The upper deck is the expressway for cars and the lower deck is for the Yurikamome Train lines at the Rainbow Bridge.

Pedestrian walkways are on both sides of the bridge.

It was opened in 1870 and is the only suspension bridge and it is also the oldest bridge across Singapore River.

Finally i have the view of the whole bridge from the north side of the pedestrian's walkway!

The sky bridge is a 125 metre curved pedestrian cable-stayed bridge. When I arrived it was covered in mist but when this clears it's breath taking. To get the the bridge you travel on the steepest cable car in the world. Nothing can prepare you for this experience but all was forgotten when I reached the bridge.

South Portland Street Suspension Bridge in Glasgow - looking North. This bridge opened in 1853 but was reconstructed in 1871 due to sub Standard materials being used. More repairs were made in 1926, 1997 & it was repainted in 2005. These arches are rather imposing. All the suspension steel was replaced in 1871. The Forth Road Bridge was not the first Scottish suspension bridge to have faulty main cables.

We had perfect sunny weather while in Whistler this week.

This suspension bridge was part of a hike we went on. It was the bounciest bridge I've been on. I thought of setting up a tripod on the bridge to shoot the creek below, but that thought disappeared after a second or two :)

Today, back home, we finally have some rain that we so badly need.

I enjoy photographing old bridges, and this one was no exception. It's builder (John Roebling) is better known for his work in building the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City. While we were in Cincinnati, this bridge was closed to vehicular traffic. However, pedestrians could still cross the bridge - which I did to get a view of the Cincinnati skyline.

crazy couple of days, hope to catch up with every one today and tomorrow

On our visit to the Todtnauer Wasserfall, we were surprised to see a long suspension bridge we never heard about. It turned out that the Black Forest Line only opened up three days earlier. At that time, it was Germany's second longest suspension bridge with a length of 450m and 120m above ground. Since then, the Skywalk in Willingen has opened which now officially is Germany's longest suspension bridge with 665m.

The Menai Suspension Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Menai Strait between the island of Anglesey and the mainland of Wales. Designed by Thomas Telford and completed in 1826, it was the world's first major suspension bridge. The bridge still carries road traffic and is a Grade I listed structure.

This is another shot from one of the concerts up on the mountain. I was standing on the suspension bridge (no hands!) to get this shot as the evening sun was lighting up the wire rails, and people on the deck became silhouettes.

It's always more fun to capture images outside when the sky cooporates and makes things more interesting...

Bodie Creek Bridge is the most southerly suspension bridge in the world. Its location is not far from Goose Green on East Falkland, Falkland Islands and it was built as a short cut to move sheep.

This is on Mt. Habrich, at the top of the Sea to Sky Gondola, and you can see a bit of the suspension bridge at the right. I have posted photos from this wonderful place before, but the gondola cables were cut in an act of vandalism six months ago, and it took them that long to rebuild.

So it was very exciting to go up again. It was cold but sunny and hardly anyone else was up there. The trails had been gravelled so they weren't slippery, but there was a lot of snow in the forest on the top, which you can't actually see from here. It's only a 40 minute drive from our place, and with concerts every Friday evening in the summer (I know, will have to wait a while), we'll be up there a lot.

Zoom in and take a look :)

Description in English and Dutch:

The bridge at Kanne was built in 2005 and designed by the bright and creative engineers of the prestigious Greisch office. It is an iconic suspension bridge over the Albert Canal. It was the first suspension bridge ever manufactured in Belgium. The Albert Canal is an important waterway for inland vessels connecting Antwerp to Liège and is present in the three Belgian provinces of Antwerp, Limburg and Liège.Opposite the impressive bridge are the infamous Kanne Caves. For more information about these special caves, I refer you to an earlier upload of mine here on Flickr of the Kanne caves. In 2015, the bridge even became national news when a 15-year-old boy was thrown into the water from a height of 10 meters by a group of crazy young people. The boy couldn't swim and was eventually rescued by some girls. Fortunately, he survived.
