Back in the days before Covid I traveled to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and spent a long weekend at a resort that had water that was just this green, a bit more clear and about 97% more inviting. The drinks flowed, the sun baked us and I read book after book after book.

I miss traveling.

Finally after many weeks, too many to recall, we got a rain shower.

It didn't last long, but I was able to capture a bit of it in the raindrops on the flowers.

I was on the sister ship to this - Celebrity Equinox.

We had already docked at Kusadsai,Turkey early morning.

I just caught this as it sailed by to dock alongside.

Larger than a pochard, the male has an orange-brown head with a red beak and pale flanks. Females are brown with pale cheeks. A stunning bird to observe.

One of the most common and widespread sparrows in North America. Fairly large with a long, rounded tail. Overall coarsely patterned with gray and brown, usually with more reddish-brown wings and tail. Look especially for thick brown streaks on the underparts and a broad dark mustache stripe. Significant variation in plumage geographically: relatively pale and rusty in the southwestern U.S.; blacker streaking in California; overall dusky in the Pacific Northwest. Larger, longer-tailed and usually more rusty than Savannah Sparrow. Found in a variety of scrubby habitats both near and far from human development, especially edges of fields, often near water. Listen for husky "chimp" calls and melodic song with chips and trills. (eBird)

Always happy to see a Song Sparrow. This one is in fresh breeding plumage and looks great against the pale grey background of the Ottawa River.

Slightly bigger than a mallard, these long-necked and small-headed ducks fly with a curved back pointed wings and a tapering tail, making this the best way to distinguish them from other ducks in the UK. The pintail is a 'quarry' species, meaning that it can be legally shot in winter, but - unlike in parts of Europe - it does not appear that shooting is affecting their population status in the UK. The small breeding population and significant winter population make them an Amber List species.

A rather better shot than the previous one posted of this species. A raven of mountain country in eastern and southern Africa. From a slide.

I always think of cheese and bitterly cold winters when I think of Wisconsin, but the AG industry in Wisconsin is evident throughout the state.

Although this is the rose garden at Point Defiance Park, many times they will place some lilies at the center--rather as a showcase! I just love lilies--and these day lilies are brighter than sunshine! Hope they help to brighten your day! Enjoy! :)

Standing less than a centimetre tall, in the early morning light.

Contemplating the change of season with winter on the way. We were particularly intrigued with the short tail on the top sparrow and the down feathers on the bottom. "Yours is bigger than mine" springs to mind.

...than the next photo (and linked in the first comment), the male Anna's Hummingbird seems to have a dark neck and lack of color/colour.

With the little light we had, when he turned toward me the sudden magenta and rose-pink throat made me gasp.

For those who've not seen these flying jewels, I thought I would demonstrate. Thanks for looking.

I came across this super adorable and ultra girly 1 Hundred Cuter Than U Top & Shorts Outfit while making my selections to model for this month's Swank Events 7 Year Anniversary Celebration venue. It is such a sexy and laid-back piece.

I love the fun and mystical use of the colorful rainbow cloud print which has been growing in popularity with children and adults alike. I mixed the lime color top with the fuchsia color shorts to complement both the colors on the print as well as my heart & vine leg tattoo.

This year, summer has been a great time for all of the outdoor gatherings here in SL. The concerts, pool and beach parties have been so much fun and fantastic places to unwind. These gatherings should naturally become a little cozier, thanks to Fall now coming upon us.

As such, I started hunting down accessories pieces as inspiration to go with this fabulous 1 Hundred Outfit. That said, as a stylish way to transition from my summer look, I paired this outfit with an off-the-shoulder cardigan sweater and a chic pair of sunglasses.

You will find this darling 1 Hundred Cuter Than U Top & Short Outfit at Swank Events for September with the link below:

Less than 10 minutes up the path from the more well known Russell Falls in Tasmania is Horseshoe Falls, which is a much smaller waterfall with two drops and the ability to get very close to the action.

I visited on a near freezing morning in late October and was amazed by the colour and composition of both the waterfall and the rainforest itself.

I see Western Kingbirds far less often than their close relatives, the Eastern species, so I was happy to find a pair nesting in my neighbourhood this spring. One morning in late June I spent some time watching them catch flies on my neighbour's property, and one obliged me by resting for a few minutes on a low branch, allowing me to shoot a dozen or more frames.

This is the first of three shots of neighbourhood birds. The next two will be from my backyard. I am already feeling nostalgic for them, as the southbound migration has begun: we are losing species every week. No more nighthawks. Blackbirds are flocking. Shorebirds are on the move. Next month the small passerines will be passing through - warbler, sparrows, vireos. Stay tuned...
