Yes indeed just after the shutter click those clouds opened up good and proper, and continued to do so for almost the whole way back home - a very wet 10k on foot. Yes - yes I know Mr Magoo drives a car in the cartoons but I’m not a cartoon and haven’t driven for 30 years, and how the heck does he find his car is what I want to know??? Some sort of metal detector might do it I suppose but a lot can go wrong with that scenario, and how does he know it is his car and not one belonging to some axe wielding whacko whose cheese has slid totally off his cracker? Mind you, I might not be a cartoon but life can be cartoon like at times…..my wife and I were dining out once when some outraged stranger accused me of trying to steal his pudding, kid you not, I accidentally put my hand in his pudding, right in there, up to the wrist almost and somehow I am stealing it - seriously!?! It wasn’t my fault, I had no idea it was there, it shouldn’t have been where it was it really shouldn’t, but stealing it - honestly, can you imagine?? Ooh ooh look, that gooey thing all covered in custard looks delicious, I think I’ll just grab me a handful and hope he doesn’t notice!! An accident and accused of thievery. What could I do - I lamely held up my white stick and pointed at it with a custard covered finger. The cheek of the fellow - I should have sued him for burns! So there you have it, there’s a reason why I don’t drive and have to get wet - and if I want a pudding I’ll buy my own……..
…..probably.

I'm not sure what this old machine was-some kind of crane?-but it got my attention at the Mojave Heritage Museum on old route 66 in Goffs,CA.For some reason, this got me thinking of the old 1965 British comedy.Of course they were concerned with flying machines, but close enough.
Have a magnificent Windmill Wednesday everyone!
Those "little" mountains look huge from below. It is interesting how the perspective changes from above.
telling me she wants in...
Well, as of the last Wednesday (20th), Daisy is safe and warm in my house!!
I have her in my sewing room for now and even the first night didn't destroy it or freak out!!! She had two accidents, which I figured would happen... what does she know from a litterbox!!! Now she knows what to do in it and she's eating and even walking around the room while I sit with her!!
Today I might introduce Purrcy to her... but I'm putting him in a small cage, just in case they fight... I don't want to get in the middle of it... but she is just so sweet... and I believe soon, she'll let me pick her up again...
Now I feel bad for Hissy... he must be missing his girlfriend....
Happy Caturday and I hope everyone enjoys the weekend!!
A long distance migratory bird species from Europe / Parts of Asia and some of them winter in South East Asia / Parts of Australia. They are migrants in our region and seen in good numbers around March / April and when they are making their journey to their destinations.
The past couple of years we are not seeing them much, but the last winter maybe around 20 of them were seen in a lake just 20 mins from my place. During last winter there were huge flocks of other waders birds still around and the place is perfect for photography with the light exactly behind the photographer in the mornings. Another a couple of weeks almost all those waders disappeared - now there are only Stilts and cormorants in that place.
Thanks in advance for your views, likes and feedback - much appreciated.

Love doesn’t always have to be a shout-from-the-rooftops kind of passion. Sometimes love is simple. Sometimes love is a holy feeling — a quiet moment...
And is those quiet moments in the midst of life that seem to give the rest an extra special meaning.
the only box they left for me. Sorry for the poor quality, as this was taken through the light rain on Wednesday morning. I was hoping Screechy would be back, but so far he hasn't been seen.
If anyone has watched "Trapped", the Icelandic TV series from 2015, this is the road to Siglufjordur, where the entire series was shot. The landscape is jaw-droppingly beautiful and the place is only reachable via sea or through a tunnel, the one of which I posted an image earlier today. So "trapped" is just about how you feel when arriving there in freezing temperatures, and bear in mind that this pano was shot in May, so not the real winter anymore!
a retake.

I have always found her beautiful eyes hypnotizing. Sometimes when I realize that she has never actually spoken a single word to me, I'm really surprised and can hardly believe it. We have so much shared experience and shared knowledge. Without a single word.
Amari has the most beautiful eyes and his eyelashes are out of this world.
I look at a lot of photos of lions and my pride seem to have the biggest, brightest lion eyes.
Obviously I'm a little biased but go ahead and prove me wrong lol

For those that are confused by my title, Don McCullin is a British photographer famed mostly for his war images. He was on the front line of many global conflicts, from Cyprus to Vietnam to Syria and many more besides. There are photos he took that I'm sure everyone will remember when they see them but perhaps do not know he was the author of.
The very first picture that McCullin ever sold was a shot of a gang of boys spread across the first floor of a bombed out building in north London in the late 50s. This image is nothing like his original image which frankly is one of my favourite images of all time for the way it so brilliantly tells the story of a time and a place. But there is something in my photo which immediately reminded me of McCullin's famous composition but in a VERY different way. Here's a link to McCullin's shot for those that may be interested:

And for anyone who truly admires photography it is worth looking up McCullin's work. It is often disturbing because of the subject matter he depicts but it is always exceptional. He is now in his 80s and lives in the quiet English county of Somerset. Instead of wars he now prefers to shoot the landscapes of his adopted county in the most beautiful way. Perhaps an antidote to the terrible things he's witnessed throughout his career.
