beneath fragmented light and the sudden quiet of a madrid backstreet, a woman walks past her own reflection—bathed in warm gold behind the glass, as if time split into two dimensions. the city watches in silence as the everyday becomes cinematic.

www.flickr.com/photos/186748575@N02/albums/72157713187109... This image tells a harsh and raw truth:

the young man is “in the bathroom,” a metaphor for a life still immersed in confusion, difficulties, and the “shit” of the society we live in.

It is a state of transition, of pain, but also of resistance.

The man outside the bathroom, instead, is an elderly person who symbolically is “out of the shit” — he has lived through life, approaching the end, the liberation from earthly suffering.

“In & Out” is the boundary between youth and old age, between chaos and calm, between struggle and surrender.

These shots were transformed and recomposed in 2020, during the lockdown caused by the pandemic of humility.I am republishing these images today as testimonies of a critical moment for humanity, where restrictions deeply impacted our relationships and revealed dynamics of control and manipulation.

The Covid pandemic was used as a pretext to limit freedom and divide people. This image is meant to recall both physical imprisonment and the need for awareness and inner rebellion.

Even in safety, something pushes us — a need to move, to risk, to chase what’s just out of reach…

A distorted glimpse of beauty, identity, and perception. A minimalist exploration of how we see and are seen—through surfaces, distortions, and the unseen.

A visual journey into the surreal, meditating on the weight of unspoken emotions and the quiet tension of stillness.

Bathed in golden hour glow, a devil-like form is fractured through surreal reflections. Light and shadow blur reality, leaving only a haunting presence suspended in transformation. Captured through a homemade vortograph—three mirrors arranged in a triangular shape—the image bends light into fragmented, otherworldly patterns, enhancing its eerie and mysterious atmosphere.

When the pressure to know and improve never rests, even the purest intentions can twist into something unsettling.

This photograph was taken on the top floor of the Garfield Monument in Lakeview Cemetery (Cleveland, Ohio). I love the simplicity of this image, where we find light and shadows created by the late afternoon sun on the wall and the masonry surrounding the window. That is what initially caught my eye and made me say to myself "that is interesting." The textures also added to the image's interest, but they were not apparent to me until after I had created the image.

For me, this photograph has symbolic meaning, and that is the interplay of light and darkness in our everyday psycho-spiritual lives. The shadows are the in-between places in our experience created by the interplay of light and darkness. So much of our lives are lived in these shadows; somewhere between the light and darkness.

In this black-and-white composition, the ropes symbolize the invisible forces that shape and bind our thoughts. Are we held by external hands or by the intricate webs we weave within our own minds?

What lies beyond the frame? What happens between safety and the unknown when we step out of our comfort zone, unsure of who or what awaits—or who is holding the spoon? A surreal reflection on vulnerability and the unseen forces that shape our choices.

I found this snail lying in the middle of the street, about to be stepped on. I picked it up and later used it in this photo, placing it on a life-sized doll in a side-view composition as it moved across her lips. It was shy for the first hour or so, barely reacting—but eventually, it behaved like a real model. After the shoot, I released it into a nearby park. Often a symbol of solitude, patience, and inner reflection, the snail reinforces the recurring theme of isolation and indulgence throughout my work.

She rests in an organic bath, untouched by the chaos of modern life. A playful take on society’s pursuit of health, relaxation, and nature in an often artificial world.

The photograph explores the tension between constraint and self-discovery, between isolation and the yearning to engage with the world beyond imposed limits. In a time when truth is often obscured, Breaktruth captures the fragile yet profound moment of revelation—an echo of resilience, desire, and the unstoppable force of human will.

This surreal fine art photograph, part of the ongoing series Synthetic Dreams, personifies the fragility of those who retreat into their inner worlds—challenging the boundary between the artificial and the real.

A minimalist composition exploring the 'quiet as a fish' concept—juxtaposing the stark contrast of a synthetic doll’s pale form with the dark tones of a fish placed diagonally over her eyes. This fine art black-and-white photo reflects themes of alienation, isolation, and the inner struggle to break silence and express individuality.

The Taste of Dystopia: A dark reflection of a future where indulgence meets decay.

I have been here, waiting. The flowers in my hand—one for you, one for me. Will you look beyond the surface, past the layers that keep me at a distance? Or will I remain unseen, holding onto something that was never meant to bloom alone?

