The Eden Project was built in a 160-year-old exhausted china clay quarry near St Austell, in Cornwall.The Guinness Book of Records heralds the Biomes as the biggest conservatories in the world. Today almost half of our water needs are provided from water harvested on site.This project is an example of regeneration for the disused clay pits and works that often leave the landscape visibly scarred, yet not all the community from the China Clay area feels it has a positive impact in their lives.
Wonderful to see these birds in the heart of the city. Credit to the Abu Dhabi authorities for maintaining these pristine habitats in an urban setting.
