Trusting someone is not a mistake. If someone betrays your trust then that is their mistake. If you fear to trust again... then that is your mistake. All of us are broken in some way but I believe the universe lends us all we need by filling our lives with the people that can give us the pieces to make ourselves whole. We just have to let it in.
When I glaze upon this surreal image I feel a yearning in my heart. A place where one would love to come home to. A simpler life surrounded by nature slowly unfolding her magic around you. You can just imagine walking down the gravel road smelling deeply the green grass and that special smell that only a freshly cut field can give off.
Welcome home.

TAKE ME HOME – JESS GLYNNE
MAKE THE MOST OF WINTER'S WAYS
Within my inner sanctum I grow stronger
and wonder what the weather's like outside
the fiery storms; the rumbling of distant thunder
I wonder if it even now subsides
my tears no longer fall like rain from Heaven
the salt dries on my cheeks as with the wind
I venture out my toe to test the water
and let the temperature so pleasurable outside in
for some it may seem cold and Winter's answer
makes retreat a necessary part of this season's days
but for me who missed the Spring and then the Summer
I need to make the most of Winter's ways
so I took myself to look at my sweet ocean
that to some may seem so bleak and perhaps grey
but for me it holds such beauty beyond all reason
as I breathe in all the goodness of this bay
a seagull, just like me; he tests the water
to see if it will feel good 'neath his feet
like the pathway that I choose from this day onwards
to rise above it all and not concede defeat
I smile at him, but he is quite oblivious
a world apart and yet our worlds collide
his world is big enough to reach me and include me
and I'm content to share; be by his side
with each of us it is the same, my thoughts run through me
if we are strong to stand alone, but then
how much stronger we are when we can stand together
overlapping arm in arm we know, we ken
in quiet times it's nice to have some lone time
and to know that we are not alone is good
to have a friend who always makes us welcome
and not a stranger in our neighbourhood
I always think about a passing stranger
may one day turn to me and be my friend
so I try to help and be kind to every person
I win some and I lose some but in the very end
success is built upon the risk of trying
to make ourselves go to that extra mile
and peace begins with one thing, I'm sure of
yes, peace begins with just a single smile : 0)

Just back from Milano where I have had a lovely time with friends :-)
Busy time now, bad cold, women flu (!!!) - I should be already in bed!
I hope you are all ok - and I wish you a great (not busy, cold & flu free) week end!
(btw - quite better on black :-)
Sunrises, Sunsets, ocean views and Yosemite images are amongst my favorites but mountain roads that take me home.......make me SING! Sierra foothills of California

"Take Me Home"
Wrapped up, so consumed by all this hurt
If you ask me, don't know where to start
Anger, love, confusion
Roads that go nowhere
I know that somewhere better
'Cause you always take me there
Came to you with a broken faith
Gave me more than a hand to hold
Caught before I hit the ground
Tell me I'm safe, you've got me now
Would you take the wheel
If I lose control?
If I'm lying here
Will you take me home?
Could you take care of a broken soul?
Will you hold me now?
Oh, will you take me home?
Oh, will you take me home?
Oh, will you take me home?
Oh, will you take me home?
Oh, will you take me home?
Hold the gun to my head, count 1, 2, 3
If it helps me walk away then it's what I need
Every minute gets easier
The more you talk to me
You rationalize my darkest thoughts
Yeah, you set them free
Came to you with a broken faith
Gave me more than a hand to hold
Caught before I hit the ground
Tell me I'm safe, you've got me now
Would you take the wheel
If I lose control?
If I'm lying here
Will you take me home?
Could you take care of a broken soul?
Oh, will you hold me now?
Oh, will you take me home?
Oh, will you take me home?
Oh, will you take me home?
Oh, will you take me home?
You say space will make it better
And time will make it heal
I won't be lost forever
And soon I wouldn't feel
Like I'm haunted, oh, falling
You say space will make it better
And time will make it heal
I won't be lost forever
And soon I wouldn't feel
Like I'm haunted, oh, falling
You say space will make it better
And time will make it heal
I won't be lost forever
And soon I wouldn't feel
Like I'm haunted, oh, falling
Would you take the wheel
If I lose control?
If I'm lying here
Will you take me home?
Could you take care of a broken soul?
Oh, will you hold me now?
Oh, will you take me home?
Oh, will you take me home?
Oh, will you take me home?
Oh, will you take me home?
Oh, will you take me home, home?
Oh, will you take me home?
Oh, will you take me home?

Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it.
Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable.

Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.

I think we have all had that tug at our heart strings when we're traveling the highway of life and we see an image that just stops us. This was one of those moments for me. It reminded me of a simpler time I wish I could escape back to.
This is for all the people who couldn't stop.
Taken Mar. 7, 2015- 1 mile north of the town of Tomales, Calif along Hwy 1.
I did it once and they wondered
Yet I need to go, once more around
Up breathtakingly
Across rigidly
Down easily - and foolishly
I endeavoured again
To climb the wall in vain
And capture back my chain
Of lillies and remains
Of lillies and remains
Of lillies and remains
-Bauhaus
The passage through to where my heart is alive in the city, my love of
all loves, breathes its air. And with each moment that passes, I fall in
love over and over again.
... the need for each other, anytime, anywhere.
shall we carry on, bear?

Perfect symmetry on this abandoned railway track on a bridge over a foggy swamp. The light was actually pretty good as well. The bridge is about 1km long in total and I was halfway through it. The sky became dark enough for some milky way work just after midnight making this the shortest night of the trip.
Aligning the camera and tripod in complete darkness was not that easy (actually took a few test shots) but the result seems to be worth it. Panorama made of 6 photos in landscape orientation with the Irix 15/2.4 firefly.
I've been able to do so much travelling over the last couple of years, that I'm now at that point in my life where I feel the need to settle slightly...this might not last as I love change...but I am enjoying leading a slightly slower pace of life and am enoying making a home for myself.
i visited blazingstar today for a puppy fix ... i thought a puppy fix was supposed to curb my want for a pup. um, i want a pup even more!

Mexico mission trip - '07
Our work team was walking down the road, and I decided to be smart and walk on the sidewalk - I was the only one. I walked by this little dog who was tied up outside of a gate, and at first he cowered back against the gate... I said hello and that I was sorry for scaring him, and as I started to walk by, he lunged to the end of his rope and tried his very hardest to follow me.
It broke my heart.

Attention to old electricity cabins and forgotten industrial heritage.
An old woman is standing in a giant phone booth making phone calls. By mobile phone.
There's a canary fluttering around in the phone booth.
On top is where it used to say 'TELEPHONE', 'TAKEMEHOME'.
That's not fog. Blowing snow across those flat country roads near my home is a recipe for "interesting" driving conditions.
