i wish i had thought to do this earlier, before the snow started melting. sigh. but hey. proof positive that timing is key. had i been on top of it, i might have (well, maybe) focused it better.
While watering my little plant today, I thought it was sick with mold, mildew, or a fungus! But checking online, I was relieved that it's ok. Those white particles are "trichomes".
"Trichomes are small hairs on the leaves of the the air plants which help them absorb water, airborne minerals, and helps them to regulate their temperature. Trichomes are important since air plants do not grow in soil and have traditional root systems. Trichomes can absorb moisture directly from the air, even without the plant having to get damped by rain, mist, or morning dew."

COVID numbers are continuing to rise around the world. So many people are in lockdown and not able to get out, many have been sick and have had loved ones die, and so many, including me, who haven't been able to hug their families since the beginning of this pandemic. And we have no idea when the end is in sight, or if things will ever get back to "normal."
When I saw this little vine wrapped around a post in a nearby garden, I thought of how much all of us need a hug right about now. So I'm sending out a virtual hug to all of you.

at that moment i was sure. That i belonged in my skin. That my organs were mine and my eyes were mine and my ears, which could only hear the silence of this night and my faint breathing, were mine, and I loved them and what they could do. There was so much water in so many places, rushing everywhere, up and down, the water on top moving so much faster than the water below it. Under the water was sand, then rocks, miles of rocks, then fire.
But i was getting tired. We needed to get out of the water before we mistook it for a bed. I was sure that was how people drowned; not with a fight, not with thrashing but with thoughts of rest.

Around 2007 I thought that a small camera for my pocket was enough ... Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3, Canon PowerShot SX200 IS and Canon PowerShot SX210 IS until I bought another EOS1000D.
And yes, the trees in Germany sometimes have a number. It may be due to the fact that everything that is not regulated by law is prohibited in Germany. So, in principle.
Another aspect is that only about 25% of the employees are still working in real life and the rest are managing something and making meetings ... ;)
