Photo taken at: The Endless Graveyard / A Swedish forest that exists at the edge of the land of the living

If you like snow, deep forest, wildlife and some magic, this is a place to explore!

I guess that's where I live IRL. Last week we saw 3 wolves in the same place!

Another "old" image. I'm having a "spring clean" on my computer, deleting, organising and mapping them. Kept this image as "no delete" as I quite like the moss-covered rocks and light giving a fairy tale atmosphere. - Primary forest, Sweden.

From the area "Norra Kvill" back home. An area with primary forest (native tree species and where the forest been growing free without disturbance by humans). This was taken a late April a few years back after a long cold winter. The snow was still laying in some part in the forest and the lake was still frozen.

This was probably the boat to carry trekkers to other side of lake Laitaure to go along Kungsleden. In sweden if you trek along Kungsleden there are many places where you must take a boat transportation across large lakes (Langas, Sitojaure, Laitaure) to be able to continue your trek. This same boat also goes to Rapaätno delta and all the way to Nammasj where the path to upper Rapadalen begins (only for experienced trekkers).

I'm quite happy with the way this image came out, in spite of it displaying a forest plantation. The different layers and the overall balance is quite pleasing.

Hiking at the gates of Sarek (remastered). Norrbotten, Sweden. 30.6.2009

The slope of Tjakkeli is the North border of spruce forest in this part of Sweden as the mountains of Sarek are located to the north.

Please, find the water spot on the lens! If asked, I would say that it is a sudden shower on the mountain top or an artistic effect I use a lot ;) It is very difficult to keep the lens clean at all times while kayaking. If it had been a little upper on the clouds it would have been very easy to remove with Photoshop.

This is a document of one of the very rare moments that we actually looked a map while paddling or trekking.

Deep in the swedish forests, in a disused military area, stands this unfortunately locked (!) watchtower made of a "Futuro House" designed by architect Matti Suuronen from Finland. The Futuro was created in 1968. Less than a hundred were produced. The swedish army purchased three Futuros to serve as lookout towers in shooting pratice areas. Two of them stands there about one kilometer from eachother. But where is the third one? I guess they didn't see the appealing futuristic freshness of the design here but only the practical aspect.

I know the feeling!

I think this is a beautiful plant in the forest. In April I'll head to Sweden again. It will be too early for the Heather to be in bloom but the Capercaillie ( grouse bird), are often found amongst the heather and pine trees, and April is also a good month to see their "Lek in spring" and that's what I'm hoping for this time!
