„Hans Christian Hansen, der mit dem Universitätsgebäude bereits Maßstäbe für den Athener Klassizismus gesetzt hatte, sollte auch den Bau der Nationalbibliothek übernehmen. Durch seinen Tod 1883 hat dann aber sein zehn Jahre jüngerer Bruder Theophil, der bereits die Akademie errichtet hatte, den Auftrag für den Neubau der Nationalbibliothek erhalten.
Sein Entwurf fügte sich harmonisch den bereits bestehenden Gebäuden der Akademie und Universität an und rundet das Bild der „Athener Trilogie“ an der Universitätsstraße ab. Monitor Lizard, she is about 5 1/2 ft long really quite huge, but almost tamed, I call her Elizabeth or Liza, she loves eating earth worms, and occasionally if feel threatened climb on coconut palm or jump in water in the back waters...
My theme for 2016 is: 52 months in a year...beginning with June of 2006.
I took this photo in June of 2008.
She believed it was possible to tame the pigeons.

An experiment in long exposure work just off the coast in Maine. It’s hard to believe as many times as I’ve been to the ocean that I haven’t tried my hand at this. I’m not sure if it looks better in black and white or not but on this version I like how the rugged cliff pops on the page.

Downy Woodpecker (female).
A sparrow-sized woodpecker at 6 inches in length. Black and white with the males only having a small red patch on the nape of the head. Similar to Hairy Woodpeckers but tamer and smaller and with a short stubby bill.
Its habitat includes woodlands, parks and gardens.
Except for the U.S. southwest they range throughout Canada and the United States.
