As many of you are aware I hate Sundays.
There is no denying this I have been persecuted by a Church not far from where I live.
In so many ways I was made to feel like I was not part of a community. I was not accepted.
Of course I was never told this with those exact words.
I have taken comfort in a lot of what I have learned from the Bible.
I seen Matt say today about accountability. I love that Matt.
Because I find comfort in knowing that that account that a PERFECT person named Jesus Christ paid for was paid in full.
Dying on the cross
Jesus said the word.. "Tetelestai"
It means PAID IN FULL. It is an old accounting term!
So I know no matter how much I am made to feel alone. No matter how much I am stolen from. Talked about. I will be ok in the end.
As he also said to the sinner dying next to him
"Today you will be in Paradise"
But it is extremely difficult to experience.
Looking at it from the other angle.
Does it feel ok as long as everyone else is ok to do these things? As long as everyone else is going along well and happy who cares if there is that 1 person alone despised rejected broken struggling.
SUFFERING!
You can pretend all day long that you have done no wrong here.
At the end of it all on that amazing day when Jesus returns I find a lot of comfort in knowing that Judgement starts in his house and you know about the ones that get it harsher than others.
Stevie and Co.. Why be outside my house in the street gathered like that? Come on its Sunday go back to your entitlements! You should already know this is not a temporary issue!. I will keep going until the whole world hears. I did check the letter box thinking maybe someone paid the bill for my intellectual property that was stolen and used in some strange way to upset me but of course not!

I wanted to get a clean stack all I needed is for her to sit still for long enough. I am grateful that she did. I am well pleased with this image of her
The lens was set to the 2:1 setting which means this is a 4:1 with a 2x crop factor applied makes it pretty much an 8x greater than life size.
I always apply a 5:4 ratio crop in post and start that in Helicon.
I am currently printing on my 3d printer an adapter I for the Olympus MCON-P02 Macro converter that has a little hood on it. I am looking forward to seeing how that goes once I have all of the bits printed. Designing is much fun and fixing 3d printers I think sometimes can be a good test for ones patience.

Its been a rough few years, The bad stuff seems to have no end. But I am still here.
The internet can be amazing and also a tool to tear down others. This has been done to me a fair bit on youtube by a church in a smart way (They think)
Also by others in the Photography industry.
I am at a point now that I no longer care. I have been bullied. All my life people have been able to do wrong by me and somehow come out the other side with me looking bad.
Anyway...

When I first started I used to dream of making Photos like this.
I would stalk the pages of Thomas Shahan and the likes admiring what they did. I put a lot into trying to improve and learn to be able to make images like them.
It took me a really long time to learn this craft. I wont be torn down by a fool and or the opinions of the sheep that follow them. I know my 2024 Photographically is going to a huge year.
Now if you will excuse me my fire is almost out I need to chuck a few more friends on it.
Beats a Flat battery I suppose.

I was up before the sun this morning and decided on a macro walk around the neighborhood.
Found this Bee (I think) roosting on a stick around 5 feet high on a gum tree.
I was able to get a hand held focus bracket of it. I do have many images and I could get a much cleaner/nicer stack but at present I am just not happy enough to do so. I am enjoying the power of the Godox V1 and glad I made that purchase. Now I have 2 macro rigs with CJ diffusers.

Here it is again the little bundle of cuteness on a flower covered in pollen. I am sure it will be most annoyed with me now and soon sitting back on a blade of grass cleaning it all off!
I am well pleased with my diffuser creation and the fact that it has 2 diffusion panels. Not just one on the front.
This is a 4 image hand held focus stack. The idea of F8 was to try maximize DOF as even though not a fast mover still does not hardly pause for long this lens they say is at its sharpest at F5.6.
I picked the flower walking past a local church as I felt the colors where suited to this little one.

Some cool markings on this wolfie from tonight.
A new flash to play around with. The change to sequential low from sequential high is not a deal breaker. Stacking is still fun.
I do have an uncanny way of putting both this flash and the V1 into Multi mode with my forehead if I forget to lock it.
The plan is to do some serious usage and then do an honest comparison between the 2 godox units.
1/250 --- F8 --- ISO200 Flash was at 1/128
I prefer the modelling light too it is cooler

I picked up a new addition to my slow growing macro kit this week.
A 2x tele converter. I was using tele converters a long time ago for automated focus stacking and had watched things like the 90mm OM systems lens be launched and the fact it worked with a tele converter was exciting for me and many others.
I took a long time to catch the bus but better late than never.
I am quite impressed with sharpness using the MC-20 with the 90mm and what is achievable hand held blows me away.
I look forward to getting more practice in using this kit.

I decided to go check the burrow of that female Wolf spider that I have made some amazing images of lately. I was 30 feet from her dwelling place when I see 2 sets of eyes. I made my way closer and one took off and this male remained.
I am 80% certain this is a Banded Union Jack wolf spider Tasmanicosa ramosa ..
And I am pretty sure I came upon them having a bit of a get together. It was just starting to rain which was a bit of a downer as I lost sight of this one and looking around all I could see was rain drops glistening in the dark. BUT I am looking forward to seeing her with babies down the track!! And they will be amazing babies I mean look at him!!...

