The Temple of Asclepius built at the little lake there in the park of Villa Borghese, Rome. The temple building itself is late 18th century (built 1785-1792), but it was built as a home for some ancient sculptures. The statue of Asclepius himself is thought to have come from the Mausoleum of Augustus, and the other, smaller pieces are of Hellenistic date and style.

As anyone who has been to Rome will know, you will run into ancient remains absolutely everywhere in the old city centre. And not just the famous buildings still standing, but remains incorporated in later structures. This temple to the emperor Hadrian is an example of this.
The temple dedicated to the deified emperor was built by his successor Antoninus Pius around 145 A.D. But all that remains of it now is one side of the cella and the 11 columns flanking it (and the cella wall seems to have been stripped bare of its more fancy stone - the walls you can see are made of tufa, but it was likely clad with marble, which were later removed and repurposed - a common fate to ancient buildings in Rome). The architrave you can see on top is much less worn - for the simple reason that it is a much later reconstruction.
The temple remains were in the late 17th century incorporated into the Dogana di Terra, a papal palace, and quite a lot of Baroque elements were added. These were removed in the late 19th century. Today the building houses the Chamber of commerce.

This Jain temple was 2 hours away from where I was staying – but was a must-see for me.
This temple is 300+ years old sitting in the middle of a lake. I arrived long before sunrise and was able to watch the opening of the temple. The temple priest crosses the lake in the boat and then rang bells to announce to all the temple is open.
The funny part of the story is after I completed my shooting I went to find the car/driver I had hired. They were gone! I waited 15 minutes and nothing. My cell phone had no coverage, so I hitchhiked to for a ride until I had coverage. Called the booking agent and they got a hold of the driver. He went for tea and then fell asleep. After some drama, we were reunited, and my return trip was uneventful.

The temple at Neasden, North West London, UK. No cameras inside at all so I took this over an eight foot gate in live view with the screen turned to face down. Shame about the scaffolding.

Poseidonia, now Paestum located in Southern Italy. Both in the Doric order, It name still disputed to this day by scholars to be dedicated to Hera or Poseidon (Greek) / Neptune (Roman). Still a incredible sight to see.
