This is another image from the archives while waiting for our spring green-up on the Leelanau Peninsula.
Note: Thanks to my friend, Karen, for the term "green-up," which is used in Alaska for the period from early to mid May. Fairbanks, Alaska celebrates the end of their long winter with Green-Up Day. Sounds like a great idea! I will certainly feel like celebrating when it finally greens up here!
As we go through a very warm period here in Southern Ontario, I thought I'd go back and post an unposted spring image since there's so little winter wildlife around right now!
This of course is a common loon, a spring regular here in my part of the province and one of my favourite subjects to photograph.
