.... a visit to Calke Abbey and a tour round the house to see and listen to those that are preserving the House as it is, not trying to get is shinny and new looking.....
Perfect way to do it.
Fifth page. Done with my stamp collection and tiny star confetti. The girl is taken from a Lula magazine, i am pretty sure...
The stars are a nightmare, they get everywhere. =P
For an art assignment, the theme was 'The Street'. I chose to do an altered book, relating loosely back to abandoned things. It is all very influenced by yyellowbird's photography, Frankie magazines and various poems that I have found inspiring. [[Work in progress!]]
In peace nothing better to become a man than tranquility and humility, but if you feel the breath of war then imitate the tiger, harden your muscles, excite your blood, hide your loyalty under cold anger and finally give your gaze the horrible splendor.
(William Shakespeare)
inner talk, a little picture bought in Italy hanging on my wall (within a little wooden frame and behind glass.. only couldn 't get the frame straight so I focused on the painting itself)

A dull start to the day does nothing to dampen the fine sight of the Midland Pullman heading west at Dawlish Warren with the 5.53am Shrewsbury - Penzance (1Z43) 'Mazey Day Pullman'. HST power car 43055 heads the train with 43049 bringing up the rear.
10am thru' 11am proved a good hour for rail enthusiasts looking for something a little different down here - during that period, as well as the Mazey Day Pullman, 66019 worked the returning empty china clay tanks, D1015 ‘Western Champion’ passed through on a special from Dorridge (also heading to Penzance), and Derby RTC unit 37501 passed through light-engine. Plenty to occupy even the most discerning rail-snapper then.
For this one I opted for the going-way shot to incorporate the Langstone Rock backdrop. It looks like a few photographers were positioned on its slopes too, and I hope the snapper in the foreground got the images (or video) he was after. The talking heads perhaps have a mild interest in the colourful spectacle unfolding - but then again it’s only a HST masquerading as the Midland Pullman, and there's been no shortage of the former in these parts over the last 50 years.
Image processed to allow the train colours to 'pop' a little. Goes to full-screen quite well. Comments off for this one, thanks.
