Regen Inc., is a maker of stylish personal electronics including the award-winning ReNu solar tablet, which appeared on NBC’s “Today Show” during a segment with Fast Company contributing writer, Paul Hochman and Today Show host Al Roker at the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

Designed by Robert Brunner, Ammunition partner, Regen aims to make useful, self-powered products accessible to the greatest number of people possible, and to turn self-power into the preferred standard for personal and home electronics everywhere.

Regen’s initial products include ReNu, a personal power generation and storage system and the ReNu iPod Dock. Both products are available for pre-order at Regen’s website (http://www.regenliving.com) and from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com). By Summer 2010, Regen products will be found in the aisles of North America’s largest retailers.

The ReNu personal power generation and storage system panel combines light power with a whole family of ReNu personal electronics. Other Regen products include Side Light; ReVerb speaker; ReNu iPod Dock.

Based in San Francisco, Regen was founded in 2009 with a goal of marrying compelling design with patented solar technology to create personal and home electronics that both empower and inspire. ReNu is the cornerstone of Regen’s sun-powered product line and can be matched with a number of docks including an iPod/iPhone Dock, Audio Dock and Side Light. Full details about Regen and its product line can be found at www.regenliving.com.

About Regen

Regen creates personal and home electronics powered by light, and works with manufacturers and distributors to bring them to market. At the heart of the company is a belief that leaping forward toward solar powered electronics should not require stepping back from performance, design, and enjoyment. The cornerstone of its products is the Regen Smart Power Architecture – a new solar collection, storage, and hybrid power management platform. Founded by cleantech venture accelerator, Noribachi LLC, and Ammunition LLC, a San Francisco-based design firm, the Regen team is developing a new wave of self-powered products that are at once practical, beautiful, and easy to use and enjoy.

The Cherenkov Telescope Array project (CTA) is an international initiative to build the next generation of ground-based gamma-ray instrumentation. The CTA will serve as an open observatory to the global astrophysics community and will provide deep insights into the non-thermal, high-energy universe.

The program for the concept masterplan includes a 3,500 sq.ft. Visitor Center, a 6,000 sq.ft. Administrative/ Control Center, a 10,000 sq.ft. Dormitory, and a 30,000 sq.ft. Lab and Technical building. All structures on site are being designed for net zero energy usage and LEED-Platinum certifications.

The telescope array itself is half a mile in diameter and consists of 29 telescopes; 25 MST’s (12 meter dishes) and 4 LST’s (24 meter dishes). The CTA Consortium is staffed by over 1000 working members representing 27 different countries including Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Sweden, England, and the United States.

Pieces drying on the rack.

They actually don't make buttons like this anymore. Some of the buttons are made in numerous layers which is why they look so luminous and have so much depth. Where possible we turn them into pendants, when the center post can be modified or removed without damaging the button. Many of them are made from pre-petrochemical natural plastic resins like melamine and bakelite.
