Hello my amazing Flickr friends !
Today is a pink or purple day at Color my World Daily and the theme at Smile on Saturday is Infinity symbol. At first, I had a very difficult time to find an infinity symbol in my props… but then there was this elastic orange hair band laying on the floor in front of me. And since I’m lazy I wasn’t about to pick it up (especially that my house is a total mess right now because of our renovations) until I noticed that it was a perfect Infinity symbol ! Isn’t that great ? Of course, turning an orange elastic band into a levitating infinity symbol was another problem but I’m pretty much satisfied with the results. And I truly hope it will make you smile !!
Juste for your information: I have lots of things going on in my personal life right now and due to our renovations going super fast my « photo studio » (aka coffee table) and all my props had to take a vacation and all of my stuff is currently in my bathtub (yes, people !! The struggle is real, there is virtually no free space left in my house … event the bathtub is full of stuff !! And yes, we did put a cork in, just in case !!). So I’m will not be able to publish daily anymore (which makes me truly sad since I got truly attached to all your awesome comments, support and this amazing community…). For now, I will be officially on « vacation » from Flickr (but it isn’t by choice …). I will try to publish as soon as possible. Until then : stay well and safe my friends !!
Have a beautiful day !! Mucho, mucho amor for you all !!
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!!
Auspicious Symbols in Buddhism (A Bug Comes insight) - Taken on my deck
Tibetan Buddhists make use of a particular set of EIGHT auspicious symbols, ashtamangala, in household and public art. Some common interpretations are given along with each symbol although different teachers may give different interpretations:

*Endless Knot (盤長,也叫吉祥結) - a symbol of the ultimate unity of everything.
*Treasure Vase (寶瓶) - symbolizes the Buddha's infinite quality of teaching the dharma: no matter how many teachings he shared, the treasure never lessened.

I am so lucky to have two kids that absolutely adore each other. They are also very creative, so I did not even have to ask to make this love symbol for me. I love them dearly.
The Konark Sun Temple. An ancient architecture built in 13th century, was dedicated to God 'Sun'. With twelve pairs of gigantic sundials, ornamented chariots and classical arts, carved over the stone walls, its a cool place to recall Indian history. Also once was known as Black Pagoda to Europeans as the ships passing through near by used to experience destruction of their navigation systems because of humongous magnetic supports of the temple.
Simply its a perfect composition of engineering, astronomy and fine art !!!
A compass rose is a symbol in the form of a circle that has marked around the directions in which the circumference of the horizon is divided, and which would be south, east, north and west. His invention is attributed to the Mallorcan Ramon Llull, although the detailed description given by Pliny the Elder in the book could have been his basic reference.
In the navigation charts it is represented by thirty-two (deformed) rhombuses joined at one end while the other indicates the course on the circle of the horizon. Above all is the fleur de lis with which the North is usually represented. This symbol is documented from the XV century.
... the greatest of these is Love (1Corinthians13:13).
This seems most appropriate on Good Friday.

Part 3 of 3 of my Ancient Egypt series.
The title is known to be given during the Old Kingdom of Egypt, and was at that point very powerful and prestigious. The mummies of the priestesses testify that they were decorated with a religious tattoo, covering the stomach around the area of the uterus. After the Middle Kingdom of Egypt, the title was often irregularly awarded the women of the royal family, typically princesses.
The rise, fall & extinction of the priestesses of Hathor are seen in ancient Egyptian culture. The women who wanted to become socially powerful usually took refuge in religion & took the charge of priesthood.
Ancient Egyptian society took women's empowerment much more loosely than ancient Greece & ancient Rome. There women were given the right to their own property. However, after becoming a priestess, a woman is seen not only as an important figure in ancient Egyptian society, but also a living symbol of divinity.
The priestesses of Hathor were called hm ntr hthr & they were one of the most respected people in Egypt. But After the Middle Kingdom of Egypt, the title was often irregularly awarded only to the women of the royal family, typically princesses. This includes the daughter of Ramesses II. At one time their names were completely erased from history.
Egyptologysts have shown that in early days only women of aristocratic lineage could be appointed to the priesthood of Hathor. They were called Badak-Purohit or God's Consort (Hmt nTr). They performed dances and songs during the sacred rites. Because of their menstruation and ability to give child-birth, they were considered unholy, which is why they could not perform sacred duties like dressing up the sacred image of deity.

The History of Green Tea
The history of green tea dates back over 4,000 years to China, where it is considered a precious beverage and a symbol of harmony between man and nature. After developing in China, green tea spread throughout Asia and the rest of the world.
Green tea gets its name from the preparation method used to prevent the tea leaves from undergoing excessive oxidation. Typically, the leaves are hand-picked and then quickly heated to stop the oxidation process. This is what keeps their natural green color and preserves the health benefits of green tea.

Owls are the subject of many stories because of their nocturnal activity, quiet flight, and unusual calls. In some cultures, owls are seen as a symbol of wisdom or good luck, but in many cultures they are associated with witchcraft and death. The myth of the wise owl in Western cultures may have originated from the Greek goddess of wisdom, Athena, who is often depicted with an owl on her shoulder. ........

The current Romanesque and Gothic form of the cathedral, seen today in the Stephansplatz, was largely initiated by Duke Rudolf IV (1339–1365) and stands on the ruins of two earlier churches, the first a parish church consecrated in 1147. The most important religious building in Vienna, St. Stephen's Cathedral, has witnessed many important events in Habsburg and Austrian history and has become one of the city's most recognizable symbols with its multi-colored tile roof. It has 256 stairs from the top to the bottom
