I and my 7yo son really appreciate the geometries of this wooden japanese tangram. I captured it with my 50mm SMC Macro Takumar (one of my favourite lenses) by using 0.5X magnification. I hope that you will like the result.

The Cité student/starters tenement building (by Tangram architects, 2010) and the InHolland University for higher professional education (by Erik van Egeraat associated architects,1997).
The urban context is The Kop van Zuid , an urban restructuring project in progress which has converted major parts of the old harbour area on the South bank of the Maas (with its defunct ports, warehouses and railway heads) into an integrated living, recreative and commercial service quarter.
Shot with the Lumix LX7 (in 3>1 HDR mode) with the tiltable LVF2 electronic viewfinder mounted.
This is number 300 of the Urban Frontiers album.
Plus de 800 ans d'histoire pour ce bâtiment dont les origines remontent en 1188 avec la construction d'un hôpital pour le soin des personnes malades et des enfants abandonnés.
La rénovation extérieure été réalisée par les architectes Anthony Béchu et l’agence Tangram, son architecture intérieure a été confiée à Jean-Philippe Nuel.
Les travaux se sont déroulés entre 2010 et 2013 et l'ouverture officielle date de 2013.
This is the inner courtyard of a hotel in Hamburg. It was designed by the internationally awarded architect Hadi Teherani.
His projects target atmospheric charisma, emotional urgency and an ecologically sound sustainability that is already laid out in the design.
Framing this shot reminded me of the 4000 year old Chinese game „Tangram“.

Shot on Rotterdam's Kop van Zuid - a large former harbour urban restructuring area. In the BG is an office building of the inner revenue service and on the right is the Cité student/starters tenement building (by Tangram architecten, 2010) currently undergoing partial renovation of its façade.
The fence in the FG belongs to the RET – it delineates the part of the subway line where the elevated part of the tracks dives into the underground part of the network to access station Wilhelminepier and cross under the river Maas right after that.

In the northern facade of the InHolland University for higher professional education (by Erik van Egeraat associated architects.,1997), the Cité student/starters tenement building (by Tangram architects, 2010) and a small part of the Internal revenue service building can be discerned The internal structure of the In Holland building can be seen here too.
All the buildings are of course elements of the 'Kop van Zuid' urban restructuring project in progress which has converted major parts of the old harbour area on the South bank of the Maas (with its defunct ports, warehouses and railway heads) into an integrated living, recreative and commercial service quarter. It’s comparable with the Docklands in London and the waterfront re-developments in Barcelona and New York.

On the left of 100 Hoog (Tangram Architects) is the northern façade of Muse, another residential high-rise of the Wijnhaveneiland (2019, Barcode Architects). The balconies are placed in an offset with the floors above and below, allowing for a double height and daylight entry in the apartments.
The backstory about the recent rise of the residential high-rises in the city centre of Rotterdam is with the previous post.
This is number 705 of Rotterdam architecture and 101 of Façades.
Having aborted our initial plans for sunset due to flooded roads, David suggested we hit up a Painted Desert spot he knew dubbed as “Breezyland”. As always, nothing is exactly by the side of the road. During our hike to the Painted Desert hills David, Aaron, and I came across a wash with significant patches of dried and cracked mud. The area had been hammered by thunderstorms the fast few days causing some washes to flood and some washes even continued to flow. Coupled with the scorching sun all day, the wet mud dried rapidly forming cracks and thin sheets curling up as they dried.
This particular cracked mud patch was one of the most spectacular I have seen. It was fresh, clean and multilayered with curled patches on top and deep cracked earth below.
