Something I have wanted to try for AGES. It was an idea I had a long time ago but I didn't have the knowledge or the equipment to do it. I wanted a bulb with a screw fitting instead of a bayonet fitting. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a clear one, just pearl ones.
Setup: The bulb was hanging by wires soldered to the contacts and plugged in to a dimmer switch to control the light from the element. The background was a piece of black card between the bulb and a softbox to light the rim of the bulb. The bayonet fitting was lit with a snooted Canon Speedlite 430EX taking care not to light the glass. Fired by cheapy ebay wireless triggers.
The title came from one of my favourite songs by The Smiths.
I'm wondering whether or not to clone out the reflections from the element. Also considering repeating this but also lighting the background. Maybe, maybe not, this is a tricky and pretty frustrating shot!

The posters wallpapering the stairwell of Afflecks Palace remain largely unchanged since the 80s. Like stepping back in time.
There was a portrait exhibition upstairs which was great but this iconic wall nailed it for me.

There is a light and it never goes out!
A big thank-you this holiday season goes out to Bradley (buradori) who sent me his old scanner for free, because he heard that I was using my digital camera to get my polaroids onto the computer. This was my first photo using my new scanner :) And my newly recreated Christmas dress, whose entire top and lining was shredded with age. I spent last week beading and making it wearable.

This picture is dedicated to my good friends Adam and Jake. This song will always remind me of hanging out with them back when we were in the Marines...
Definitely better in Lightbox.
This is a Tearoom I love to go.
Despite all the goodies and the Teas they serve, the decoration is awesome!
Now they redecorated and I really love their new looks!!!
Pink and Gold and all this cinema equipment, it creates a wonderful 20's mood.