A fair old change from insects hey and a pleasant one at that

I noticed in Adobe LR while picking images to export into Helicon Focus to be stacked that I have some inconstant exposures. I am treating the V860iii the same way I have treated my V1 and I have never seen this in the V1. This is while using at 1/128 but I had just done several deepish stacks of this guy.
Why would you not?
I should have let the flash rest a little as it may have been getting a bit warm. Will keep an eye on this as I continue to test it in the field.
I noticed right away that the V860iii leans a bit toward the yellow side so I am running a Kelvin setting and all is good.

As I lay down in wet grass and leaf litter to make this image I start to realize that this scene speaks to me. It speaks in a way I would not have understood before. A little over 1 year ago I invited Jesus into my life. I gave him my heart and he made me a new one. Because of what he did on that cross for us I was able to take off the old me and be made new. The Cicada has taken off the old Cicada and is new. But it is still sitting there , it has everything it needs to complete its life as the new creation it has become and in just a while it will be doing that. This reminds me of Repentance. Change takes time. Its a slow fade and takes persistence but if we keep trying Jesus is there for us to help us and guide us. The biggest battle of my life has been the last few years.
I am proud of the man I am now.
In James 4:7 it says , Resist the devil and he will flee from you. I like the very next bit. Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. THAT is exactly what has happened for me. He has been all I have had for a long time. For my non believer friends I don't mean to be pushing anything on you. Please understand that.

I have admittedly drooled over others getting these kinds of shots.
I was not sure if any of the images I seen of this on the back of the camera fit in the frame but luckily in this fraction of a second the ends of the wings where folded and I was able to extend the canvas a little to gain a pleasing composition.
I have other cool shots but I like this one the most. I can tick it off my to do list.

I seem to have a good supply of both on my Butterfly Bush , Which smells absolutely incredible by the way and out of all of my plants has the most activity on it.

Quite a small one I found yesterday. I only found it due to taking a closer look after seeing its silk all over a nearby grass seed head. It was very well hidden and was picked up after I blew in the area and it moved.

One of the more relaxed SP-- I tried with a smaller Maratus Griseus the other day but it was very hot and he was VERY active.
I recently designed and 3D printed a mod for my 90mm macro lens.
3 iterations and this is what I am happy with. It seems to improve the image quality which is what I was after.
I need to fix up the minor hot area in my catch light there which will be done today. Phew Lucky as one will be off to the UK later today so I am glad to have figured that out first..
This is a 41 image hand held manual focus bracket. Not a super clean stack it was only made to see the improvement of light and the result of it in the eyes of my most fav subject.
There is a crop on this. She is around 6mm in length.

Here stands an Australian Native Bee on a small gum-nut
Not far from this Bee stands a Giant.
And this bee needs help.
It is tired from being bullied and stolen from.
It finds comfort in knowing that soon one is coming with a book in his hand that contains all of the answers. This bee knows that no matter what lies a Giant stands behind that Justice will flow like a river and deal with this giant once and for all. Their castle in the sand will be washed away. All it has to do is wait and watch.

I have been pretty upset lately. Not been getting answers when I try to get them. Cant seem to please people I love. Good thing I am alone now. Only one to please is me. I can focus on my walk with Jesus more but it is still difficult in the face of all that has happened to me.

Urban Macro in the wild west of Wodonga.
Walking down Melrose drive I hear rap and next minute I see wrap.
This Dolophones SP - Wrap-around spider must have been in a wrap battle with another male by the looks. Not sure who won but it is now on a bit of a lean as he has a bung leg. I would call him I-lean but thats a Girls name. I dont know if he identifies as a wrap master or a toaster but I do not want to offend him.

I am pleased with the results I get now after changing the way I gather images for my focus stacked images.
I love my Butterfly Bush it is giving me lots of enjoyment to look at and when looking closer it has so much going on. Impressive to see an eco system developing in a yard that was bare a year ago and amazing to see how critters can just move on in.

These are so talented when they snatch a prey item in flight they grab it by the wings. I wish I was that talented.

What a way to go out with your Proboscis sticking out permanently!
Being rocked to sleep by a Zygometis xanthogaster
Those little flowers are a perfect size for the juvenile Milky Flower Crab Spiders to hide in and ambush prey 3x+ their size. Talk about a hamburger with the lot! If you look close you can see through the left wing the spiders leg and then another on the other side and you can kind of see the size of her.

An observation over the last few days is that the larger Robber Fly species are fading and I am starting to see the Mini Robber Fly
Take note of the color in those wings. That it because of the angle the light is on. Now the light angle can easily be changed on CJDiffuser!!

Welcome to 2024.
I was awake pretty early this morning. I had some prayer time before I got out of bed. Made a morning coffee and got ready to head out.
Gods Holy Spirit guided me this morning. This is not unusual. I was led in when to leave and also to walk to a certain spot. I stood in this particular spot looking for some time and could not see much.
I was told to step in and look more. That is when I seen 2 of these roosting on separate parts of the dead foliage seen in this image.
Once I seen the pics in the back of my camera I got a bit emotional and decided I had what I needed and with excitement walked back to load them onto my PC.
I have many images of them I could use this was the first stack I have processed.
The light behind hitting the grass etc from the rising sun was the deciding factor on the shutter speed I chose. I was very well braced to gather the 55 images that have been assembled in Helicon Focus.
Minimal to no movement while gathering the images led to a clean stack. Always happy when that happens!
Then over to Adobe PS for minimal editing. I barely go near the Exposure slider these days and since coming back I have a new way to edit my images.
My flash was set at 1/128 + 0.3 all of the other exif is not hidden from you.
