Towards Thieves Wood and Harlow Wood, Lindhurst, Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire.

This Arctic Tern has catched a fish and is now followed by some black headed gulls which try to steal her prey.

Wildlife could be a hard job...

One of the finest views in the Dales. Looking across Thieves Moss down into Crummackdale and across to Pendle

A cracking sunrise glowing through the trees at Thieves Wood in Nottinghamshire, England.

This Bald Eagle pair was keeping an eye on a family of otters in Klineline Pond. They weren't hunting otters. When the otters caught some nice big fish, the eagles tried to steal them!

today i had a trip to sycamore gap on the roman wall in the beautiful northumberland. sycamore gap was featured in the film robin hood and the prince of thieves starring kevin costner in my humble opinion alan rickman was the real star of the film. thank you for taking the time to look. hill of thieves cara dillon

Now I know why there never is enough money in my wallet ;)

The golden city ruins of Kadena were renowned for their loot and riches. Many thieves tried their luck, but only a handful escaped the clutches of the city's guardians.

Leaves of Red Paintbrush (Castilleja miniata) are illuminated by mid-day sun in the Indian Peaks Wilderness, Colorado. Although they convincingly look the part, the red parts of the plant are actually leaves, not petals, as is clear on the individual in focus on the right. The title stems from the fact that these plants are opportunistic root parasites. Isotope studies have revealed that they are happy to purloin sugars from their neighbors underground, though I have to say they do employ their stolen bounty to beautiful effect.

Some find it “a bit disgusting” or “creepy” and others (I’m one of them, by the way) find it absolutely fascinating.

A flock of rose chafers currently feasting on one of my apples. Of course not allowed. And this in a year where the harvest will be poor anyway.

But we don't want to be like that. After all, I can always go to the supermarket and buy new apples. The rose chafers can't do that. So guys, enjoy your meal.

Also Leute, Guten Appetit.

A footpath tracking through Thieves Wood, Nottinghamshire

I lost another string of prayer flags. They must have a colorful nest.

Did a spot of gardening on Monday to find my Pampas Grass looking a little sparse! Today i saw why!!!!!!!!! I put the theft down to nesting needs :-))

I've photographed this pathway on a number of occasions, I just like the light and textures in this part of my local woodland. www.ChrisDraperPhotography.com shared with pixbuf.com

This tunnel can be seen in Vittorio De Sica's Bicycle Thieves. The buildings along the left are visible.

The main character tries chasing the thief down the street & loses him in the tunnel.

I had a blast working with the talented local actress, Carol Sparer. This one reminds me of a modern/female version of Robin Hood.

Ladron Peak (9,176 ft), Bernardo, New Mexico.

The name of the peak means "thief", and "Sierra Ladrones" means "thieves' mountains." Navajo and Apache raiding parties, and later Hispanic and Anglo rustlers, used the mountains as hideouts, hence the name. Evidence of human occupation goes back over 10,000 years, and more recent prehistoric use occurred by the Mogollon and Anasazi cultures.

The impressive waterfall Þjófafoss, which means "Thieves' Falls". Why that name? They used to drown thieves there in the old days, binding their hands and feet and throwing them into the falls from the high cliff. Oh... vikings... !!

PS: Would it be funny if I make a note about all my pictures being copyrighted, after mentioning the history of Thieves' Falls? ... :) Maybe a little d-e-t-e-r-r-e-n-t ... :)

Oaks in Thieves Wood, Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire, UK. Surprisingly a full colour photograph!

First of all, I don't know why Playmobil Town's museum is in the garment district.

The thief on the left is a woman! How rad is that? If you lift the glass of the case, an alarm sounds! This entire series is fantastic, but the police don't excite me as much. Sorry, police.

We also got a mama and baby unicorn. Finnegan's is rad, because they sell bags of random Playmobil stuff, as well as full sets like this.

The low fog season has begun, and for a change Nick and I decided to shoot it all the way from Twin Peaks. I had my 600mm in tow, and this perspective had been on both of our bucket lists for a long time. The night was warm with a 90% full moon shining down, and between 50 and 75 people were up there enjoying the view and partying. It was midnight, and I was a little thrown off on how many people were up there. Nick and I set up our gear and started shooting. We were stoked with the shots we were getting, and it seemed like it was going to be a great night. Around 2 a.m. Nick was talking to me while I was looking through my camera. Nick's camera was 2 feet behind him, and some thief came up and took his camera. By the time we realized what had happened, the guy was getting in the getaway car, and sped down Twin Peaks Blvd.

It was a horrible experience! The police arrived within minutes of Nick calling, but the deed had been done.

A big warning to photographers coming to shoot San Francisco! There have been several photographers in the past year who have had their gear stolen, and even been mugged. We are a target with expensive equipment, so please be extra aware!!

This image is a 3 shot panorama taken with a 600mm lens. Each shot was a 2 minute exposure @ F/14 @ ISO 100

The Trews "Den of Thieves" partial lyrics

There are those who still believe

That to live your life is to deceive

But I find it hard to breathe in a den of thieves

We can't lose

With the life we choose

No master to serve take what you deserve have you lost your nerve
