Conference held at Gisambai on 16 August 2014 to promote sustainable development in the villages of Vihiga County. The conference theme was the proposed Sustainable Development Goals [SDGs] [2015-2030]. The conference was organized by Community Foundation Western Province [COFWE} under the program Open County Governance[OCG]. The OCG program manager is Albert Kenyani Inima. The program is sponsored by World Justice Project [WJP]. The mission of WJP is to promote the rule of law worldwide. The mission of COFWE is to promote sustainable development in western Kenya.

In the framework of the International Women’s Day 2019, a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women, Dialogue Café would like to address one of the major challenges of the XXI century, the SDG5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls, by joining the Women´s Day Campaign #BalanceforBetter, hence dedicating a session to celebrate collective action working hard for gender equality, which is an essential element for economies and communities to thrive at all levels: political, economic, social, and cultural.

From March 7-9, 2016, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, together with the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Ocean Sanctuary Alliance (OSA), hosted an international conference on "Marine Protected Areas: An Urgent Imperative

A Dialogue Between Scientists and Policymakers."

 

The conference's main target was to find practical ways to implement Target 5 of Sustainable Development Goal 14 on the conservation and sustainable use of the world's oceans.