Shot at Kumortuli Artisan's Den, Kolkata. I saw this artisan busy with his work with the sculpture of "Asura" (Demon) lurking in from the shadows as if within the inner self of the man. The pointed hand above the demon's head almost like a warning seems to indicate that fact more evidently.

We all have some evil lurking inside our own existence, who sometimes takes control and sometimes we overpower it.

Apologies for my inactivity in both commenting and uploading.

I let my photo-mojo slip and I'm trying to get it back.

I've just spent the last several hours searching for the originals (negs and scans) of my Moore Street photos, for a thing....that has a deadline, and ended up browsing the vast quantity of film stuff that I have and I couldn't resist the urge to browse (with intermittent "oohs" and "aaahs") and wondering why I didn't upload those at the time.

I blame OCD........and "smartphones"! The ultimate contemporary distraction.

I also had a notion of attempting the writing marathon that is NaNoWriMo but when I subtracted the days I would be unable to write, I calculated that I'd have to write about 3,000 words per day on the days I have available.....which is more than most of the writers I admire stated in the biogs/memoirs I've read, as their daily average.

See!

I'm procrastinating while writing descriptions on Flickr.

Two angels in sculptural drapery and minimalist silhouettes stage the fall not as a defeat, but as a conscious pose - strength through attitude.

The visual language combines apocalyptic iconography with modern fashion aesthetics: Fallen Gracefully as an expression of contemporary identity between power, vulnerability and style.

Lawrie Makaseff's photographic masterpiece. To me it is the apotheosis of Christianity in a single image. The artist can be contacted through his photostream here.

The Banishment of Adam and Eve, inspired by Gustave Dore, Paradise Lost

A restaging of the Fall of Man as a modern fashion tableau:

She stands tall, wearing a black cloak and holding a sword - a symbol of judgment and superiority. He kneels at her feet, holding a bright pink bag like a lost symbol of innocence - devoted but dignified.

The fall was inevitable. The style remains unforgotten.

Expulsion has never been so elegant.

A collection of photos from our trip to Barcelona, Spain in March 2025. Alongside exploring the city’s vibrant streets and iconic landmarks, we also took day trips to Girona, Besalú, Castellfollit, and the stunning Montserrat.

Without question, it’s a destination full of beauty and inspiration—well worth the journey!

This fine art self-portrait symbolizes the guidance that emerges when one surrenders.

Lying down with closed eyes, I feel a hand reaching from beyond—

perhaps from the soul, perhaps from something greater.

It reflects trust in the invisible forces that shape our becoming.

Artist Statement:

The Object She Dropped Before Leaving plays with distance spatial, emotional, symbolic. The object in the foreground is ambiguous: fruit, toy, offering, remnant. Its bright red hue is the only pulse in a cold, dying path. The figure dissolves into fog, not in haste, but in finality. She has turned, or is turning, or never will. I wanted the viewer to feel the unsettling intimacy of knowing something important just happened — and yet you missed it. This piece is about endings that don’t explain themselves, and objects that inherit meaning through abandonment.

This self-portrait reflects the realization of the infinite within. Influenced by Michael Talbot’s "The Holographic Universe," the image portrays me gazing into the mirror, where the universe itself seems to unfold. This visual metaphor emphasizes the boundless nature of self, suggesting that within each of us lies the vastness of the cosmos.

This fine art self-portrait marks the moment of union—when observer and observed dissolve into one.

Facing the mirror, I no longer search for a reflection.

I become the mirror itself.

The image expresses the non-duality of being, the realization that there is no separation.

This fine art self-portrait captures the moment of dissolving the false self.

In front of the mirror, there is no longer a “me”—only the presence of light.

This image speaks of awakening beyond identity, when the layers fall away and the essence shines through.

A visual meditation on truth and transcendence.

Water is currency. Thirst is inheritance. This series looks at the closeness between survival and longing in the Nigerian heat, where plastic bags carry more than just liquid and every drop feels owned. Even the most basic necessities have become so precious that people hold them close, clutching as if to keep them from the air itself. Shot in stark monochrome and color to strip away noise, Branded Thirst reflects on how scarcity leaves its mark on the body and the mind, and how even in that rawness, the shoes hint at the quiet creep of western culture into tradition.

This self-portrait explores moments of lost self-identity. The image shows me sitting in front of a mirror, yet there’s no reflection—just an empty chair. Through the absence of my reflection, the work conveys a sense of solitude and the alienation one feels when disconnected from their true self.
