What is about apple trees full of fruit that remind one of the story of Adam tempting Eve with an apple? Saw this tree loaded with ripe apples on a hike in Umtanum Canyon a couple months ago. The apple tree was a vestige of long gone settlers in the area.

It was still very warm and the sun came out while I was there. The thought of standing in the falls was vey tempting.

Go on, you know you want too

When we got to the park the other day, I immediately noticed a Yellow-rumped Warbler flycatching in front of the kiosk sign at the entrance. When I got closer, I realized there were recently hatched winged termites stuck inside the glass enclosure. It was a kick to watch this warbler seeing them and not being able to get to them. It eventually found a spot where they were coming out and then having a feast!

I was able to get a couple of closer shots of this very common and beautiful warbler perched waiting to dive into the feast again.

These were opening up slowly, whispering of sadness, the dark stamens down, some petals glistening with tears...
