Last November, I visited the National University of Mexico campus in Mexico City, with my father and my kids. My parents studied in the Philosophy and Languages School and I studied in the School of Medicine. I entered there at the end of 1991, 30 years ago. Such a long time ago.
This is the classroom building, with its characteristics ramps.

i've set up the canes in two pots for the sweetpeas to clamber up. grumps is head down, more interested in eating.

i transplanted five sweetpeas into a smaller pot but it wasn't straightforward. decided to leave the rest of the sweetpeas in their larger pots before i completely messed up and lost all of them. update the five in a smaller pot have survived
both the larger sweetpea pots have been moved off the patio. they are now on either side of the arch as i step into the garden. one pot has two canes tied to the trellis, another pot is positioned on the other side of the arch tied to the drainpipe and a screw on the wall. the smaller pot, not in this photo, is tied to two screws on the back wall of the bathroom extension. all a bit rough and ready but i'll keep an eye. i hope they survive

It's so useful
surround my life with excuses
for what I choose to lose
and my name
doesn't look the same to me now
no no not me now
and inside
don't you know I feel so bad?
when I tried to turn away
to feel new again

Preston Cemetery, North Shields. Much of the text has eroded away but you can make out "Jonathan Marn(?) of North Shields formerly harponeer, Greenland Fishery, aged 61 years died Feb 24th" on it. Unfortunately the rest of the date has eroded away. I never knew Tyneside had had a whaling industry until I spotted this gravestone. There's a good history of Tyneside whaling here

During my last visit to London I tried to get a freight traon on photo near Shepherd’s Bush, just besides the enormous Westfield shopping mall. However due to some bad luck I didn’t get a decent picture at that time. Right away when I was there I booked another trip and at the end of august I left for London once again. On the 2nd of september I finally got a chance in the afternoon to go there. During most of my trip it was quite cloudy. However when the 6O85 from Thorney Mill towards Grain approached I had less than a minute of sunshine. One of the few photo’s with direct sunlight those few days was made right then and there. Exactly the opposite of the previous trip.

Been offline for a while thanks to BT making a pig's ear of taking over my line from TalkTalk. They took over my phone line but they forgot the broadband part of the order. Like the phone is more important than being online these days. What is this, 1973? Anyway, back in the virtual word now. I spent the evening watching the sun go down over Canary Wharf in the company of a lovely young woman called Aydan who reliably informed me that her name means "from the moon" in Turkish. She had the best vantage point overlooking Canary Wharf sitting on top of a concrete bulwark and she kindly agreed to share the space so I could take some shots of the city. So me and moon girl chatted while I got some shots of the city. A nice way to end the day.

This is an image of a sea gull. I took this at New Pass bait shop in Sarasota. It was letting its displeasure be known. I have no idea why it was so unhappy but it would not shut up. The birds are so excitable and uneasy. They just start squalking at each other for nothing. Does this sound like anyone that you know?
I hope ya'll like it!
