regulate the inner temperature of the building.

I feel so lucky to have taken this photo. I was just walking through the park and I looked up and saw the sun peeking out at me!

"So you're still here? Still dizzy from another dodge,

close shave, reprieve?

One hole in the net and you slipped through?

I couldn't be more shocked or speechless.

Listen,

how your heart pounds inside me."

I am lucky to see Audley End House on my way to and from work.

Watermead, Aylesbury, Bucks.

The beautiful Shropshire landscape is visible through the leaded glass windows in the solar, located in the North Tower of Stokesay Castle. Also visible are some of the gravestones from the church located just across the road from the castle. The family would have spent much of its time in this well-lit room. Glass was very expensive when this was built, so it was a real luxury. This was really a manor house rather than a fortified castle.

The view through the mostly transparent central pole of an umbrella I have. It has some opaque strips in its interior that run the length of the pole; these helped to produce some patterns near the center of the image. The colors are supplied by a computer monitor; this seemed the easiest way to get emitted light of several colors in close proximity. A number of exposures were combined to improve dynamic range and reduce noise. That result was manipulated further with a local contrast filter that I think makes the colors stand out better.

So while you're outside looking in

Describing what you see

Remember what you're staring at is me

'Cause I'm looking at you through the glass

Don't know how much time has passed

All I know is that it feels like forever

But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home

Sitting all alone inside your head

The Two-Column Aerosol Project (TCAP) was conducted from June 2012 through June 2013, and included the deployment of both the first ARM Mobile Facility (AMF1) and ARM Aerial Facility (AAF) to Cape Cod and Hyannis, Massachusetts, respectively. The primary goal of TCAP was to investigate cloud-aerosol interactions.
