He jumped up on the counter, removed a corn cob cooling there, and enjoyed his bounty on the kitchen floor.

Today is his "official" birthday -- six years since we got him to the vet and he was pronounced one year old. So he's seven now!

The cookie thief - scouting the scene

Northern cardinal male (Cardinalis cardinalis) is caught stealing the sunflower seeds that a red squirrel stole from our bird feeder and the stashed behind a post on our deck. The cardinal cleaned out the stash in about 15 minutes. Squirrel is not happy.

Lots of birds are flying about with beaks full of nesting material but this thief amused me.

There once was a tiger

called Thief

who had magnificently dull and thick

teeth.

While they were excellent fun

for suckling from his mom,

They couldn't thin

Stealing a Tern egg!!

A cute one but still a thief. That fan used to be mine.

Today was pretty difficult. I'm in a long distance relationship which I don't imagine is easy at the best of times but Skype is outlawed where he is and it costs an unbelievable amount of money to call so we must conduct our relationship through email. I snatched ten minutes today and we were in the middle of sharing a joke when the call dropped as I had run out of money. I feel so frustrated with the whole situation sometimes that I just want to tear at my hair and scream!!! Autumn draws in and I've no idea when I'm going to be able to see him again.

About a week ago I posted a photo in memorial of Rocky thinking he was deceased because I had not seen him in more than a year. He must have seen my post and felt bad for me because he showed up a few days later to raid one of my feeders. Here he is in all his thieving glory looking very healthy and well groomed. Welcome back Rocky.............glad your still around even though you will drive my seed budget up.

I had to take this with my phone, because my wife ran off with my camera.

A slightly better second shot of this juvenile Robin redbreast flying into the house to steal food from the little china bowl next to our telephone. I was better prepared for him this time having figured out that this had become a regular occurrence! Caught red handed!

If hunting with an arrow went wrong then let's just steal the dragon her eggs! I did use the same looks again since the outfit from Swagga is just to much loved by me. ^^...plus...i love dragons.. ;p

I really like this band's music a lot and, though I only had 6 minutes (according to my camera time stamp) to take photos of well, to be honest I only took photos of lead singer, Adrianne Lenker, I still took well over 900 of them, which may be a personal record. Anyway, there's a very small sliver of space where you aren't getting too much mic but aren't also just getting too much headstock. In a crowded photopit, I got there early to line up and staked that space out as best as possible. In the midst of those 6 minutes, it started raining again and I got a lot of flare shots that I also love. I also have some hair shots..but well, here, I really thing there's something else about the innocence of the music and also living through some stuff. Well, you can listen here:
