The browser holds few surprises for existing Symbian users.

I was recently loaned the Nokia E51 for a two week review. I'll be trying Qik.com and a bunch of other Symbian apps on this HSPDA camera phone.

Sim, já houve um tempo em que companhias aéreas davam até agulha e linha para emergências de costura de seus clientes. Hoje estão até regulamentando cobrança de uso de banheiro...

The fate of a (once) great brand?

Nokia was not just a world leader in mobile phones, it was a thought leader with a vision, admired by millions. No, by billions! It was the one brand that was in more pockets around the planet than anything else, ever. Where are they now?

It was very symbolic to see this dropped in the middle of the street. In fact, it was in the path of cars, perhaps run over by some, so I gently kicked it to the kerb before taking a shot. It fell onto a shallow gutter - hence the idiomatic title.

Possibly it wasn't disposed of, just lost. (And damaged by traffic, otherwise someone would have taken the find: Turkey is impressively advanced in telecoms and technology adoption, but still has a large proportion of poor population for whom it would be a cherished gadget). But what struck me was the analogy with today's state of Nokia as a company and brand...

(Part 1 of a series)

Symbian's semi-official mascot, the yellow, rubber duckie, had a strong presence at SEE2010.

Attendees could give the ducks a personality and place them on the pile shown here. Then, at a certain time, attendees were invited to come and grab a duck from the pile to take home.

Testando macro do E72. Boa nitidez, os caracteres são lidos e reconhecidos por scanners e pelo Evernote.

Latest purchase - E61i. The trip to France was worth it! =) I would also like to thank Ed from e-series for his great blog who's helped me alot with my E61.

Nunca fui muito com a cara do N95 mesmo... agora o N96, é outro papo! :-)

Que coisa mais liiiiinda!

There are many more built in homescreen widgets in the N8. This partly reflects that, thanks to multi-page homescreen support, there's room for up to 18 different widgets.

The contact widgets now acts as a carousel, allowing more people to be added to it that the contact widget used on the N97 (it's more like the contact bar seen on other Nokia phones).

Tela externa controla MP3 player, permite ler SMS, selecionar perfis e consultar calendário sem abrir o aparelho.

The Multimedia one has a chapter written by yours truly ;-)

Symbian^3 enables USB On The Go (OTG). This allows you to plug in a USB mass storage device (pen drive, hard drives, other phones, MP3 players) and see it in the file manager (like any other drive).
