This black-and-white photograph captures an ancient stone engraving of the Eye of Providence within a radiant triangle. Common in Christian iconography, the symbol represents divine omniscience and the Holy Trinity. The weathered surface and cracked masonry evoke a sense of time’s passage, while the surrounding shadows enhance the solemn, almost sacred atmosphere. Found in the old cemetery beside Oberhofenkirche in Goeppingen, this emblem serves as a reminder of faith, vigilance, and the eternal watchfulness of the divine.
her stride carries her into the glow, yet her gaze falls not forward but to the trolley waiting alone at the beam’s end. the strip of light becomes a thread, binding traveler and object in a fleeting moment of quiet connection.
on a narrow roman street where the buildings lean in to listen, two lovers meet under scattered sunlight. between their lips and shadows, the bold face on a canvas bag stares back like an oracle — silent, stylized, impossibly present. a story within a story.
a single rose hangs gracefully against a stark wall contrasting with shadows of a lamp and other flowers. the contrast between the delicate pink petals and the solid silhouette plays with perception, blending the natural with the symbolic in a dance of light and shadow.
The KJRY F Units round the curve at Blandinsville, IL. Seeing as this is the F Units' final journey, I'm sure the significance of the cemetery doesn't need spelling out.
In the quiet, everything shifts. This moment captures what it looks like to see clearly now - and remember everything. This can be felt in “Red Velvet”.
But when Herod’s birthday came, the daughter of Herodias danced before the company, and she pleased Herod so much that he promised on oath to grant her whatever she might ask. Prompted by her mother, she said, “Give me the head of John the Baptist here on a platter.” The king was grieved, yet out of regard for his oaths and for the guests, he commanded it to be given; he sent and had John beheaded in the prison. His head was brought on a platter and given to the girl, who brought it to her mother.

In the emptiness of this isolated gas station, a sign reading "You Are Nowhere" stands as both a literal statement and a profound metaphor. The barren landscape stretches endlessly, echoing a feeling of aimless wandering in life’s vast spaces. Captured by Duncan Rawlinson, this image invites us to ponder the paradox of feeling both lost and omnipresent—nowhere yet everywhere, all at once. The quiet stillness of the scene, punctuated only by a solitary yellow truck, offers a moment of existential reflection on where we truly stand in the world, both physically and mentally.
“Resignations” captures the suspended stillness of a moment where the body, the vessel, and the environment dissolve into one long exhale of silence. Here, the figure lies curled beside a tub of crimson less an act of violence than a final surrender to emotional oversaturation. This image is not a spectacle of gore, but a meditation on exhaustion. The flaking paint, pale light, and muted palette echo a life drained of vitality, while the red seeping outward evokes memory, loss, and the heaviness of what lingers. This is an elegy for unspoken pain. Through this work, I explore how neglected spaces mirror internal erosion, and how proximity to beauty (light, water, rest) doesn’t always guarantee peace. As always, I work to capture emotional states as architecture interior decay as sanctuary.

“Reclamation” explores the claustrophobic rituals of isolation and the silent aftermath of grief. Set within the decayed walls of a forgotten space, the figure sits encased in a worn tub like a relic of their own suffering—motionless, faceless, resigned. The streaked, dripping walls echo years of containment and trauma, while the crimson trail leaking from the tub becomes both a wound and a path, blurring violence with quiet surrender. This piece asks viewers to confront the ways in which physical spaces absorb emotional weight, and how confinement can distort time, memory, and the self. As with much of my work, I invite the viewer to linger not on answers, but on the atmosphere of unresolved intensity. This is not a scene of death, but of transformation, suspended in decay.

In Stillness Before the Storm, I wanted to explore a moment of poised dread — a breath held just before change descends. The figure, robed in crimson and seated within an ornate corridor, is caught in quiet reflection. Behind her, the world narrows. Before her, it opens to an expanse of roiling sky and gathering crows. The black lacquered walls seem to weep, as if the architecture itself is absorbing her sorrow. The red becomes both armor and surrender. This is not just solitude — it is the stillness one feels before the world comes undone.

"Last Memory of the Harvest"
In this work, I examine the emotional gravity of nostalgia through the lens of an object typically cast aside after autumn: the pumpkin. Here, it is monumental—slumped yet dignified, seated like a forgotten monarch under cathedral light. A lone bird interrupts the silence, mid-hover, suggesting transition, soul, or song. The decaying industrial space echoes what remains when function is stripped away—pure presence and time suspended.
This image invites viewers to sit with loss, decay, and beauty—without rushing to interpret.

Enveloped in a hardened shell, the figure’s head bows forward, eyes closed, as if retreating into a dream unreachable by sound or light. A thin wash of red burns along the edges, like embers trapped beneath cooling stone, hinting at life contained—restrained—but never extinguished. The skin gleams, slick with a metallic sheen, yet the posture is tender, almost vulnerable, an intimate surrender to the immovable weight surrounding it.
Artist Process:
The form was sculpted with a focus on tactility—the rock’s matte roughness against the liquid shine of the figure’s skin and clothing. A minimal color palette amplifies emotional resonance: deep blacks, steel greys, and the deliberate intrusion of red light, placed to graze the contours of the face and hands. This interplay creates a duality of serenity and tension, evoking the sensation of being simultaneously preserved and imprisoned. The compositional choice to fill the frame with the subject’s form invites the viewer into a close, almost claustrophobic intimacy.

A figure reclines in a quiet void, their form swallowed by an endless spill of blackened cords, like veins torn from a forgotten machine. Beneath the reflective curve of the visor, a faint ember of red glows against the face, hinting at a heartbeat or a thought that refuses to die. The stillness feels heavy here—every coiled strand a tether to something unseen, every loop a memory that refuses to loosen. It is rest, but it is also entanglement, a surrender to the weight of connection.
Artist Process:
The piece was built around contrasts of fluidity and rigidity—polished leather-like surfaces against the chaotic, snaking lines of the cables. Light was sculpted to ripple across each curve, amplifying depth while keeping the palette almost monochromatic, save for the concentrated crimson in the face. The choice to obscure the eyes with a near-perfect black visor heightens anonymity and abstraction, turning the figure into an archetype rather than an individual. The cords, draped deliberately to spill beyond the frame, extend the scene’s reach and imply a network far larger than what the viewer can see.
